Dang it man, this is too good for YT, Netflix should pay you high dollar for the quality work you deliver. If I were you I would do a pitch for the Savagegeese show and send it to some broadcasting companies.
I watch a lot of car review channels but this one is by far the most indepth, unbiased, and informative one. A random person in the comment section of another video suggested this channel. And now I'm hooked!
You've totally misunderstood veee dub, man. My brother had a 3rd gen golf back in 2000ths, since then I've sat in an endless line of passats, golfs, caravans. They're. just. good. cars. That's it! There is no intrusiveness, no bling, no "look at meeee feel something" type of shit. If you need that, VAG is happy to offer audis and porsches. WV is volks-wagen, dude! It's plain, no personality, but you kinda love it because of that! Everything is extremely well put together, thought-out, and pleasant. There are no crazy space age head- or taillamps from a RAV4 or stupid, childish window hick-up lines from BMW X3. VW are just cars, and they do their job. That's it!
Couldn't agree more. Sure they are plain cars (except maybe GTIs and Golf Rs), but they just get out of the way when you really need to get things done.
Agreed, but it does make it a bit boring. Not for me personally, but I can imagine for a lot of people it does look uninteresting. For me a car needs to be practical and easy to use. Easy is also more safe because you don't need to spend too much time looking into the "smart" interface of a car just to turn your AC up or down a notch (for example).
They are durable, well engineered, beautifully made cars in each of their price points. Their resale values in Europe are the highest or any brand, they are methodically designed and tested in Germany more than any other brand, and its why they are the largest automaker in the world and have been for a few years. The no-nonsense design for what is a non-premium brand is very germanic, but very desirable. No other car company has this much of a culture and loyal customer following.
The C-SUV field is full of "offensive personalities". Thanks to VW for making the Tigaun the way it is - versatile, refined, and mature. No hyperstying, just business. That works for me! The 2.0 T is a proven little engine for a good balance of economy and power. I drove lots of Japanese CUVs - I'll stick with my German designed "Swiss army knife".
The Euro standard wheelbase with the R Line package looks great, but US spec models just look bloated and bland. I think it would be nice if VW gave the US market a 5-seat standard wheelbase version and a low-mid level "sport" trim with nice visual appeal like the R Line. The Honda Fit trim structure is set this way. Different car segment all together, but it's logical, has nice appeal and doesn't cost as much as the top-end trim with similar visual cues.
Good review! - We bought one of these a few months ago and actually find the third row usable for kids (or really short people) without much problem. The second row slides forward and allows egress without much issue - you'd have to go to a much larger vehicle to get better. This is our first VW and I actually like the dash design and color accents across it. True the rest of the interior could benefit from some color accents, but its not hateful. Also you did not mention the panoramic sunroof which is as good if not better than any others in the segment. Lastly, I think it is notable that VW went from a more generic rounded design like the old Tiguan (pronounced "Tee-gwon") and Taureg to this new sharply creased bodywork. I think it looks like a tall Passat wagon, which it essentially is.
What an absolute gem of a reviewer. Let me complement you on the quality and verbal speed of your comments. So many times car reviewers seem like they are so hurried In trying to deliver the information I can't keep up with the plethora of details. I think you are spot on with this take on the VW, however they do the daily trudge fairly well and the four wheel drive is a nice bonus. Keep up the great work! Loved your GT4 review as well.
bro i thought you were the best reviewer then i saw the phantasy star poster but i didn't know how you could get any better than best. love your reviews man keep it up
We love our 2018 Tiguan (our 2010 Wolfsburg edition was totaled when we were rear-ended at a stop sign). Like some other commenters, we like the simplicity of the design and the feeling of spaciousness. But you don’t completely appreciate the Tiguan until you take it off road, which we did for the first time a few months back. Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains (near Yosemite NP), VERY steep, rocky dirt road, a wilderness area with no phone service… For the first time, we put the Tiguan in AWD. It was a WOW-it pretty much drove itself! Coming down the road would have been totally hairy, but the car controlled the brakes and kept us from careening. Now we feel we can go anywhere-and we are two little old ladies! 😊
I am from India; most of the vehicles you review are not even present in my country. But, the fact you are simply one of best reviewer to me. You are precisely informative and do not do any kind of drama! Thank you from the core of my heart. Only thing which I want too see in your videos is about the latest buzz feature; ambient light! Please provide night view of cars with interior lights too. Thank you. Respect from India!!
