As a mechanic I appreciate you putting the correct hardware back on the car. It’s a pain when there are all mismatched screws and bolts. It’s just one of those things that most people won’t pay attention to, but when you know what’s supposed to be there and it’s some random bolt it just makes you question what else wasn’t done right.

Such a classy spec, put the OEM badges back on and it’s perfect. The best thing you can do with an R8 is just put a set of coilovers on it to improve how it drives and looks, and just leave the rest. Hope to own a V8 manual R8 at some point in the my life ❤

I found the stock suspension good, but I changed to Bilstein adjustable coil overs on my RS4 and feck me it's impressive. It took a bit of tweaking to get the height and dampener settings just right.
Who else noticed the oil filter wasn’t located into the car first that can cause some major issues 6:05 can damage and snap the locator on the filter bud but great work restoring this dream car
Really enjoyed this build. Loads of storytelling, practical walk-throughs and lots of care taking her back to standard. Video at the end was ace too. Nice job Chris!
A little tip for everyone……when draining sumps etc. obviously put the drain can in the right place 😅 but to control things do this….. when you are undoing the plug, keep a pressure push on the plug, even though it’s on its way out, keep pushing back on it. When you feel a tiny click, then it’s at the end of its thread. Then you can let go knowing the oil is coming!
I think you should first put the oil filter in the block because you have a tiny pin on bottom of the filter and this pin goes in a hole on the oil block than put the oil cap and torq

Great videos bro, please paint those air intake panels to match the car or black. I don't know what it is but there's something unsettling about those slightly different colored panels. It's like when you're broke and one of your doors stops working so you just go to the junkyard and buy one the wrong color

When an oil filter has a nipple like that on the bottom I personally fit the filter in the engine before screwing down the housing just to be sure the nipple has popped in the hole properly 👍
I don't know if you weld, but if you have a stuck bolt thats rounded, with a surface like this one at 4:05, just make a top like you did, and tack it a few places if it happens to round so bad its impossibly stuck

As a now retired tech. a cooling system should be pressure tested to at least 32psi.,not what is commented on this video.
