She's been working very hard behind the scenes as most vice presidents do. So far this year, she's held a lot of speaking events which the media has failed to cover. I hope that changes. Her work with the Mexican and Central American governments gets little coverage but it is extensive and is paying off as those countries are working with the U.S. to keep those who wish to immigrate here in their home countries safe there, start the immigration process in their own home countries while in a safe environment so that they don't feel the need to take the risky trail to our borders, but can wait until they are assured legal entry. That's huge.

Health care in the US is sad. It is too expensive to be considered a "right". We should be like most other first world countries and end the for-profit health care system. It might cost a bit more in taxes, but that's mostly painless compared to the current system.
What people would save in paying high premiums would outweigh the increase in taxes by a lot. People need to realize that fact. Socialized medicine works and is good for the country as it allows for a healthier work force and doesn't burden workers with medical debt.
