NOTE: My apology - at around the 16:06 mark, I had to blur out the footage because it got CopyR-claimed. I did not want to reupload the video again. Sorry for that blur I inserted.
Thank you so much for your interest in this video. Don't forget to subscribe. What are your thoughts about the Chicago Cubs in the '90s?

IHMO, the Cubs and White Sox were fun to watch in the 90s

Thank you so much for the comment. Coming home from school and being able to watch baseball during the day was the best. Moreover, during the summer days, watching the Cubs during the day sure beat watching soap operas. Thanks again. Enjoy the rest of the MLB season.

Myself a Sox fan I did watch the cubs. That 90’s team had some of baseballs best players of the era. They should have won many more games and been in more post season games.

Mandy, thank you so much for the recommendation. So sorry for the 2-month delay. I had a lot of fun doing this video. There is something so unique watching Cubs day games at Wrigley in the early '90s. Thank you so much. This video was completed because of you. Thanks again.

Yooo this video was worth the wait. I'm not even a Cubs fan, and I wasn't really into baseball in the 90's (but "Go Giants!!!"). Yet I still found this retrospective informative, and fascinating. The 20 minutes flew by. You always tell these stories with the right amount of enthusiasm. Feels like a good friend that knows what they are talking about is educating me on sports topics from yesteryear. Thanks again for putting this together, and I'm already excited for whatever you have planned in the future. You're a rockstar. Cheers.

astrostar49, what's going on. After a long day of work, reading your comment made me feel blessed. Thank you so much. I'm very lucky to have your support for my channel. I will always remember your comment.
I was starting to do a San Francisco Giants video in the '90s, but I don't think I will be able to get to it. I change ideas all the time and have a hard time sticking to one video idea at times. I have plans to do a Dodgers in the '90s video next month (because it was already written from last year). But we'll see. You're the best. I really appreciate everything. Thank you so much.

Great video. As a teenager I attended a Cubs game at Wrigley Field in the summer of 1998. My program had a picture of Harry Carey on the front. They played the Pirates.

Thank you so much. Always great to hear from you. Lately, I've been thinking that I should get back to doing more of these teams in the '90s videos. I just need to try to find more time. I hope next month I will be able to finish a Dodgers in the '90s video (I started it last year but now I think I have time to finish it). But thank you so much. Enjoy the upcoming summer.

After 89 I think many of us Cub fans expected many more post season appearances. But that was life as a Cubs fan lol especially 91 cuz we were a favorite to over take the pirates just to not only fall short but not even get close lol. 93 and 95 were fun and of course 98. Cool video. Always fun to relive the past. If they get randy Johnson in 98 who knows what happens.

Big Pasty. What's going on? I understand how Cubs fans expected more postseason appearances after 1989. I don't know what to say. Your comment about 1991, sorry I missed that, I did not know the Cubs were division favorites that year. 1995, was certainly interesting and like you said "of course 98". I enjoyed doing this video because I found myself so relaxed just watching early 90s Cubs day games being played at Wrigley. I wound up watching some of those games and chilling instead of editing and working on the video. I'm not sure if I will do it this summer, but I want to do a video about the best team to not make the playoffs which would be the 2004 Cubs as there was so much craziness with that team. The Cubs in the mid-2000s had so much talent. Thank you so much. I'm glad you like the video. You're the best.

@@90sSportsNostalgia 2004 was beyond frustrating. I remember a baseball encyclopedia I owned as a teenager saying after the free agent moves the cubs made prior to 91 that along with their younger talent still there from 89, they were a favorite I'm the east. Of course as u covered, none of those moves panned out lol

I’ve watched almost every Cubs-game I’ve been able to since I was 7 in 1977, and those 90’s & 2000’s teams were fun to watch and easy to connect with.
The 2016 team was great, but I never felt as connected to the team as the Grace/Sandberg/Dawson team.

Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching video. I think you made an interesting comment - "The 2016 team was great, but I never felt as connected to the team as the Grace/Sandberg/Dawson team". I say that because I wonder how many other Cubs fans feel the same way you do. I would be curious to know how many others feel the same way as you. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the 2024 Cubs season.

I was hoping to learn more about the Larry Himes transition.. Does anyone know why the White Sox let him go?

    • @90sSportsNostalgia
      @90sSportsNostalgia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you so much for the comment and taking the time for watching the video. I apologize for not going deeper into the Larry Himes transition. I did not expect a comment like yours but it was a great comment. So, I put a graphic up (maybe it wasn't up long enough as I'm not good determining how long a text graphic should be up to read), but anyways, that text graphic from the Chicago Tribune basically mentioned that Jerry Reinsdorf said Himes did a great job getting the team from Point A to Point B, but didn't think Himes was the guy to get them to Point C (a championship). Furthermore, there were reports of personality differences but in short, Himes was not a Reinsdorf guy. Thank you so much once again and enjoy the rest of the baseball season.
