Post retirement Ippo is going to be one of the most skilled fighters in the series. I like that he's actually boxing now, cutting off the ring, using his jab, actively defending himself and broadening his skillset beyond the Dempsey. I hope Morikawa doesn't make us wait another 500 chapters lol.

6 years of hearing "Ippo will be returning soon", at this point, I am just happy that Mashiba (my favorite character) is fighting on the world stage, and I don't really care for ippo comeback, am sure it will happen, I just don't care for it.

That training in retirement thing is just the difference between martial arts and sportsman. someone doing a sport is driven by the next battle, the next challenge. someone doing an art is introspective on it, often working on things that wouldn't have a direct impact on winning necessarily. It's about perfection. In that setting both sendo and takamura are more warrior types, which sees combat more like their religion.

You forgot to mention that after the Sendo vs. Alfredo fight, Alfredo says that the 2 are keeping Ricardo company and the 2 are Ippo and Sendo. Even he knows that Ippo will come back.

Ippo will comeback for sure man! Probably a death will be the cause of it.. Not Kumi but Mashiba or Kamogawa will be the trigger. Either way Ippo is making his comeback and i dare say probably by the end of Spring 2025!

then there's the takamura's road to domination, that's gonna be a long one, it's either gonna fail or they would just show some sorta of flash forward
don't know if Ippo would return due to its failure or Ippo would return close to its completion or Ippo would return sorta midway to its completion and would just sorta flash forward the ending in the last chapter
Takamura will never lose. He’ll probably fight with one eye after a certain point. And Ricardo is definitely endgame for Ippo as far as professional boxing goes.

A year is hella optimistic, the whole community pretty much agrees we'll have to wait AT LEAST until after Sendo v Ricardo (Joe v Jose homage) fight, I'd also say Ippo still needs to get challenged by Mashiba to achieve world level to accept his relationship with Kumi as well as first official fights of his two disciples need to happen, maybe even Itadaki resurrection if not Kimura's as well.
Hell, wouldn't be surprised if Miyata and Takamura might be closely involved on the way which might also stretch the story.

Most likely After Ricardo demolishes Sendo I assume (WBA title fight). Most likely the turning point in the manga. While Miyata aims for the a title (WBC). Ippo vs Imai should be interesting to see and we get to see Ippo's new skills on full display.

@@KingKoohii Sendo has crazy power but the most I see is Ricardo getting dropped cleanly but getting back up by whatever the reason may be but ultimately we will see Ricardo's high level skills and his Diablo infighter style. The reason I say demolish is because Ricardo demolished a Prime Eiji Date, broke his ribs, hand, jaw and mauled him everywhere face, liver ect and Wally got dismantled, face caved in against the corner, possible broken ribs and permanently damaged eye. Ive remembered Sendo still has cracked ribs, imagine a Ricardo liverblow and corkscrew punch from Ricardo to Sendo's jaw. Look what Nargo and Alfredo did with their counters to Sendo's face now imagine a corkscrew punch from Ricardo would do. Ippo will straight up RUN through Imai like a Tank crushing a car as high speed. Imai will have a hard time connecting and you'll see a difference in speed and skills.
@@Intenxsify we will see another Sendo against Ricardo. It’s not a coincidence that we see him hanging out with Ichirō all the time. They are drilling Ricardo’s style into him as we speak. Sendo is known for his adaptability. Which we saw against Shigeta, and also against Ippo’s Dempsey Roll. Remember when he dashed into Ippo’s chest to neutralize it? That was crazy slick.
I think it will be waaaay more even than everybody expects it to be. Wally showed a human side to Ricardo. He can definitely be hit. I’ll bet on Sendo for this one.
@@KingKoohii However, Sendo got dominated by current Miyata. Sendo could not land his new weapon on Miyata. Sendo did land it on Takamura. Miyata and Ricardo are defensively strong and very cautious boxers (Miyata having faster and better footwork but Ricardo having better defensive technique, experience, hindsight, head movement and high guard or closed high guard). Yes Sendo can adapt but a lot of the times his head is there and centerline and WILL get hit and punished. Sendo was close to losing to Nargo and Alfredo. Now imagine what Ricardo would do. Ricardo is one of the most complete boxers in the series based off a Champion who was undefeated in the amateurs and pros. The most Sendo can do is drop him then Ricardo gets back up and will eventually dismantle and demolish Sendo. I am hoping Ricardo wins because Ippo vs Sendo 3 does not interest me because we all know Ippo will win a 3rd time and will be a repeat of what we've already seen (we've seen their styles clash multiple times). Ricardo has so much more potential to give us a more interesting fights and see more of what he can do. Doesnt make sense for him to have him beat Ippo one sided for Ippo never avenge that humilliating sparring loss and show how much Ippo has TRULY improved. Ricardo can be hit but compared to Alfredo, Ricardo is still at a League of his own. Ricardo took a chance at Wally exchange because Wally doesnt posses Ippo or Sendo level power plus Wally is talented with godtier speed ontop of Wally inviting Ricardo to exchange. Ricardo overall gets hit less than Miyata and Takamura (Takamura gets hit a lot), that's how great his defense is (even in the Ricardo vs Post JBC Ippo) Ricardo's defense was flawless. So at most I think Sendo drops Ricardo but Ricardo will KO Sendo. Ill be going for Ricardo as for the following reasons to summarize, 1. Ricardo's boxing skills are Elite/Complete, 2. Ippo vs Sendo 3 doesnt make sense and too predictable and 3. We will see the build up of Ippo vs Undefeated Ricardo for World Title (something that has been built up for Ippo since his sparring vs Ricardo and it would go to waste if it didnt happen). Ricardo is built as the final boss (Omega) of the Featherweight division so Ricardo will win
@@KingKoohii Even with Sendo's sparring with Ricardo, Sendo still lost by points since the sparring was a total of 4 rounds and Ricardo won 3 of the 4 rounds (if the ambiguos knockdown was legit). Sendo's face was busted up with Ricardo holding back as usual throwing only left jabs. Sendo only had the moral "victory" of achieving a "knockdown" on the P4P King and the Super Champion since Sendo possesses monsterous power. But in reality if we know how to score, Ricardo won by points of a 4 round sparring.

These early fighters were done dirty. That first fight had the guy who slacks off, and had an entire arc, and then later he reappears as a chubby trainer. It's realistic, not everyone will continue or make it big, but damn lol. I liked Kenta a lot, too. Wish he'd stick around.
@@J-G9991 I miss kobashi too but at least his arc ended pretty satisfying. Was never a prodigy, but with work, he managed to become a Japanese champion, even if he couldn't keep the belt.
