Many reasons. Remember no internet back then. Have you seen a documentary on Netflix? Three girls at the same time dropped the charges...but they didn't know about each other. On the other hand police knew it. Saville tricked the nation hence fridays mornings for cops.
I was a patient in Stoke Mandeville Hospital in the 80s and I can tell you that consultants and executives knew what was going on with that vile man , myself and other patients used to pretend to be asleep when he was coming round the ward with the nurses , the nurses all hated him as much as the patients .
I know, it was an answer to a question about him once being a wrestler. Answer: still am, feared in every girls school in Britain. It was only after the scandal broke (a year after he died) that I realized what he really meant- absolutely shocking.
he could hide behind his bizarre kind of humor. His appearance in interviews was so revealing and awkward. In Parkinson's show he. literally admitted having taken a young unknown girl into the palace, whom he handed over to prince Phillip. all of it just for fun . We all know that "Pedos just wanna've fun lalalalalla"
He was VILE. It's wholly embarrassing that Britain EVER deemed him a "national treasure". Even when I was very, very young, he gave me the absolute creeps, through and through.
Same for me too. He gave me the creeps as a child and as an adult knowing the full extent of his wickedness it completely makes sense. There are some people who give off a bad vibe and he's most certainly one of them.
Same, I only wanted ho jimll fix it for my wish that someone else got! But Saville made my skin crawl!! Like a letchy grandad who smells and wears wierd clothes and he gave me the creeps. Can't believe those in position didn't know. Stupid Edwin Currie said we all believed him! She can speak for herself ✌
Jimmy Saville had a scar on the top of his foot (not sure which one). My Mother was in a line up to shake hands with a royalty person at some event. Saville was behind her as they organised themselves in the line up. He grabbed her bum, gave it a pinch. My Mum stepped back and put the full force of her stiletto heel on his foot. (Told me that she could feel the crunch) He made a stifled noise and disappeared into the toilet for 10 minutes. He limped for the rest of the time he was there that day.
A kid from our school appeared on Jim'll Fix It and was allegedly abused by him. The head teacher said nothing could be done about this issue because 'it would make the school look bad'
@@olivertoole8172 no people were listening before he died, have you seen the pics of him with margaret thatcher and prince charles?,theres ya reason strait out no action was taken, jimmy saville clearly knew who was a pedo at the top end of town and they were terrified of that, same reason epstien was killed in jail LOL
@@ATXviIIIe it would appear he was doing his "comedy bit", and the audience laughed along. So maybe this was his little trick of getting away with it. You can tell at points that Savile was actually quite intelligent, and things were very different back then in terms of scrutiny and rank. Hierarchical rank is still very important but not as important as it was then. Nowadays because of scrutiny we have seen that high rank does have those that do evil deeds. Rumours used to be far easier to keep quiet. So, along with him being a huge TV personality, Savile could joke away about the disgusting truth, get audience laughs (mainly from females) and probably felt untouchable. Which sadly, he clearly was.
My Grandad absolutely HATED Jimmy Saville back in the day. Always thought he was an absolutely ghastly man. The moment Saville appeared on the TV he’d snatch up the remote & change the channel straight away without fail. Still wish he could’ve lived for long enough to see him get exposed…
He raised a LOT of money for charity. People seemed to think this cancelled out the awful things he did. The BBC and a lot of other media owe Johnny Rotten an apology as he was vocal about what was happening and rather than act on it, he was banned. Sick and very sad. x
I was sexually abused from the age of 4 until I was 11 and even at such a young age watching jimmy on the tv made me feel sick. Its like I can smell a pervert from a mile away.
I went through the same and I became obsessed with him and I don’t know why I just wanted to catch him out all the time like I knew it and I still do if I come across one and it annoys me until people know
@@isaacleillhikar4566 hi, there is just something about them that makes you feel uncomfortable. It really is like a bad aura, when you've had experience with them you just know.
That rings a bell with me. Returning from London to Yorkshire after a school trip to Paris in 1962, we were told JS was in the same restaurant car and were taken in 2s and 3s to meet him (we were 12/13 years old at the time). I took his photo with a Brownie 127! I wish I knew where that photo ended up; it would have special poignancy today.
I feel so enormously sorry for all of his victims who where powerless towards this public creep and just because they were children could be easily silenced. How bloody awful
My parents love/loved music from the 60s and 70s as did I, but they could never watch top of the pops. I asked my mum why and she said “your dad and I hate saville, there’s something about him”. And ta few years later, there sure was. The most narcissistic creep in British tv, pure evil.
Then tell me, how the Hell did the rest of Britain fall under his spell? I can’t think of any personality like that ever becoming popular in the US. The closest, maybe, was Bill Cosby, but still, he never came off as being so creepy.
