When i was about 8 y/o my uncle had someone break into his home and start beating his roommate to death with a lead pipe. Dude was a tweaker from the neighborhood and had completely lost his mind one night. My uncle, in crutches after a bad motorcycle accident, had to kill this guy with a shotgun while he could barely stand. There isnt a self defense option available that would have saved his life that night EXCEPT for a gun. Completely shaped my view on gun ownership regardless of my politics outside of guns.

Fun fact: The suppressor and the car muffler are the same patent, invented by Hiram Percy Maxim, the son of Sir Hiram Maxim, inventor of the machine gun.
*The Maxim and Vickers. The Gatling gun is both a machine gun and not, depending on what definitions you use. The ATF for example, does NOT consider it a machine gun
The name "Silcener" itself is a misnomer, as it doesn't silence a firearm but suppresses both the Flash Signature and the Sound (slightly). Also helps dampen Recoil.
Why do non gun owners care so much about gun laws. Like maybe just stop and think about how banning guns won’t get rid of them. Any criminal that wants a gun will just buy one illegally like cmon now
Same crap my local fudds would say in my range even though it's literally named after the company and the guns they made say AR aren't ARs in their definition.
Probably comes from Russia because the Russian supply depot officers are known to double as arms dealers to compensate for their meager wages. There's a reason why British gangs refer to guns as "Russians".
As an Australian, people who say that we've "solved" our gun crime issue clearly haven't heard of the many gangs we have here that have basically free access to any gun they want through the black market. Melbourne and Sydney are hotspots for shootings. Other than that, I'm pro 2A, full stop. My room would double as an armory if I could afford it.
You’re absolutely correct. Once you’ve allowed the general public to own and buy a gun, it’s just borderline impossible to undo that. Even if you did, it did practically nothing to stop gun crime. There’s no going back. Whether you’re pro-gun or anti-gun, people should be aware of that. Japan, for example, has banned the general public from buying or owning a gun (with eventually some exceptions) very long ago when Japan unified in 1600. Since then, Japan had very little gun crime. Basically if you want to ban guns, do it before it’s too late.

It's like the left learned nothing from the black panthers. If you can't physically defend yourself from the government, you WILL be trodden upon by it. Thankfully I've been seeing more and more pro-gun leftists, so not all is lost. Like, the big vs small government talk is nonsense when its generalising either wing (considering that for every anti-government right wing position (e.g. taxation) there's at least one pro-government right wing position, e.g. abortion, trans healthcare, migration, state laws vs fed law, military funding, etc), *but* when it comes to gun control (or freedom of speech in cases outside the US, e.g. Brazil), it's just true. Unless you FIRST demilitarise the police, UK style, removing guns from the people is just gonna create the perfect breeding grounds for actual fascism.
23:00 you forgot one thing about that study: every single other factor they looked at increased chance of death more than owning firearms, including living in a poor area, living in a rich area, being black, being hispanic, and having a family.
A couple of years ago I went to Ireland for a week with a couple of classmates after I graduated high school. While I was there i had like 3 or 4 debates on guns. As much as I wanted to say I knew a lot about guns, I did not, I didn't even own one yet. When I got back from the trip I realized how ignorant I was about gun ownership, and bought one loved it, then I bought another and another and so on. Now I love my guns. So, thank you Ireland for informing me that I need another gun.
40:13 I am a Russian. Not many people know this, and not even all Russians know this, but we sold the Alaska territory to the US back in 1867. SOLD. Not rented, not surrendered, SOLD. Yes, that might have been foolish of us, but we did it, and there is no going back. I cringe every time I hear about this "reclamation of Alaska."
I live in New Zealand where we have an excessively restrictive set of rules about guns, especially considering that gangs such as the mongrel mob (the largest gang in New Zealand) carry guns and usually have a fuck ton of them in gang dens. You literally have to have a special endorsement on your licence to own a pistol in New Zealand, and oh right, you can't even bring it out of your house. Crazy right? I know as I had to go through this shit getting a pistol, which I not only have to keep inside of my house, I have to store it in a gun safe at all times when I am not using it in the very rare case of self defence (other than competition shooting or going out to my mate in the country's farm to do some practise out there). Honestly I think it's a travesty that your government is trying to restrict weapons so severely in you country as it seriously conflicts with the second amendment. I also which to move to America for several reasons, but also because of the fact that shit is so restrictive here. I hope to god that none of these insane laws get passed, as it's the people who use weapons illegally that cause problems all most entirely, and it's not like changing laws will change that as you have said several times, criminals don't care about the law. At about 0:26 I just damm noticed that the character in the gameplay is reloading his lever action like a shotgun, like cmon the side loading gate is RIGHT THERE!
Willing to bet they didnt have enough budget for an animated loading gate. And to be fair, a lever action could work like that, still cursed as hell though.
Most game devs never have real guns and that game was developed before you could just youtube how literally every gun works. The first couple modern warfare games used airsoft guns for their models for instance
This game actually has a loading gate reload animation, but it switches to the 0:26 variant (don't know how it's called, eng is not my native language) if you take a quick reload perk. It's a rather theatrical move, but techland had included it intentionally. It also changes other guns' reloads, only sometimes you physically cannot come up with a realistic way to do so