Great review - except for one (important) thing: As a Tiguan owner I agree with the *vast* majority of your pro/con list. The vehicle is very spacious, got great multimedia, generic/boring design and lame engine (+bad mpg). BUT - your input regarding the 3rd row seats is misleading. I'm 5'10" so if I can seat relatively comfortably in the back seats, no reason you won't, and especially no reason a child won't. I don't know if there's a huge difference between my vehicle (fwd) and the one on the review, but the input about the 3rd row is extremely unbalanced. They are small, of course, but they are also extremely practical, and for a vehicle in this segment that is a MAJOR pro. I'd say that for a buyer who search for practicality (space, safety, equipment, build quality) - the Tiguan should definitely be in the shortlist. For someone who searches for design, performance, uniqueness - look elsewhere. Thanks for the review, you're awesome.
Scott is a staple of this channel that makes sure Mark never goes astray. His sarcasm constantly reminds us that beneath the flashy gimmicks and tricks, these new DI-T CUVs are all JUNK.
I recently leased a 2020 SEL Tiguan. I had shopped the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V EX, Nissan Rogue SL having owned the Rogue 2 times prior. I have to say your assessment is a bit rough in several regards. In comparison to my putting those others against the Tiguan was #1 the Tiguan was the quietest of all of them at highway speeds devoid of wind or road noise #2 the interior while perhaps not as lavish as the CX-5 leather wise, it was a very "conservative" design as you say logically laid out. I preferred the interior layout much to the others....typical Japanese confusion. I appreciated that in particular. It's infotainment system was leagues beyond the others in particular so worth mentioning. The NAV and Sound was also the best of the bunch. #3 here's where I'd completely disagree with your assessment. The SEATS were without a doubt THE MOST comfortable of them all. They were like literally moulded to my wife and my back. The Honda's were a bit squishy. The Mazda's bolsters cut into my thigh. The Nissan's were well.....cheap. The Tiguan seats have a very durable material while emulating the look of leather NOT leather. I've had leather, a pain to keep looking new. A weekly treatment of 303 Aerospace spray and they continually look brand new. Also breathable. The handling and suspension was without a doubt the most "European" of them all. Tight handling but soaked up imperfections without being annoying. The Panoramic sunroof is quite a treat. The quietness at highway speeds was above reproach compared to the utterly noisy Nissan and Honda. So having driven and in some cases owned those others, the Tiguan was the ONE to own in my opinion. I'd say to others drive one and see for yourself.
savagegeese - Can see where you're coming from with this Long Wheel Base, US-spec, low trim level, black interior, converter-auto Tiguan - they're a bit generic, and compete with CRV, Qashqai, CX-5, etc. I'd suggest that the more compact, top trim level, Euro-spec Short Wheel Base Tiguan SEL with the light coloured interior and leather memory seats, the Active Info Display, HUD. LED's and DCC, with it's lovely 7-speed DSG, and maybe the effortless 150ps TDI or the 180 TFSI, is a nice smooth riding, quiet and easy car to live with; and it competes favourably price-wise with an X1, GLC, XC40, Q5, E-Pace, Evoque etc.
couldn't agree more, but VW seems to have given up the NA market since they basically banned the Touareg, EU Passat, EU Tiguan, and instead introduced NA-only Jetta, LWB Tiguan and Atlas
Wonderful review as always. With so many formidable TH-cam car reviewers out there, you stand out with your second-to-none production quality, non-sugarcoated reviews, and useable info. I enjoy the other reviewers as well, but they offer their own brand and flavor. They tend to put out reviews more frequently, but when your videos come out, it's like I'm watching something way better in terms of quality and entertainment. Keep up the great work! Nice job in changing up with the intro.
