My new thermostat isn’t doing its job right, Firestone says it’s probably due to the aftermarket brand that it fits on the car but not rated for it🤷🏽♂️ idk I did my water pump and housing and reservoir myself and same vehicle 🫠
Did you check or change out the auxiliary pump? It’s located under the coolant full tank. That will push fluid through the system and get rid of any air bubbles. My issue was a combination of things including this failing.
@@petescarport I haven’t yet due to when I did start to fill it, I had the car cold and heater on 89f level 1 fan speed, topped off with the coolant and only turned the key for electrical only and you can feel and hear that lil pump turn on and see it eat up the coolant to continue to fill. After I get off work im going to buy the anti spill funnel to try and let the system warm up till it eats the coolant in it🤦🏽♂️ but yeah the new parts are currently (radiator, water pump, housing, thermostat and I flushed and drained all that orange Dex cool coolant and swapped over to 2 gals of green concentrate and 1/2 gal of 50/50 yellow universal and they both say they are compatible and can mix together, just still missing 1/2 of the rest of the concentrate and it’s just a little under the rating level of freezing point/boiling point due to the air in the system to make it good🤦🏽♂️)

I did mine and it was a lot of work. Mine was stuck open and never get up to temp

Update, I replaced my radiator too but still overheated due to pockets of air in the system 🤦🏽♂️