"Australia did a ban and it worked." I am so sick of hearing this. Firstly, violent crime spiked in the year after the gun ban, kidnappings most of all, and didn't decline to the pre-ban levels until the late 2000s. Secondly, it didn't stop mass killings. Psychopaths simply switched to arson, burning down buildings with dozens of people inside. Thirdly, it didn't stop criminals from getting guns. Just take a look at any Australian state police X account and you'll see them praising themselves for seizing guns that, even though we live on an island, still made it into the country. Finally, the buyback didn't even work. Less than a third of all registered guns were recovered in the confiscation.

Always, every time. They call slow erosion “compromising” because it’s slow instead of fast, they will always want more next year. It isn’t a compromise if you hand something over and get nothing in return, you want universal background checks and licensing then give us our semi-autos and high capacity mags back
as a canadian i wish we had more freer gun purchasing options, but the laws, man, my texas friend thought it was nuts with how gun owners of restricted firearms need permission from the police to bring a hand gun to the range

Oh wait they kind of already have but hey I’m sure you totally trust the government right? Because they could never do anything wrong at all! Totally not! So I’m a Canadian and I’ll say this for anyone that still hasn’t gotten the point: Gun control doesn’t work! Here in Canada we have the single most anti-gun gov’t in the history of our nation and we are also facing the worst violent crime rates we’ve ever had, 30% worse than 10 years ago. If gun control works, then explain the horrible uptick in violence up here. But even if that wasn’t the case, I’d still be against gun control. For the basic fact that it’s a gross misuse of our respective justice systems. We live in free nations, governed by the rule of law. It is not morally righteous to limit an individual’s access to their privately owned, lawfully obtained property without individual due process. By definition, gun control is punishing law abiding citizens without evidence of wrongdoing, or ill intent, and it spits in the face of the entire point of western justice: innocent until proven guilt. Oh and fuck “compromise.” By virtue of where I was born I had to go through a rigorous safety course, passing with no less than an 80% on a written test and practical demonstration, then I had to pay with a submission for a firearm license, then I had to wait 6 months for that license to arrive. Then I could go and buy an AR-15, which I have to wait no less than 3 days after paying for it before I could take it home, have strict storage regulations I have to follow, I can’t shoot it anywhere besides a gov’t approved gun range and I can go to prison for 10 years if I didn’t follow those laws to the letter. But I do all of that in the name of “compromise.” But what happens? One asshole on the other end of the country, who acquired all of his firearms illegally, went on a shooting spree, causing the most deadly mass you know what in CDN history, and now because of that POS now I can’t be trusted to own an AR? No, that’s beyond compromise, that’s beyond injustice, that’s beyond unethical! It’s tyrannical overreach, plain and simple!
Want a better example? Here in Brazil we have one of the MOST STRICT GUN LAWS IN THE WORLD and we have more firearms death per MONTH than the US per YEAR
All the people pushing for stricter gun laws reminds me of what Zola said in Captain America the winter soldier, "Hydra created a world so chaotic, that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom, to gain its security"

Every single argument he made came down to emotional pleas and a need for security while I acknowledged that with freedom comes the responsibility of handling yourself and others regardless, especially if you used your freedom to protect the freedom and liberty of others. We agreed ti disagree, but a lot of what I heard there was eerily familiar to the anti-gun talking points we usually hear.

@diamondhamster4320 my point still stands as well. We live in a country where a law-abiding citizen is guaranteed the right to own a firearm of their choosing. The justification of "because I think it's cool and I want one" is completely sufficient.