Love the into;and don't hold back on the third row room either.Your videos are getting better,I appreciate the animation for the haldex, which I had not seen before.Since I am a visual learner ,that nugget told me more than any other video I have seen so far,and I'm an old man now,so thanks for your hard work,it shows nicely!
The Tiguan is good for the base model. You failed to mention its massive warranty 6 year 72k mile transferable bumper to bumper. Combine that with the nice discounts VW hands out and you get one nice car for low 20s. I wouldn't get even the least bit excited about that $34k model.
daren s exactly! I bought my 2019 Tiguan SE FWD in April and it stickered for $28,110 and they too it down to $24,000 and I got them to throw in Window tint, and 3 free oil changes. I’m very happy with it and I find the interior pleasant and durable. I think my only complaint is the lack of power off the line. Once you get going in the Tiguan it’s torque keeps pouring on and it’s easy to pass others even at 65-70 mph on highway. It’s refined, composed, smooth, planted & quiet. I have the 3rd row but it will probably never get used so the cargo capacity is great for my lifestyle. I love the long warranty and hope to get 5-6 years of good service out of my Titanium Gray Tiguan. I only wish the front center armrest was sliding and could be ratcheted up like some of its competition. It even has a CD played in the glove box!
Same infotainment as my 2017 GTI but my GTI has a matte finish screen and it literally shows NO fingerprints. It is literally the best screen in a car I have ever seen. Why would they put a glossy screen in the Tiguan???
Best review on the Tiguan I have seen! However, I think the optional third row is not as bad as you described. I am 5”8 and tested the third row myself. It is fine for short local trip to restaurant, mall or somewhere within 30mins trip. I only have a kid under 4yrs old and I think the third row is handy when friends or parents visit once in a while. Sliding the 1 row & 2nd row seats in front a little makes the 3rd row usable in a pinch. For longer overnight road trip with more than 5 people, I will just rent a minivan. The optional third row is what makes me consider this car. It’s 5+2 rather than a actual 7 seater. If you regularly need to use the 3rd row, then car length like this Tiguan is not what you should be looking at.
Ok so I daily drove the tiguan before this and now I daily drive a 2018 tiguan. The older generation seems to share more parts with a Golf and its much more fun. The new one is fun in regards to its temporaries.
very well done sir. I own the FWD version and I love it. I could not agree more about the personality/lack of but thats a perk for me. Everyone that rides in the vehicle loves how smooth it is, how easy to drive it is, and how quiet it is. They know they aren't getting into a speed machine and thats fine. I have a good feeling it'll last pretty decently and I've had zero buyers remorse. Its a great family car that just goes well to your destination. Were about to head south on a 800 mile road trip and I can't say i'm dreading the drive in the tiguan like i did in my mustang. lol
Hold on a minute... don't forget about de-carbononizing the valves every 20-30,000 miles... oh, and wait for the chain tensioner to go south... of course the engine will then overheat... and the plastic water pump will fail... which of course, makes rear main oil seal fail... and don't look at the flapper valve too long... it will get p.o.'d and blow out... over than these few items, its great.
I had to pause to drop this comment. Thank you for showing day time and night time footage of the interior, it's so nice to see how the instruments look at night. Subscribed!
Why? This is why his reviews are so much more interesting compared to the other TH-cam car video reviews. He doesn't do the same old thing everyone else does.
My parents recently asked me what I would recommend in this segment, and I steered them towards the CR-V. But they stopped at a VW dealership as well and ended up buying a Tiguan SE FWD for 24k! At that price, I couldn't argue with them, it is a great value and $3k cheaper than a CR-V EX. However, at $32k+ it is way too expensive for what it is. That being said, if you want a car at an excellent value, definitely see what the dealer will offer you, because you can get these significantly cheaper than the competition.
