Just a heads up, that's the wrong style of light for the bow. Bow lights are Red/Green to indicate port and starboard. The white light goes on the stern. This is so boaters at night can identify if your vessel is coming towards, going away, or broadside to them.
@@matthewlittle6940 when anchored at night, you would just run the white light. If you had your nav lights on, it would give the impression you were moving.
I've never messed with boats and I never will, but I've gotta tell you I'm a bit concerned about you not replacing the foam under the decking, mate... Manufacturers put it there for a reason... 🤔
The biggest thing I like about you is you're not afraid to take on projects that most wouldn't and give a new life to all kinds of things. Man of many talents. Keep up the great work!
Turning out to be a nice boat put 2vintage on the side of the boat that would be cool . Thanks for all your hard work on the videos and your hard work on the boats and dirt bikes and stuff. Awesome. Keep them coming.
It takes a ton of hours!! I lost the carpet in my Lund and replaced it with seadek Eva foam , so far it’s awesome, two seasons on the dock !! Love it !!
im all for taking shortcuts where possible but ............... the one you took was removing the styrofoam in the hull and not replacing it its there for several reasons 1 rigitity of the floor , 2 sound deadening , 3 and most important to keep it afloat when it takes on water and it will you wont know the hull is full of water till its sinking the manufacturer put it there for a reason small fishing boats always take on water and you wont know till it has 6-8 inches of water and sinking the sump pump will be under water and most likely will burn out before removing the water
Complete metamorphosis! This is a big project for one person. I'm very impressed, I really am. I've done a few boats with my dad and they were all a lot of work and time. Your boat was way dirtier than anything we started with. I'm really looking forward to seeing more on this one. Thanks again for your time today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
He is the master of understatement. He takes off more decal in 20 minutes with the rubber wheel than he did with heat and razors in 2 hours..."Works pretty good" 🤣 Boat looking good!!!
The boat is looking great. I learned something new the (eraser wheels). For myself I like circler saws with the blade on the left side, you can see your blade and the cut, there called worm drive saws, you can get then in 7 1/4 or 4 inches. I also preferer to cut on the ground with 2x4 under the sheet. with sawhorses you get the sheet drop and can bind the blade. One more thing its easier using a paint roller, if bend open the roller frame around 3/4 " . You will enjoy the boat keep up the good work.
Great Job! I think I would have glued some foam insulation together and filled in where the foam was removed. I’m not a boat specialist by any standard. Still very nice. Get a fold up canopy they’re fairly inexpensive and possibly keep you from getting skin cancer out in the direct sun.
I've been using cheap oven cleaner to strip paint from my boat. Works awesome so far. Rinses off. Not even using a pressure washer. Just a garden hose.
To cut arcs with a circular saw, it's best to either set the blade to only stick out a little bit, or hold the saw up so there is much less length of blade in the wood. Makes going around the curves easier.
Nice progress Mr Joe, is it strange that it's so relaxing to see somebody hard at work. Look forward to the actual boating and you and your family having sone fun, I certainly miss it.
Excellent ! I loved the approach less talk, and more workmanship, and for me this is probably the best restoration video I have ever seen. A lot of TH-camrs get longwinded, thank you or getting it because this is what I wanna see great work ! Like to see any changed or mods like lighting or performance enhancements to the boat as well.
Looks good. You may want to cut those screws down that are protruding into your storage compartments that you used to mount the hinges. I would end up ripping my hand open on one of those things when trying to get something out of it.
I highly recommend you put a new prop on the motor. its going to shake and and cause bad vibrations through out the boat and cause excessive ware on the bearings in the lower unit from being out of balance. you will also get much better performance from the motor.
The sound of the birds in the background is nice. Boy, you sure aren't afraid to take on some nasty projects. You just dig in and and plow on through to the end. Good job. I guess this is one of the only ones you can't test out on your land, LOL.
Joe, Might be a good idea on your interior color. The summer Sun will really heat up that dark color. Maybe a light blue or off white. Great job. Nothing like an old boat.
You did a great job and didnt overspend like everyone commenting wants you to. Wheel bearing grease and new impeller in motor and its bulletproof. Tell us the cost totals next vid... im guessing 1200 .... sell it fer 3k while its freshly done and use yer dads walleye boat if you wanna fish 😊
You are doing a fantastic job on the boat. I think that you will have a good time riding around and fishing in it. You should change the prop because it will vibrate and shake like crazy. It will also take out the bearings in the lower unit. A new water pump impeller would make a big difference in the cooling of the motor, this is an easy and inexpensive job. Enjoy your boat and please be safe.
Wow! You sure did alot more than i would have to this boat. Love all the different things you work on. What do you fish for up North. Im in Tennessee. Those boats are very popular down here too.the eraser pad worked well. Keep the great videos coming. Love em!
Those eraser wheels dont like heat so next time you use it. Put it on something like a right angle drill with slower rpms. You can press a little harder when slower and works way better ive found

Foam floats, so if you manage to swamp the boat the foam that you have taken out helps the boat stay afloat and not sink. The way you have it set up now it will go straight to the bottom. Please re-consider your thoughts and replace the foam.

You can wear it all day no problem. I have a couple that are 10 years old and still pass coast guard inspection. But we do replace the CO2 cartridge every year Like I said buy the better ones
You should put antisieze compound on the lugs, it keeps the threads lubricated and in 51 years I've never lost a lug nut or wheel. I had to spend the night in the woods up near Mt Saint Helen's 1972. That foam would not stop it from sinking.mine sank same boat.its for sound proofing .
The floatation foam is integral to the safety of the boat and its passengers! It also quiets the ride especially in rough waters.
No problem just put liquid foam w/spray nozzle
If you use foam, make sure it's "closed cell" or you will be building a sponge brick! 😉
I’ve never heard that. I’ve been a lots of small metal boats with no flooring or foam. I assumed it was for noise?
Our old non floor aluminum boat had the foam built into the seats.
