Although my heart is broken, I absolutely LOVED the last story (the letters)! I know something like that is very rare but if you can find more of those type of stories, it would be great! Thank you for including them!
The lions' reign of terror in story three, also called "The man-eaters of Tsavo", was made into a movie called "The Ghost and the Darkness". Great film.
Great ? 😊 Yeah, great for people who are utterly clueless about what life's actually like out in the bush. See, Hollywood did that Hollywood thing where they just make up stuff including the character of Michael Douglas. So, there's your historical accuracy. What I like about the story is the author's attempt at replicating the way English was written back then. Otherwise it is just a retelling of the plot of the movie.
Those aren't the only man eating lions, for sure. It wasn't common, but the more people destroy their territory and kill off their usual prey, the more it happens
There's a great many stories about the trolls of Scandinavia. They frequently appear in old folktales. There are myths that the mountains themselves are giant trolls that got petrified in the sun's rays or they simply realized how old they are and fell asleep or died. The stories portray them as hungering for human flesh and possessing magic powers and treasure, a little bit like dragons in popular culture today. They're usually very gullible or stupid, but sometimes they are clever enough to fool the story's hero and temporarily gain the upper hand. You're right that a sasquatch might be a kinder adversary, because most people seem to survive their encounter with sasquatch. But it's important to remember that these creatures are probably not real! 🙂
@ are you sure about that? That they’re not real. Thank you for filling me in on the Scandinavian troll. They sound horrible, lol. But, I do beg to differ on the not real thing. Some may not be, but I live in the Pacific Northwest, USA. I mushroom pick and I’m also just out in the woods a lot - and I’ve seen some things 😊 Wouldn’t wanna see your troll though 😊
This year i was thankful for : Another thanksgiving that my kids &grandkids + rest of my fam and my cats are still here and none of us are "not" if u get my point. (Im superstitious so i get nervous even saying it )but i am truly thankful that we are still here and i hope to be able to say that agin nxt year and for the rest of my thanksgivings on this earth ( seeing how i am grandma i should naturally go 1 st)..I am actually thankful for everything but id be typing all day ,lol. I just believe in counting every single blessing, every day!!!! Xoxo.
Oh wow! What a great idea to read letters from so long ago! That was really fascinating. As I was listening and trying to place the story, I wondered about the reveal partway through, wondered if it would be THAT story. (I won't mention the reveal, so I didn't spoil it for those reading comments before they hear the last story~ I'd love to hear more stories via old letters, if that's a direction you decide to explore further! Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm grateful for what you share with the TH-cam community~

There is a documentary called "Vurunga" it's so tragic seeing people yrying so hard to protect the wildlife There, especially the poor Gorillas. These animals are so traumatized its heart wrenching. And for what in the end, Greed, Power?
Welcome to the world where mosts’ end goal is either survival, greed or power. Especially in impoverished countries where taking ppl who’ve been essentially brain rotted by the opportunity to have a better life by poaching by a wealthy ancient Chinese culture who’s willing to pay top dollar for archaic rituals, talking about ppl who don’t care about their own ppl or human life, animal life is much lower to them
Happy Thanksgiving 😊 🦃❤ thankful lets read disnt rake a holiday from posting !! Lol so grateful fr i found your channel thru animated stories originally but love your entire channel on its own
The last story 😮😢🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 wow reminds me of the TH-cam channel “love letters” when beautifully spoken actors read poems and letters written years before. Poor Jack, Margaret and their children…I would love to know what happened to the descendants…I can’t help think would it be wonderful if they could be notified about the letters and if any chance have them returned to them ❤ Rest in Peace
Luv the 1st story & the fighter who was helping with the poachers because he loved animals & was a vegetarian…goes to show you a big strong man can be very fit & healthy on mainly plants
Yes, fantastic stories I've never heard before. Game Wardens in America have more power of jurisdiction than any other branch of law enforcement. They do not need warrants & can enter any home without announcement. I wanted to be a Game Warden at one time, when searching for a path in life & employment.
The first story is just so sad. Our planets animals are always used for money at the expense of our future generations being able to see them. Its honestly heartbreaking 💔
Awesome epic epic epic 👌 absolutely no idea how magnificent this channel is. Honestly, I'm absolutely 👌 💯 find it fantastic, brilliant narrations and joy listening experiences 😀
Hello. Hope your move went smoothly! It’s strange to me but I can’t type/chat and listen to the livestream at the same time. So now I visit the channel Smash the Button! Listen maybe 10 mins or so. Then read the chats. Sometimes I’ll comment but mostly not. I would rather hear the story in its entirety the next day. So I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday! Now on f oh f Christmas Lights up on the House.

Well, Northern Rhodesia was the colonial name of my country, Zambia. I remember reading stories of the man eating lions in school. They used to eat the people working on the railway lines as well😢
I remember when Africanized bees made it to the United States. I was following traffic of a zodiac coming across the Rio Grande River: dope. I went down the trail behind a warehouse. I ran face to large abandoned tire where large African ground bees had a home. I retreated, yelling at my female trainee to run. She of course demanded to know why as the relentless bees were showing no mercy. In the end I was stung over by 50 times. After awhile, the adrenaline made it not hurt so much. The incompetent medical staff at the ER, removed the stringers by squeezing the venom in me each time. By the afternoon I was feeling really aggressive. By the evening I was freezing and vomiting. I was rushed to the ER where I died twice. In the end, I was in the ER for a week with my own self administered morphine button for some reason. Long story short, Africanized bees are no joke.

The letters nearly had me in tears!

I know you wanted more stories through letters, I just thought I'd share if anything was interested in the lion part too

In Chicago, I saw these two lions in a museum that they're taxidermied.
I remember that movie! Was one of my favorites!

" like a chimp ripping its owners face off" lmao you had to be in the live to witness that outcome great video as always
Story 3 was the FINEST telling of the Lions of Tsavo story that I've ever heard. 🏆
According to another comment, it's a similar incident, but different story, as it takes place 7 years earlier and in Zambia.
Those aren't the only man eating lions, for sure. It wasn't common, but the more people destroy their territory and kill off their usual prey, the more it happens
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving, much love from Colorado 💜
You always seem to release videos when I start a night shift. Love it!
I love the intro - the cryptid walking through the woods. Love it!!!
Tricia, it's no mere cryptid, but a Scandinavian troll.
@ oh, thanks for letting me know 😊 I’m glad I’m not Scandinavian. I think I’d rather take my chances with Big Foot, lol.