I have to disagree with you that the exterior has no personality. Its conservative, that does appeal to many people. I am tired of flamboyant looking cars these days. Its nice to see a simple design. Carbon Cleaning every 30k miles? I doubt that too. Maybe every 70-80k miles. All and all Its a nice looking car. I think I would take a Golf Alltrack over it though if I was looking for a CUV/SUV.
Mr Goose, any plans for a VW Atlas review? I just want to know your thoughts on its driving/handling. I've tested it several times but it's hard to get a good idea with a salesman in the back constantly going on about how it comes standard with carplay. That large segment is full of compromise so I'm pretty sure that the atlas is the right compromise for me. I value your opinion so would like to know what you think of it.
I don’t get how we’re going backwards to plain old halogens in reflectors. We were getting to at least halogen in projectors, and now we took a step back
Excellent review. I like the mechanical insight. Yes, there is a certain utilitarianism to the Tiguan. I like the boxy styling; so many of the curvier designs just seem loopy. The low hood, the big windows and huge views as well as the sheer roominess in the front and second rows are what I like best. The electronic instrument panel on the higher trims is really excellent and intuitive. The adaptive cruise control is the first one I've ever really clicked with. We got two tone (black and Saffron Orange) leather seats and that really makes the interior a lot more interesting. Yeah, it's underpowered, but since it'll be going to my teenage son, that'll keep him out of trouble.
Great review! But I disagree on personality part... simplicity/ "less is more" is the personality of this car. In time, when every car is stuffed with "futuristic" garbage- I thank god VW for commitment to their designs.
I love all the review you did. It fits the taste of a geek and rookie driver. Technical and personal. Good Job! I can't wait to see you doing the VW Atlas after this.
Yeah this Tiguan 2.0 is very dissapointing to me. Made larger for Murica, long wheelbase only, but worse design and power than an ATLAS at a very simlar price point. I don't get it. Tiguan should have stayed the small CUV style SUV, and while Europe gets an incredible looking T-ROC we get this turd.
The T-ROC looks good on the outside but it has kinda nasty hard plastics inside. Feels pretty cheap inside. Optioned out, it can also get very expensive. A 2 liter diesel with 150 HP and some options can go as high as 33,000 Euro, which is way too expensive for a B-segment SUV.
I sat in the new Tiguan at my local auto show. It's conservatively handsome outside, but I found the monochromatic, blandly styled dark gray interior extremely depressing.
Had they tuned this thing to output 220HP, or even went a bit higher and tuned it to 252 like in the Audi A4, I think it'd have been a real hit. I personally like the styling on it and the interior, just he horsepower is way to tiny.
Great review. I do remember how we used to like European car interiors because they were austere and no-nonsense. I guess we're just more demanding now...LOL.
SWB version needs to come to the US, and VW needs to offer the LED headlights and R-Line package as options on lower trims, and APR needs to release a tune for this motor.
"...It literally has basically no personality." Goes on to describe the sober, anonymous, no-bullshit, no gimmicks personality of the car. Practicality and invisibility are a personality. Regular Car Reviews nailed the VW personality in the Phaeton review. This car has plenty of personality when compared to the lowest common denominator faux edgy crap in other brands. It has zero sexiness.
Excellent review. I just purchased this car and I would be 75% in agreement with you with everything you said. The 3rd row is ideal for small children but it works for us.
A. Biniam I just purchased an SE a week ago and I’m mostly pleased, but I regret slightly not getting the AWD. How is yours performing, and are you still happy with yours Tiguan ?
Hmm, Civic style phone holder in the middle, Civic style mesh "squares" on the rear quarter panel, and Civic style hidden dual exhaust vents... They took those design cues, but left the interior bland and monotone? Odd.
The fact that they have a turbo 4 cylinder that makes under 200hp in 2018, and as the only engine option on a 4000 pound SUV is ridiculous. I think VW is just becoming as a whole the brand that is average. There's nothing really exciting about new VW's, however they aren't bad cars either. They're just cars, for people that just want a car.
