(creator of Flash Bash) thank you so much for uploading this and giving mention to all these nostalgic games. This video made me very emotional, even more so now that Flash is over. I didn't think the impact these games had would last this long. Thank you to all the people here who played. It was a pleasure entertaining you all.
In my country we would have recess even throughout high school, and even be put in the same school with middle schoolers. During these recesses, kids from different classes would come to the computer lab and face off in kof wing. Funny enough, it worked just like in the arcades as whoever wins gets to stay on. One day everyone in the lab was complaining at my friend for picking the considered OP character “insane Iori” (the bosses were the actual OP ones but they were banned already). Everyone was getting mad and proposed to ban the character altogether. The reason people thought it was OP was because the character could do his strongest unblockable super infinitely. (until he’s out of meter ofc). I believed it was possible to beat the character, but my friend was being extra cocky that day so I made a deal. If I beat him using my main Chun li (considered not OP but he specifically hated playing against that character), only he would be banned from using Iori. If I lost, I would be banned from using my annoying Chuni li. However, I knew the secret to beating this infinite as the only way to beat the unblockable was to move forward(yes you read the correctly). You would completely avoid the move and be able to counter as it has a long recovery. He couldn’t do any combos, and basically spammed the super until he was out of meter, however it was pretty hard to avoid it still, so the match was close. In the end though I ended up beating him and he was banned from playing Iori. Anyway, this was my little story of how I got into fighting games and why I’m still hooked to this very day so thank you flash wing.

I used to play KOF Wing with my brother for hours and we had so much fun it tricked me into believing actual fighting games played like Wing. I also thought chun li and ryu were KOF characters.

There was sooooooo much licensed jank in the age of flash, and even more unlicensed. It's was a wild west where everyone had that 1 flash game no one knew about, that almost gave them a virus.
Damn I miss those days. He should make a video on multiplayer flash games tbh. There were some great ones like Platform Raving 2. Which I played for 7 years and is to this day one of my most played games of all time lol
Same brother, during the start of the pandemic when me and my brother had nothing to do we booted up Kof wing like we used to do with our whole friend group, running tournaments and finding out who was the best, after we had our nostalgia trip I figured simce all the sporting events are cancelled there should be an esports in some fighting games and than I went through the whole rabbit hole of backloging all the evos, ceos, combo breakers and so on, thats how I got introduced to the current FGC
man, as an ssf2 and smash fan I genuinely forget sometimes that super smash flash 2 was made on the same platform as copyright-infringement-farming weird fever dream surgery or driving games. It's kind of insane how much is truly possible in flash. Something that was originally intended to be an ANIMATION software. In fact, even flash animations can sometimes be really cool! I still remember some of the great sprite-animated flash wonders that pitted famous video game characters against each other. and don't even get me STARTED on Super Mario Bros Z. It was WAY too good for the sheer amount of crossovers and references it had; and it's time.

Kudos for giving a shout out to Flash Bash, I found it like you, way too late and was already convinved fighters couldn't work in flash. There's also a lot of goofs against his old works, Dan Mcneely is the villan of his Pursuit series which Kira Buckland was in as well, and Zombie Inglor is from the game with the same name, him becoming a zombie was supposed to be tragic, I guess there's horror in becoming a grappler.
I had a coworker that was really into PC many years ago, like season 1 of Red Vs Blue ago. He got me into all kinds of flash fighting games at the time, having grown up in the arcade I was stoked to have so many fighting games at my fingertips, it was really good times. Great video!
Thank you for talking about flash bash. I remember when I was a small child on armor games when I first tried the game out. It played a huge role in my childhood, and it's extremely rare to see its existence even acknowledged. The game deserves way more recognition, and it's refreshing to see it in 2021 almost a decade later

My knowledge of Flash Fighting Games is basically just Super Brawl & Smash Flash 2. Even if it's super broken, Super Brawl 2 was so cool with that amazing roster. 10 years old me seeing Dudley Puppy playable made my day at the time.

KOF Wing 1.8. I always played with a keyboard and till this day was never able to pull off a super or beat Igniz. Mans just didn't let you play. Also Fairy Tail Vs One Piece was my childhood. Lucy was so broken and I didn't realize it until like 5 months ago when I returned to the game.