It's funny you should say that as my nan always used to say to my mother "I don't like him, there's something off about him" .... An evil man with friends in high places
@@lightfootpathfinder8218 My mother god rest her soul, absolutely detested this evil animal. She said exactly the same. There is something not right about him. She also had a similar view of Barrymore.
Imagine if Bill Cosby had audiences of 100million on a weekly show, then a music show and on radio when these were the only media.. imagine bill knew JFK, Nixon, Bush etc and raised 100s of millions of dollars in charity.. that’s the answer
I watched the documentary on this last night and I kept saying to my husband, "He's telling on himself but no one is listening." if they stopped laughing with him they would really have heard exactly what he was revealing quite openly. What an incredible narcissistic person. All his "good acts" were to keep attention on himself. Every motive was for self-fulfillment of adoration from his world of fans. A sick, sick human who took advantage of everyone. What a creepy person.
He dressed really cheaply no class What's disturbing is I know someone who reminds me of savile He is hard to pin down highly intelligent but self obsessed can be aggresive when cornered but charming Very dangerous mix
As an American, I had very little to no knowledge of Jimmy Savile when he was alive. I watch things like this, and I do think of how people like him get away with this stuff. Then I'm reminded of Bill Cosby, and all the terrible things he did. It seems they get away with so much because of their celebrity status, their natural charisma, and the like. People like Jimmy ruin lives, both directly and indirectly. I do hope his victims heal from this, and I also hope we stay vigilant for predators such as him.
He molested kids for 50 years. And he assaulted adults. That's 5 decades. 5 generations. He possibly could've assaulted the mother and child when they were both little. He's done more molesting than probably all the other small time pedophiles combined. And he got away with it. He even spells it out for us when he says things repeatedly like my case is next Thursday or the problem with my rolls royce is too posh to pick up girls so I still keep a white van. That's not a joke that's him being honest. There's no way in hell anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of coming in to contact with him has recovered. Even people who are not his victims probably are kicking themselves thinking I should've killed him if I knew.
I’d say Saville was more widespread and popular as a comparison,, but less talented and he didn’t have the wholesomeness.. During his peak he was probably averaging 15-20 million a show 2-3 shows a week, plus adverts and charity work, so probably reaching 2/3 of the U.K… I don’t think there’s anyone as prolific and influential with say the presidency and government and corporations etc
@@roberthoage679 Johnny Carson is nothing like Jim Savile. He is the greatest talk show host of all time and avoided topics like religion and politics and kept the conversation flowing. Jim Savile is a weird pedophilic person who you can't tell whether is trying to fuck you or bother you. Look at his interviews it's all about either his charity or some disgusting comment he made that can be interpreted as either something a pedophile would say or someone with a sick twisted sexual sense of humor. He literally spelled it out for people and people covered their eyes.
In a popular BBC documentary Savile and the presenter confront a young woman in a hospital bed for the mentally ill. Savile shows her drawing of him to the camera; it’s in black crayon and he is a monster. “What have I ever done to you?” asks Savile. “Everything” she replies. Savile gives a faux shocked face to the male presenter who laughs. They move on, Savile commenting how sad it is for mental patients such as she, unable to appreciate all he’s done for her. I reckon there and then that girl knew no one would ever believe her, her threat of exposing him as a predator lying in ashes to an audience of millions of people.
That sequence stuck in my mind...what else could she have done? She exposed the monster on television but no one paid attention to her and they laughed at her... how helpless she must have felt!
He was an actor on and off the screen. Only his victims met the true Jimmy. When people met Jimmy they played their own part in the facade. Jimmy’s character was the wise , funny, witty, worldly, experienced manipulator. And people knew their part/role was to be manipulated to a certain degree. That applied to adults and kids. He controlled the boundaries of conversation. He was the driver who steered conversation and atmosphere to his direction of choice. People knew they were just passengers there for the ride while in his presence. The golden era of TV was partly to blame for people’s abscent mindedness . Blinded by big names, fame , fortune, showbiz. These people were gods, prophets, untouchables, worshipped. We believed in fantasy.
Quite right. In the Netflix documentary, Selina Scott is on a Morning Telly prog and Savile is flirting with her and she says , in the documentary, that she's ACTING up to him to keep the pleasantry going as it was basically 'good telly' for the viewers.
That 2018 documentary by Louis Theroux has this bit in it where he says, "A friendship is sort of a two-way relationship, but with Jimmy it only ever went one way." Basically saying that he was super controlling and never really let anyone in because he was always in control of what was said.
Colleagues covering up for him too, that angers me. All they thought about were their jobs, and safety. But what about the poor children who have to live with that abuse?
@@braxfan683 Louis Theroux, who was fooled by him at the time, did another doco on him years later, apologizing for believing him, and interviewing others about their thoughts since the revelations. Many of the people who worked for him, defended him as a nice man and good employer, despite the allegations.
Ironic that Saville states " I woke up today hoping the world was a nice place and go to bed not having to change my mind" Well Saville old boy young people went to bed thinking you were a nice man and definitely changed they're minds. A true monster.