Thank you Mark, I actually think you took our last conversation to heart. I DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT 3 WEEKS FOR A SAVAGEGEESE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like always, great video bro and thanks for the info on finding the link to your merch. Ordered two shirts last week, should be here today or tomorrow.
TheLeakyFridge, click on the Savagegeese link above. It takes you to the Savagegeese page, on the web page you'll see the actual website link for the Savagegeese.com. At the top of the web site you'll see SG MERCH.
I've always appreciated the fact that Mark doesn't push the whole "please click the subscribe button if you like my content" bullshit during his videos. I actually don't think he's ever said it. And for that reason I don't mind dropping $40 or so on merchandise to help him and the site. Been following Savagegeese since about 10,000 subs so it's been awesome watching the content and quality grow.
He used the third row access incorrectly lol. The deign is purely personal taste obviously. If you like clean lines and functionality then you’ll love it if you appreciate Japanese flare like spaceship styling. Then you won’t be a fan
The car feels so classy to me, especially for the price. Nothing about it looks or feels cheap. Its competitors feel cheaper. They often look sportier or more playful, but they don't feel classy to me, and the vw is classy. The materials and build quality are great. Features galore while still feeling simple and refined. I don't personally drive a car to go fast or do anything crazy, so what I typically look for is quality, comfortability, and ease of use. This is a car built for people like me. It's a little generic on the outside, but the interior is just.... nice. It feels good to be in this car.
That exhaust design is was also used on the SQ5. I think the rumor was it was because of the higher amounts of particulates in direct injected engines. Avoiding the sooty exhaust tip look.
The intro reminds of Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World". The Delta's were so happy to be Delta's and not have to think or propose challenging questions.
Looked at these as well as every other option in this segment. You name it we test drove it. From this Tiguan to a Q5, Q7, X3, X5, Grand Cherokee, MKC etc etc. We ended up buying a Ford Edge Sport. The wife loves it. It’s nice. And is surprisingly quick for its weight/size. AWD of course.
@@CRVgarage dude, vw makes some of the most solid, practical, and we cars. In Europe we get SEAT & ŠKODA, which have all of the benefits of a VW but look cool.
Interesting... Golf Alltrack owner here. I see no reason why anyone would buy one of these unless "ermahgerd, need SUV!" or you really need the (useless) 3rd row seat. At the same price, and 600lbs heavier, and a 2.0T that's been detuned from the old version (look it up, old Tiguan was 200hp, and in the GTI it's 220, and in the R it's 292), I just don't get it. The inside looks EXACTLY the same as the alltrack - in fact I think the alltrack looks nicer. As for other specs, the Alltrack: is faster 0-60, gets better mileage, probably handles better due to being more planted, and has more cargo capacity. And this is all with the Alltrack's smaller 1.8T engine. I just don't get it...
Great review as usual, I did test drive the Tiguan and most of its competitors when looking for our next family vehicle and as an owner of a 2015 GTI I had high hopes for the new Tiguan. We ultimately chose the Cx5 GT as our vehicle, and after 1 month of ownership my family and I are truly glad we did. The combination of quiet interior, polished ride, and sharp looks as well as value for your money on the Cx5 are a winning combination for us that the Tiguan couldnt match... Test drive them both for sure...
Good video, I have the 2020 Tiguan SE fwd not AWD and love it, the third row is only for 1st graders, lol but it's roomy and quiet, maybe the FWD is a bit quicker I have no complaints about performance and maintenance is super simple. I average 27 mpg and get 32 on the highway so that's very good. Keep up the videos they are great
I had pretty much the same issues with it. The fuel economy for a 4 cylinder sucks. The seats are pretty bad, and the V-Tex fabric is just one of the absolute worst I've had against my skin. There's just no breath-ability whatsoever. Seening as you have to spend an obscene amount to get leather by optioning up to the top end SEL, I'd rather just get the base with cloth seats.
