Sarazin trainer : "he has taken trajectories that are forbidden. It is impossible to hold the line if you take them. But Sarazin is maverick, has the longest skis and is able to handle them to the perfection. He should have never managed to keep his line, but he did."

I haven't missed a single Streif-race in 35 years and when Odermatt finished his run I thought that this was the most perfect run down the Streif ever. But what Sarazin then did, was out of this world, simply incredible!

Des skis de 2.23 qu'il maîtrise, il rentre dans la pente les skis en avant pour arriver à 113.8 , il met 0.64 centièmes sur cette portion à Marco c'est stratosphérique, c'est surnaturel☝️😫
Odermatt came down and crushed it with a time way over a second ahead of everyone else; and then Sarrezin came down and crushed THAT by almost a second. That’s extraordinary! On both their parts.
Congrats to Ryan Cochrane-Seigel for the 4th and 5th places too. He’s skiing well; consistently well.
Congrats to Domme Paris too, who is a legend.

Thank You Ski Patrol for the exceptional high quality and format of FIS Alpine races. It's better than the official FIS Alpine videos which don't show a racer's complete run. Worse, they speed up the film and don't provide full commentary.
It also needs to be said that FIS Alpine wouldn't be possible without local ski patrols, EMS and Medivac. With teams of patrollers stationed along the course, they are on scene within seconds for any incident. Implementing breathing, circulatory, bleeding, immobilization, shock and transport protocols is paramount.

Great comparison. One can see Sarazin taking a tighter line and amazingly holding it. But will he be as consistent as the great Franz Klammer? This is still one of the greatest downhills, especially at Kitzbuehl.

Were these races the best ever races on the Streif?
One of the best ever races was surely the run from Didier Cuche in 2011. Like a fast train on rails. The run from Stefan Eberharter in 2004 was also superb and also very aesthetic.

Yes indeed @BikeArea, now that you mention it. And in response to 'why'... maybe the one responsible for it is gone (on German TV that was Markus Wasmaier) and therefore that interesting way of analysis is also gone. Somewhere in the videos on my YT-account I still have those analysis of Markus Wasmeier.

It's really a pitty they don't use it anymore, it was such a fantastic demonstration of what can be achieved using modern image processing let alone the additional insights it offered for the viewer. 👌
@@BikeArea By the way, the software is called "SimulCam" and was made by a Swiss company called Dartfish. They do tons of various image analysis software for sports. That doesn't answer your question regarding why it isn't used anymore, though ^_^

Ce qui prouve que sur le matériel de Sarrasin, se trouvait une installation technique miniaturisée made in franch.
