      BAND-MAID didn't play all of their songs.
      They scheduled another concert at a smaller venue to perform some of the songs they didn't include at this Yokohama Arena show.

    Appreciate what you do Joel. A lot of folks say Hate should be what you should be using to introduce people new to Band Maid. IMO it is a great option but not the only one. Live versions of Don't You Tell Me, Puzzle, Moratorium, Play and Domination are all good options. The From Now On MV is good as well. Even though it is an instrumental, it does show off their chops.

    Every Maidiac loves Band-Maid's softer side: songs like "About Us", "Memorable", "Smile", and "Page", but also understands that it's Band-Maid's hard side that is their foundation. Most of Band-Maid's catalog is as hard rocking as it gets. I like to introduce Band-Maid to my friends with hard hitting songs like "Puzzle", "Moratorium", "Rinne", "Warning", and "From Now On" before introducing them to their more Emo side and songs like "Daydreaming", "Endless Story", or "Anemone".

    Kenny Wayne, you probably aren't reading these comments but if you are, I've been listening to your stuff for a long time - LOVE it!!! And Band-Maid, while a totally different beast musically, is awesome and it's cool to see one of my musical idols watching them. For a musician like yourself, I think you'd really enjoy their versatility and songwriting - and mostly just making really fun music. Cheers!

    Suggestion: When you show the song "Hate?" to anyone, you should 1st explain to them how the song came about(why Saiki wrote it) & then turn on the English lyrics(cc). It brings more meaning to the song in my opinion(which makes it even better).

    I appreciate what you´re trying to do, introducing Band-Maid to a wider audience of music related folks. But please, don´t ever show "Bestie" to a first listener, it´s not at all what Band-Maid is or stands for.
    You should know that yourself by now.

    • @daaaaaave
      @daaaaaave หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think they composed Bestie to be accessible to a wider audience, so if it’s not a good intro to them, they’ve failed a bit. I think it’s fine.
      When I introduce them to people, I usually use Dice. It’s like the archetypal Band-Maid song. But if I know someone has certain preferences, I’ll pick something tailored to them.

    • @TomClark-Futoura
      @TomClark-Futoura หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree with you saying Bestie may not be the best first impression MV to represent Band-Maid. But I totally disagree that the song or MV outfits or anything else about the Bestie MV is not what Band-Maid stands for.
      To me, Bestie sounds exactly like Band-Maid and what they "stand for" -- from MISA's bass tones and runs, Akane's pocket beat and fills, Miku's unique and powerful backing vocals, Kanami's riffing and slow-to-fast solo (like in Daydreaming), and Saiki's emotional delivery and phrasing, albeit, with her strong accent due to singing in English.
      This mid-tempo song is, in many ways, like their other mid-tempo songs. Thx, UHD🖖😉

    • @UltraHD.7
      @UltraHD.7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TomClark-Futoura I get what you mean. It´s just, in my perception Band-Maid is primarily a fast paced, high energetic, highly skilled hard rock band. And that´s why I think a first impression should show this.
      Bestie is not bad, I just think it sounds like so many other mid tempo, strumming, western rock songs, especially from the US. So it doesn´t really show the essence of Band-Maid or what makes them so special.
      But maybe that´s just me, Thx Tom 🤘🙂

    • @TomClark-Futoura
      @TomClark-Futoura หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UltraHD.7 I agree again. And it's not just you. I don't know if you saw it but, here's my message to Wibo and Joel from yesterday:
      "I know it's maybe too late, but some suggestions for Wibo (or anyone) might be anything from Yokohama, or Warning produced MV, Domination Live official MV, or Real Existence Live MV, Choose Me studio MV, Dice MV, to name a few. Since Band-Maid has a huge selection of all manner of songs, the best song to choose should be based on the genre or type of music the person likes. For example, if he likes it hard, give him Rinne, Warning, No God, Puzzle, Secret My Lips, Moratorium, etc.. If he likes it more mellow or mid-tempo, Bestie, Daydreaming, Endless Story at Yokohama. If they're into guitar work, From Now On, and so on...
      I wish someone would produce a Band-Maid song list broken down into genre or type-of-music categories."

  • @garykeeling2275
    @garykeeling2275 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

    "Bestie" is one of the worst songs to use to introduce new listeners to Band-Maid. It's a collaboration with the dude from Incubus, and while the lyrics are great, the music in uninspired and not at all typical of Band-Maid's work. It's not a terrible song, but it is definitely in the bottom half of their catalog. "Hate?" would have been a much better choice for the first introduction.

    • @Morgowitch
      @Morgowitch หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they are looking for a way to appeal to broader audiences. Like have a maybe easier to digest sound. But I think they just work best when they can just flow freely. It's maybe hard for them to evolve just from themselves at this point without repeating old tropes.
      It's difficult but maybe women like the warning can have a more fruitful influence on them than old white dudes could 😇