I haven't owned a VW for the last 30 years and watching this video i felt so well and right seeing that i haven't missed much. The same old boring faceless German product idea-less technology sold without any reason more expensive than other Asia competitors. I can only say one thing that you cant say in a review like this which has also another perspective the presentation. This thing might be easy to maintain but it is going to need a lot of maintenance that is certain. I dont think also that someone could present this product better than you Mark. Excellent work. One more thing! Are you still seeing the girl??lol
the quality of the films you produce is amazing. I congratulate you on your skills, I admire your hard work. I watch your films with great pleasure. Greetings from Poland.
This S.G. video has Spielberg level quality without the stupid and deceitful Hollywood ending. I have to say the comparison with cardboard at the end was a little unfair to cardboard.
I really wish you would include a link to your music selections used in the vehicle. I love paddling songs."Me Getting the Belt Beating" , "Sam Gets the Belt"and the campfire favorite "I Got Paddled in the 7th Grade" It reminds me of my youth in the orphanage. I can see why Turbowski called in his shrimp allergy excuse. For twice the amount I can have an X3 and really, that seems preferable. I mentioned the X3 to the Mrs. and the sell everything plan and she seems open to it. Too bad for VW this car seems just fine. Disappointing. Great reviews, I wouldn't trust anyone else.
I like VW interiors because they work and I prefer non descript to somebody idea of "smart and edgy". A bit surprised to see a regular automatic transmission though, we get the DSG in Europe.
I just bought a 2006 Touareg V8 two days ago on May 1st, 2020... with the air suspension and center and rear diff locks. I am looking forward to this review!
F that car and its milquetoast execution. When you get into the GTI you will see the personality and design which the Biguan is failing to execute. That engine is pathetic for a vehicle that heavy. The exhaust tells you everything you need to know. I saw the fake vents in a showroom and knew at that moment that this car is a failure. Thank you for your service to humanity in reviewing this car. You make it seem way better than it actually is. I hope you didn't lose some of your soul doing it. Onward to better things. Let this poor thing slide off the cliff of irrelevance as it deserves.
Except for the high amount of sarcasm, very nice review, professional, well structured. Congratulations! I own a 2019 Tiguan Trendline, which here in Europe is the short wheelbase. The one you have in America is the long wheelbase which we simply call Tiguan Allspace.
I agreed with this guy 100 percent, nice review, we just got one for the wife and I thought the same thing just waiting for winter for the real reason we got it.
Dang it man, this is too good for YT, Netflix should pay you high dollar for the quality work you deliver. If I were you I would do a pitch for the Savagegeese show and send it to some broadcasting companies.
It's there on amazon prime! Not everything, some of the videos.
Is this a mini series?
Agreed.
This guys reviews are on a another level for sure.
Abhinav Patel such a shame that it is only available on USA prime ...
I watch a lot of car review channels but this one is by far the most indepth, unbiased, and informative one. A random person in the comment section of another video suggested this channel. And now I'm hooked!
In the Straight Pipes? They are both great at videography.
TassieLorenzo yeap that channel!
This is what we call a REVIEW ... We need reviews like this who explains ever thing.
These were my thoughts also.
I love ever one
@@rg3or279 I love ever one too
I think the design of this car is like an iPhone: beautifully simplistic
You've totally misunderstood veee dub, man. My brother had a 3rd gen golf back in 2000ths, since then I've sat in an endless line of passats, golfs, caravans. They're. just. good. cars. That's it! Amazing
The Euro standard wheelbase with the R Line package looks great, but US spec models just look bloated and bland. That intro piano is the monster music from Phantasy Star 1, too.
I feel like I probably argued with SavageGeese in Phantasy Star Online at some point.
We love our 2018 Tiguan (our 2010 Wolfsburg edition was totaled when we were rear-ended at a stop sign).
The bald weenie pushed the second row seats all the way back because he wanted us to see his butt crack. Geese is a short little guy.
