1968 F-100: Hedman Headers finally showed up!

- Installing the Hedman #89100 headers on the ‘68 F100. We ran into a few issues but they fit well!

That would be a full time gig in these parts… the weather changes hourly-if not multiple times an hour hahah
35+ years ago,I swapped the top bolts to 316 stainless,added coppercoat and have not had problems breaking off bolts on exhaust.The 200/6 has the same design,so it got some too. and copper exhaust and collector gaskets have saved me a lot of money over paper and or MLS gaskets.Just heat till cherry-red,cool, and install.I have 3 FEs and 2 200/6s.
A bit of prevention certainly goes a long way!
The copper gaskets are definitely a good call. I ran copper in the past, but I switched to using Remflex about 10 years ago and have has really good luck with them as well!

The starter on the FE's have 3 bolts to bell housing. Had a fun time installing headers on the passenger side on my father's 73 f100 2wd 390 with hooker competition headers. Nice ford 👍
It’s a bit of a juggling act to get them in there for sure. Not having the front clip on this truck during installation made it 10x easier!

I have a 66 F100 with the 352 motor. I’m dealing with the same issues as your 68. Runs great, stops okay with non power drums. Been thinking about headers and four barrel down the road. Do you like the Headmans? Would you do anything different?

I am quite happy with the Hedmans. For the price they seem to be decently built, and they fit well! We will see how they hold up in the long run.
The only thing I would have done differently… tackle it in slightly warmer weather hahaha

How are the headers? I’m about to do my 68 F250 390 so looking at my options. It seems the starter spacing and collector out needs some mods to it and not what I’m looking to do. Thoughts on them after the install? It may not be that bad.
I’m happy with them, they fit without any modification and seem to be decent quality.
Install was not as bad as anticipated, and they are a huge upgrade from the stock manifolds!