In the original game, the developers used the period accurate Smith & Wesson Model 10 and Model 27 respectively for those weapons. I'm actually proud my country banned handguns. Pointing and firing a gun is significantly easier than doing gym and learning to stab with a knife or do martial arts. Gun violence is not a statistic I want to come back, I don't want my life to end in seconds because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Look. Handguns require pratice just like martial arts, unless youre shooting at a large target thats within 20 feet of you, your not going to be a good shot, the size of the handgun matters aswell, an untrained person with a subcompact 9mm wont be able to hit the broadside of barn. A rifle or shotgun is much easier to put rounds on target with less training. Glad your happy with your countries laws, but most americans like myself are seeing our government strip away rights and we are not going to give up anymore, atleast i hope lol
What rights are being stripped away? The amendment protects your right to bear arms, so restricting choice of arms is the most Congress is going to allow. You can still end lives with the pull of a trigger and that's the American way. Another thing about martial arts is they're defensive techniques. Most of them are pretty bad at subduing fleeing opponents until you get them in a grapple or on the edge of a pike. But guns are all marksmanship, size and strength no longer matter until your gun surpasses a certain kickback + weight bracket. It's an offensive technique designed to kill, and that's what annoys me with this video. Guns are designed to kill unlike kitchen knives or fire axes, and that's why I'm perfectly content with my country keeping them under lock and key. If America wants their guns they can keep them, don't drag my country's name through the mud like we're an outlier though. This video is right to identify that violent individuals will resort to any means to cause harm, which is why handguns are banned - to significantly reduce potential harm. hello, i've just watched your video an it was an excellent watch As an Australian and a firearm enthusiast I wanted to add on a few points; 1 - There are more private firearms in circulation in Australia than there was in 1996 and before any other point in history 2 - Australia's peak of firearm ownership during 2020-2022 saw its lowest murder rate in history and is continually low despite extreme highs of private ownership 3 - gel blasters are prohibited weapons in WA and VIC, controlled weapon in QLD, a CAT A firearm in SA and prohibited firearms (i,e machine guns) in every other state/territory 4 - Firearms licencing/registries have been used for exactly what you would say would happen - In 2015 owners of lever action shotguns risked losing their licence if they held more than 5 rounds, in 2023, firearm owners of rifles in WA larger than .300 WIN MAG had their firearms seized due to a legislation change and again in 2024 firearm owners are having their firearms seized due to another change in legislation about 'prohibited persons', i.e a person who had an assualt charge 20years ago, applied for a firearms licence, got denied, appealed the decision and was granted a licence is now having it revoked. 5- gun control has not prevent criminals from getting firearms, in QLD bikies have full auto SKS and in VIC immigrant gangs are giving 17 years olds full-auto type 56 rifles and in Sydney there is a drive by shooting every week.
Yesterday I was at my cousins and we got in an argument about guns he tried to use the “because grips and stocks make guns more accurate that means it’s more deadly”
These people always forget that all those fancy war machines are great at warring, and not so great at policing. An F-35 can’t stand on the street corner and direct traffic, nor can it clear a building. A USN Carrier fleet isn’t going to break down your door at 3 in the morning, show you a search and seize warrant and look for contraband. I do kinda want to see tanks doing pit maneuvers though, that sounds like it could be fun to watch.
Regardless of how advanced a country's air force and navy is, at the end of the day, teams of men armed with rifles and pistols are what is needed to occupy territory and take mission-critical objectives. The tanks and the planes and the artillery simply aid those men in making their way to the objectives. The fancy machines are really good at destroying infrastructure, but they don't work well _at all_ when you need to take a piece of infrastructure without breaking it.
One that you forgot (likely in tier 3) is the "x amount of school 'poopings' this year," argument. What those articles do is take unrelated incidents that happened off school property, NDs/ADs, Tazer deployments, and actual airsoft guns, and put them into that list to inflate numbers. I'd wager that these lists of the dozens of school 'incidents' in an alotted time, are at least 95% what I mentioned earlier.
Biggest problem is that guns are a significant part of US Culture, yet we are all taught literally nothing about them in our education system, causing many anti-gun individuals to base their knowledge on the civilian market from various movies, games and TV shows. Also, the biggest thing I noticed is that a lot of anti-gun individuals would rather the military and police be the only ones to have firearms, yet at the same time, they agree with gun owners that lazy/corrupt cops can easily cause you to wait for hours or not even come at all. If you agree that cops are not reliable in the US, then why would you ONLY want them to have access to firearms? Sure, I could get some pepperspray or a taser, but why would I want tools that disorient a threat when I could get a gun and immediately stop that threat without further risks to my safety? We also gotta ask: What about the elderly? The physically disabled? The physically weak? Should they just be left with no means to protect their own lives while being some of the easiest targets for crime?
This video was so well thought out, researched, and then put together that I have nothing but applause. format was awesome kind of like a Bladed Angel video
The suppressor thing will never cease to baffle me. You KNOW the government has no clue what they're doing when something a draconian police state like the UK considers a 'safety device' is instead a highly-regulated NFA item in the 'Land of the "Free"'
Have you considered the potential harm suppressors can have in a busy crowd? The loud bangs from an unsuppressed gun gives the signal to scatter in the event of a rogue firearm handler, if it's muted, the only tell will be the screams.
@scrittle Have you ever heard a suppressed weapon? Unless they are shooting subsonic ammo it still sounds like a loud bang. Real life is not like the movies.
@@afoxinaviators4105 Check out a few suppressor videos (Average Gunslinger's '300 Blackout AR Suppressed) and you'll quickly realise how wrong you are.
@scrittle yes, 300BLK, a round designed specifically for subsonic use on short-barreled suppressed weapons is indeed quite quiet, just like I said above. However, on almost every other weapon it is not as quiet. I don't need to watch videos on it, as I have been around and fired suppressed weapons in real life, and the volume varies based upon build and caliber. But hey, I'm absolutely willing to take the risk that someone makes a high speed silent 300blk build and uses it in a mass shooting, because the chances of that are pretty fucking slim. Your argument is like trying to say we need to ban engines because someone can make a car that goes over the speed limit.