My favourite flash fighters were the Kof wing and Hokuto No Ken as the former introduced me to Kof and it's characters plus there was a Marvel based fighting game which included all Marvel characters which had the MVC2 sprites amd you also had KofvsDnf games which were great beat em ups
Im either very impressed at your restraint in not showing the teen titans flash fighting game, or in mock shock and awe at you not knowing of its existence. Jokes aside, I played so many flash games, no doubt all of us did, that I probably forgot the true stand outs. Bloody Rage caught my eye as a kid. It was a big crossover game but one problem it has is everyone shares the same moves, like not just normals, they all had the same specials too. I dont know that this counts as a fighting game more than a card game but Kombat Fighters was my absolute favorite flash game of all time. Just play it if you can. Also since im a wrestling fan, honorable mention goes to Nickelodeon's wacky wrestling & Icw backyard wrestling.
Aside from smash flash 2, chaos faction 2 was the one of the best flash fighting games ever, I'm kinda sad you only briefly mentioned it, it's absolutely fantastic, I played that shit day 1 lol, right when it got released, as I previously played the first one to death too
Those extremely janky old flash games are so very nostalgic for me. I may never go back to them, but they will always have a special place in my heart.
Both Smash Flash games, Dragon Fist 2, Final Slam, all of the KOF fangames, Newgrounds Rumble, Teen Titans Battle Blitz and last but not least PPG: Battle For Megaville were such a large part of my childhood.
I was really impressed with the Capoeira Fighters games. The sprites and animation were way above whats average for flash games, especially ones that used original art. I think the later ones came out as stand-alone downloadables too.

There was a god themed flash fighting game that I played once as a kid. It was the first fighting game I ever completed the arcade mode of, and the final boss was Xenu. Wish I remembered the name.
That fireball doing less damage from range seems like W cool mechanic
I remember playing a lot of super fighters, it was more of a beat em up but it was full pvp, very fun to play in class lol

My favourite flash fighters were the Kof wing and Hokuto No Ken as the former introduced me to Kof and it's characters plus there was a Marvel based fighting game which included all Marvel characters which had the MVC2 sprites amd you also had KofvsDnf games which were great beat em ups
Im either very impressed at your restraint in not showing the teen titans flash fighting game, or in mock shock and awe at you not knowing of its existence.
Jokes aside, I played so many flash games, no doubt all of us did, that I probably forgot the true stand outs.
The Sony PS3/PSP/PSVita store going kaput this year really put me in a bummer mood, so I appreciate the love of the fans and the preservation efforts being made here.

I played Eletricman 2 so much!
Bloody Rage caught my eye as a kid. It was a big crossover game but one problem it has is everyone shares the same moves, like not just normals, they all had the same specials too.
I dont know that this counts as a fighting game more than a card game but Kombat Fighters was my absolute favorite flash game of all time. Just play it if you can.
Also since im a wrestling fan, honorable mention goes to Nickelodeon's wacky wrestling & Icw backyard wrestling.

Aside from smash flash 2, chaos faction 2 was the one of the best flash fighting games ever, I'm kinda sad you only briefly mentioned it, it's absolutely fantastic, I played that shit day 1 lol, right when it got released, as I previously played the first one to death too
Capoeria fighter 3 was the one of the best broswer fighters I played along with KoF Wing.
I remember playing KoF Wing after i discovered the KoF 13 demo on Xbox Live since i couldn't get the full game
Those extremely janky old flash games are so very nostalgic for me. I may never go back to them, but they will always have a special place in my heart.
As it is so far, id say Tough Love Arena is the best fighting game of 2021, atleast until something big comes out.
Both Smash Flash games, Dragon Fist 2, Final Slam, all of the KOF fangames, Newgrounds Rumble, Teen Titans Battle Blitz and last but not least PPG: Battle For Megaville were such a large part of my childhood.

I was really impressed with the Capoeira Fighters games. The sprites and animation were way above whats average for flash games, especially ones that used original art. I think the later ones came out as stand-alone downloadables too.