I miss the dissapointment of Turbowski
Scott is a staple of this channel that makes sure Mark never goes astray. His sarcasm constantly reminds us that beneath the flashy gimmicks and tricks, these new DI-T CUVs are all JUNK.
seriously where is that dingus?
Clean design is what I like, functional, German designed, not like inside of a alien space ship
THANK YOU ALAN FOWLER FOR TAKING THIS CHANNEL TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
He also forgets to mention the panoramic sunroof. He doesn’t even open it up. And that color. Eeeek.. he picked the worst color to review.
SteveB BKNY glaring omission yes.
daren s exactly!
VW makes the best looking interiors.
I do not get how they are "boring"
Imagine if this Tiguan had the Atlas's 276 HP V6 engine as an option.
Ok so I daily drove the tiguan before this and now I daily drive a 2018 tiguan. The older generation seems to share more parts with a Golf and its much more fun. The new one is fun in regards to its temporaries.
@@johnbacon4997 I have a 2018 also. It's at 52k miles and so far has been a great car
very well done sir. Were about to head south on a 800 mile road trip and I can't say i'm dreading the drive in the tiguan like i did in my mustang. lol
Love the intro, and how you thematically tie it into the overall thought of the vehicle.
can I just say how much I appreciated you using the term "flac" without even flinching; just said it and kept on going. as it should be.
Too harsh ? We expect #savage and nothing less.
Affalterbach 1967 theres nothing Savage about the tiguan, its as forgettable as a halftime super bowl performance
I wouldn't call it harsh. His impressions fall very much in line with other reviews of this Tiguan.
DN, That is why there is a 10 foot pole retailer located alongside every VW dealership.
dan noyes 6 year/72,000 mile warranty! And there are established methods/additives to clean GDI engines (but I still hate them).
Plastic water pump is on BMW
That’s got Yankee shit boxes, keep moving
Extended warranty solves all these problems.
I had to pause to drop this comment. Thank you for showing day time and night time footage of the interior, it's so nice to see how the instruments look at night. Subscribed!
That intro killed me
Why? This is why his reviews are so much more interesting compared to the other TH-cam car video reviews. He doesn't do the same old thing everyone else does.
JC4 , I know right. It made me finally hit the Subscribe button.

@@sorgster oof that didn’t age well, did it
My parents recently asked me what I would recommend in this segment, and I steered them towards the CR-V.
Dave Travels couldn’t agree more. I needed a 3rd row SUV and this was the best value for the dollar
Love the pace of the presentation, the content, the beautiful video quality - good job!
He must have a PhD in sarkasm, cold as ice.
I don’t get how we’re going backwards to plain old halogens in reflectors. We were getting to at least halogen in projectors, and now we took a step back
Grant Rodgers Blame VW North America. They take all the equipment off of them that Europe gets.
this is what bothers me about this SUV the most.
you are still one of my fav car reviewers to watch! Such a good review
That 2.0tsi is in every dang Volkswagen ever made in the past 10 years lol.
Great review! But I disagree on personality part... simplicity/ "less is more" is the personality of this car. In time, when every car is stuffed with "futuristic" garbage- I thank god VW for commitment to their designs.
Only a week between reviews this time? Thank you for your effort :)
Mr Goose is very open about the scheduling challenges over on his patreon.
Amazing guy
I love all the review you did. It fits the taste of a geek and rookie driver. Technical and personal. Good Job! I can't wait to see you doing the VW Atlas after this.
Like that shot when he got into the car, closing the door for the “driving experience” part.
Is ATLAS a better buy?
Robert Cheung yes
Netcruzer RC TECH CARS the t roc might look great, but is full with hard plastics, good quality but hard plastics.
Nah Tiguan redesign is great due to the fact that this is a product to sell. it sells! T-Roc is what you are looking for but not in North Amercia
I sat in the new Tiguan at my local auto show. It's conservatively handsome outside, but I found the monochromatic, blandly styled dark gray interior extremely depressing.
I love when mark does the interiors
You should list the 1 year, 4 year, and 7 year maintenance costs. It would highlight unexpected maintenance costs like DSG servicing.
