    Things I've also just remembered to mention:
    - The car has refused to start at least 10 times over the past 3 years because the 12v battery had gone dead. This was sorted out when I eventually swapped out the 12v battery for a new one.
    - The vodafone built in wi-fi is super expensive and honestly not worth it at all.
    - The NFC function does not work in my model so I am unable to use my android phone to unlock and start the car without my key.

    Seriously considering getting one used now they’re half the price.. still worried about that range though since I do 40 miles a day commute

    Hi, we bought our Chrystal White at the beginning August 2020. Totally agree with 12v battery issues.
    We are lucky and charge overnight at home, only 9p for a kWh, so very cheap to run. Getting 4.4 miles per kWh, in Derbyshire so lots of steep hills!
    Had to have the crash beam that sits behind the front bumper replaced after got bumped in Tescos by Nissan with a reversing camera, dude not happy as it cost about £1800 at dealer. The bumper was fine just a bit of polish!
    Love the turning circle
    Wish I could understand all the tech like you!
    Nice one mate!
    Oh yes, we are keeping it too! Never see another one!

    I've the same car (same color, also) and I live in Italy (naples). I agree with you that this car is unique and amazing! At now I have done about 30,000km and 0 problems. I often use it in heavy traffic conditions and I think it is the ideal car for cities with a high traffic rate.

      Salve Roberto!

    I've purchased one recently as they were heavily discounted and I have to say it's awesome. It meets my needs in terms of range and I feel that you buy a car like this with your heart and not necessarily your brain. It's not that its not a sensible choice but it really does have to be suitable for your needs. The small boot/trunk is my only gripe but I'm usually driving 1+1 so seats can fold down for additional space. Also - I'm gonna get a arm rest which was on the accessories list. That will make this car even more comfortable.
    I've driven an owned many electric cars and this is a keeper for me. I've taken a 10 year view and given how rare these are already I think it will still be special in 10 years time. Never know - some battery technology advances might mean longer range from the same battery space capacity. That was possible in my Gen 1 Nissan Leaf which started life as a 24kwh and can be upgraded to 62 kwh - tripling the range to over 200 miles. Same happened on later model BMW i3's which is another special car that still looks pretty awesome in my opinion.

    I love the videos. I kept my Honda e after the PCP ran out (3 years) Just done 21000 miles and replaced all the tyres once. Had the 12v battery replaced under warranty, fortunately the car was on my drive. Just need to be careful with the range in winter (90 miles) BUT overall nice little car

    • @s__c__o
      @s__c__o 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      90miles in Winter! Did you cut holes in the floor for your feet? Flintstone style. I get closer to 50miles in Winter, for a lot of short city journeys (it's a city car after all.)

    ok love the videos and thinking of getting a Honda E myself but wanted to know:
    if you have noticed any degradation in battery capacity/range over 3 years?
    how well does carplay work with it?
    what is your real world range in Summer vs Winter?

    • @barryb1490
      @barryb1490 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Got mine end of May, once my wife drove it she takes that instead of her diesal car for her work commute!
      Range for me in summer has been around 85 - 90 miles on an 80% charge though it does prefer town / city driving to motorway, a common theme with all EV's I believe, will see how the range goes this winter. In summer it seems to be roughly 1% per mile, depending on your driving style.
      Carplay has been fine no issues, though SatNav not as accurate as the in built one.

    • @TechJamo
      @TechJamo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So in terms of battery degradation, I think this car is pretty much giving me the same miles I used to get when I first got the car. I'm quite used to driving efficiently on the motorway and making the range stretch as far as possible. It could be argued that I've simply become a more efficient driver too which is helping the range extend better. However I feel I still get the same old 1% battery = 1 Mile of range that I used to get on day 1.

    • @TechJamo
      @TechJamo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ohh and I use Android Auto - my mum has driven my car and used her car play with no issues though... I think the Google Maps on my phone are way more accurate than the maps that are built into the car in my experience.

      I agree, I use Apple car play and set destination in google maps an it just works in the car. Better than the car nav as you get live congestion and reroutes. Although google can be a bit behind sometimes, like 50 metres.

    Just found your video after I found out that the Honda E went out of production very fast and wanted to look experiences of it. The crazy high price tag in addition to low miles did not help that little fella at all. I find it quite a shame since the design is still great after those years compared to other compact EVs. I would get the car as a weekend car since the low range doesn't help with my case of range anxiety and the horrid state of chargers being a reliable service in germany. I would love to keep such a cool car runnin but definitly not as a daily :D

    I part-exchanged my 2020 platinum white e in December 2022 after owning it for 2 years; I now have a 2017 orchid white Civic 1.5 litre VTEC turbo CVT Prestige. I miss the tech and the driving experience of the e but I don’t miss the short range. I paid £27k and the part-exchange value was £23k; the Civic was £19k. Looking at how EV prices have nosedived I may have been lucky with my timing. I’m keen to know how your PCP figures stack up re its guaranteed final value at term end; will it still be worth buying it outright? You’ve certainly piled on the miles and I’ve enjoyed following you on your journey.😎

    • @TechJamo
      @TechJamo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Thanks for following the journey dude! Yeah It'll be very intresting seeing what the figures are at the end of the PCP. Especially as the price of buying a brand new Honda E has shot to 37k overnight randomly. I was thinking of possibly swapping for a Honda Jazz. Looks like it has pretty much the same features except the camera mirrors and the acceleration. The range is SO annoying.
