draw with me! making "bad" art

drawing can be scary! it's mostly fun, but sometimes i get scared! so i wanted to share some thoughts that hopefully can make you feel better if you also get scared.

I hope you find this Draw With Me video inspiring and motivating. This video is a piece of optimistic advice for when you’re stuck in an art block, or you’re feeling self conscious about the things you create, or for when you’re so afraid of making an ugly or bad drawing that you can’t even draw! These worries happen to every artist, maker, or creative person, so I hope you know you’re not alone.
Join me for this relaxing day at the park. I am facing my fears of making “bad” art, and I am drawing in my sketchbook. I wasn’t particularly happy with the things I made today, but I was happy I made them and I had fun!
I packed a fun tote bag of all my goodies including my Talens opaque watercolor set, my Odwalla water bottle, a compactable water dish, my New Soho mixed media sketchbook, and some crayons. Throughout the video I’ve included some pretty clips of the park and scenery. And at the end of the video, you’ll find a quick sketchbook flip through of the things I made today.