They did a software update to the transmission. It got a little better and getting going.
The DSG is great here in Europe, idk why they sell an AISIN for America
Excellent review. I just purchased this car and I would be 75% in agreement with you with everything you said. The 3rd row is ideal for small children but it works for us.
A. Biniam I just purchased an SE a week ago and I’m mostly pleased, but I regret slightly not getting the AWD. How is yours performing, and are you still happy with yours Tiguan ?
The interior channels some aspects of the 90s. It'll probably age better than a lot of competitors.
This is my new favorite show, we just bought one and we love the Tiguan. I had to get used to the name. I love your review and sense of humor.
Glad to have please do with a proper release date. Let me know how the shirts are it's kind of a test right now.
Will do, I ordered the tri-blend....one long sleeve and one short sleeve.
I gotta say...austere interiors age very well. They may feel generic to some, but imo, VW nails simple elegance.
Maybe Toyota is better
He used the third row access incorrectly lol. The deign is purely personal taste obviously. If you like clean lines and functionality then you’ll love it if you appreciate Japanese flare like spaceship styling. Then you won’t be a fan
This made my day. As always, amazing work Savage. Love the shot of getting into the driver seat right before the "driving impressions" came up
The car feels so classy to me, especially for the price.
Killed it! Intro was awesome.
I got the car, and am loving it ! SE 4M
Awesome
How is it holding up so far?
@@CRVgarage dude, vw makes some of the most solid, practical, and we cars.
In Europe we get SEAT & ŠKODA, which have all of the benefits of a VW but look cool.
It's a great SUV.
This thing is gigantic as well. The Tiguan used to be tiny and compact.
Right - Tiguan used to be Golf sized, now it's Sportwagen sized.
It’s not really detuned, it’s a new engine that uses a turbo atkinson cycle
The R also has a larger turbo and FMIC. Not really apples to apples. The Golf R has the same powertrain as an S3 or TTS.
Golf Sportwagen owner here and no interest to trade. Fwd 5MT 1.8 I can get very nice mpg, like 30/40 hwy at least. I get the mass market appeal.
Had a 1.6 TSI 16’ Jetta rental for 3 days and I almost wanted to Uber the whole time in FL strong 3/10 car lol
I think you need some blur there on Barbara's number in the beginning, someone might be getting odd phone calls.
Except it's obviously fake? It's an 800 number.
Thanks for the Alan Fowler reference!
Keep up the videos they are great
Finally a reviewer who is thinking what I was thinking.....these new VW are the most boring cars ever made!
really appreciate the underbody showing. Nice review!
I love the playlist on your phone. Keep up the great work!
Whoah that Phantasy Star poster then the combat song from the first game!
...Barbra’s last name is Centipede?
I love these type of intros in your videos
the quality of the films you produce is amazing.
Definitely unfair to cardboard.
Which Spielberg film is like this video? 1941 maybe.
One of the most freakin underrated channels on youtube.
HOLY CINEMATOGRAPHY, IMPRESSIVE
Dude, your personality matches the vehicle perfectly!
Comedy
A german car, mostly manufactured in Mexico with direct injection... this thing is going to be a nightmare beyond year 3.
Your reviews are like a really nice bottle of wine.
I just bought a 2006 Touareg V8 two days ago on May 1st, 2020... with the air suspension and center and rear diff locks. I am looking forward to this review!
The most wonderful SUV.
The swinging camera on the door was great!
I liked that.
Damn. You are now my number 1 car reviewer. Alex on Autos is number 2.
Except for the high amount of sarcasm, very nice review, professional, well structured. Congratulations! I own a 2019 Tiguan Trendline, which here in Europe is the short wheelbase. The one you have in America is the long wheelbase which we simply call Tiguan Allspace.
Its a good daily driver car
I agreed with this guy 100 percent, nice review, we just got one for the wife and I thought the same thing just waiting for winter for the real reason we got it.