Oh and fuck “compromise.”
By virtue of where I was born I had to go through a rigorous safety course, passing with no less than an 80% on a written test and practical demonstration, then I had to pay with a submission for a firearm license, then I had to wait 6 months for that license to arrive.

Gun violence is not a statistic I want to come back, I don't want my life to end in seconds because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

@@Underqualified_GunmanCool fanfiction, now lets look at crime rates for first world countries....
Nobody's going to slaughter dozens of people with knives like they could with a gun. *To re-assure the Americans who think our policemen carry guns, they don't. Our policemen aren't allowed guns either, only a special tactical group are allowed guns.*

I was gonna say, bro gave a very dishonest representation of what that rhetoric is about. The gun rights that white people know have often not applied to minority communities. You mean like the politicians pro gun morons vote for?
Came for the discussion stayed for the TF2.
"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."
I'll let them repeal the 2nd amendment, when they let me repeal the 19th.
!!THE ABOVE USER WAS FOUND SLOSHING THE BIG SPLONK!!
No bugger that just repeal the 19th
That’s a bad trade
hello, i've just watched your video an it was an excellent watch
As an Australian and a firearm enthusiast I wanted to add on a few points;
1 - There are more private firearms in circulation in Australia than there was in 1996 and before any other point in history
2 - Australia's peak of firearm ownership during 2020-2022 saw its lowest murder rate in history and is continually low despite extreme highs of private ownership
3 - gel blasters are prohibited weapons in WA and VIC, controlled weapon in QLD, a CAT A firearm in SA and prohibited firearms (i,e machine guns) in every other state/territory
4 - Firearms licencing/registries have been used for exactly what you would say would happen - In 2015 owners of lever action shotguns risked losing their licence if they held more than 5 rounds, in 2023, firearm owners of rifles in WA larger than .300 WIN MAG had their firearms seized due to a legislation change and again in 2024 firearm owners are having their firearms seized due to another change in legislation about 'prohibited persons', i.e a person who had an assualt charge 20years ago, applied for a firearms licence, got denied, appealed the decision and was granted a licence is now having it revoked.
5- gun control has not prevent criminals from getting firearms, in QLD bikies have full auto SKS and in VIC immigrant gangs are giving 17 years olds full-auto type 56 rifles and in Sydney there is a drive by shooting every week.
This is one of the greatest TH-cam videos I've ever seen. You've earned an enthusiastic subscriber.
Yesterday I was at my cousins and we got in an argument about guns he tried to use the “because grips and stocks make guns more accurate that means it’s more deadly”
Wait until he hears about the Turkish shooter in the Olympics
@KE8NUF An airgun no less
I'm from Detroit. Gun control means consistently hitting what you aim at. Simple as.
You should make that video on the arms trade treaty that sounds like a super interesting rabbit hole
"I can now debunk EVERY reason why I shouldn't have a gun!"
"You can't afford it."
*"F*CK!"*
the last teer needs mental help Jesus
Watching a lever action be loaded from the bottom when there is an obvious side gate pains me
One that you forgot (likely in tier 3) is the "x amount of school 'poopings' this year," argument.
They also exclude gang related ones which inflatecthe numbers around 1k%
@13:40 HOLY FUCK! I really thought that his name was Raul Menendez, I nearly shat myself!
This video was so well thought out, researched, and then put together that I have nothing but applause. format was awesome kind of like a Bladed Angel video
Bro uploading at midnight 💀
Yes I can tell
The suppressor thing will never cease to baffle me. You KNOW the government has no clue what they're doing when something a draconian police state like the UK considers a 'safety device' is instead a highly-regulated NFA item in the 'Land of the "Free"'
“Baffle” heheheh
As a resident of Illinois, it makes me cringe how you say.
Illinois. The s is silent.
But it's all good, lol😂
Gonna blame that on my schools, all my teachers in my life called it Illinois with a s 😭
No such thing as an assault rifle, btw. Just like how America is a Republic, not a democracy...
No there is such a thing. He used the correct definition.
Lean into it. It can be an LMG it doesn't matter. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED don't give an inch
The Founding Fathers literally owned cannons and a fucking Navy, not an inch should be given. Never another Wounded Knee
"You do realize members of the military and LE have souls, right?"
Lost it, absolutely lost it
I put my 8 day Talk Tuah podcast marathon on pause to watch this video.