Grew up watching him and he always screamed creepy and I never got why anyone let alone a nation considered him a national treasure- screamed nonce through and through - disgraceful that as a nation, individual and through the levels of police and politicians that he got away with it and never got exposed and tried for his vile crimes
There are others as well. I have names of many past and present UK politicians, but I can't say them. And they're from all the parties so no particular party is really going to benefit when it all comes out.
I was a fan as a 80's baby... I remember he was visiting a village near my home in Scotland for a Highland Games. My siblings and I were desperate to go and meet him, we begged our parents....our car broke down on the way so we missed him ....thank god!
The elite are into child pedofilia. Look into Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump to name a few. The elites smuggle and abduct children from all over and use them for their pleasures.
“I am feared in girls schools!” did he not just pretty much give it away there, never know why it took people so long to know the absolute beast he is.
Someone from the same village I was from in West Yorkshire was abused by him in the 70’s, and to think I wrote twice to Jim I’ll fix it, first time I wanted to drive the flying Scotsman and second time I wanted to meet Steven Spielberg. He was the type of bloke if you threatened to tell the police, he knew people who could make you disappear. Evil Evil man.
The hell it's disgusting what Jimmy Savile did when he was in the spotlight for being famous and popular. It's beyond disgusting.... its extremely juvenile as well as vile.
My grandad hated him always said there was something wrong with him and wouldn’t watch him on TV. He didn’t know him and never met him but he knew there was something wrong with him. “ I ain’t watching that nonce” he would say when top of the pops came on and out to the pub he went grumbling as he left
Even as a kid, I found Jimmy Savile to be very creepy and off putting. I never understood why many people loved him and viewed him as a national treasure. I’m glad I kept to my hunch when the true nature of his crimes came out
I remembered seeing him on the tv briefly as a sort of revival in the 2000s. That didn’t last long, but I vaguely remember thinking he was odd and didn’t get why people liked him so much.
National scumbag, more like. How he got away with ruining around 450 lives, while making sure everyone saw him as a National Treasure, is beyond me. Am I the only one who can't even look at him without being reminded of all the disgraceful actions he caused?
I think he took advantage of the fact that there are some truths that are so horrific that society at large is sometimes simply not capable of fully believing them, so has to resort to believing lies instead. His entire life was basically one such giant lie, and the truth of his true identity was so monstrous that people couldn’t even begin to confront it until after he was dead and buried.
My son had a Savile encounter when he was an apprentice with the local council. It was snowing and his team had taken refuge in their van when there was a tap at the window. They opened it and a man said "The Job Centre sent me to give you lads a hand". It was Savile. He made a few pleasantries, then looked at my son and said "I used to be a handsome young man like you". We have often considered this a narrow escape. I can't claim hindsight enough to say I thought he was 'creepy' when he was on TV, but I never warmed to him, despite the charity work.
Ill tell you why he got away with it and why the police only started to investigate him after his death. He knew things about people, people high up in the hierarchy that could and would have had the people marching on the streets and demanding heads roll
Just like Epstein. Crafty manipulators with money, who are in dark circles with high profile perpetrators of abuse, hence the coercive silence. Crafty conniving manipulators. I despise both and hope they aren’t resting peacefully.
Nah, people just didn't care. It was a different time. It's bad today (look at Weinstein), so imagine how it was when there were no women in higher positions. It was a boy's club, they didn't care about women and girls being abused by one of their own.
Hi except we have now lost the right to demonstrate after “ covid” as well as the right to work , in Canada they can now empty your bank account if you don’t comply ,

I've just been watching the drama about him The Reckoning, Steve Coogan did an amazing job portraying this vile piece of crap. I can't believe his youngest victim was 2 years old 🤢
Coming from the UK, I can confirm that his innuendo and smutty comedy was always somewhat overlooked...how wrong were we to let this unchecked for decades. Shame. It also gave rise of acceptance for others to engage in the same type of behavior (under the radar)
He's not even hiding it. He literally says what he thinks and everyone is allowing it, so strange to look back on. He always said he didn't do anything wrong and that was probably reinforced to him because no one cared
Savile is a great example of one way in which society has improved over the last few decades. So many people, at best, turned a blind eye to his behaviour - perhaps the worst being the hospital bosses who were happy to take his money despite the warnings from nurses and doctors about his vile antics. People are quick to moan that “things were better back in the day” but it’s unthinkable that anyone could operate like that now. He’d never pass any of the legal checks needed to work with children and whistleblowers would be taken seriously on such a matter. Of course there are still evil child abusers but it’s far harder now for them to gain access to kids and thank goodness for that.
Hardly. His reported acts of depravity from the early 60s, continued until 2009 - not exactly ancient times - and still, somehow, even though many in authority knew, he never came to justice.
@Kens UK Adventures It's just an extension of the satanic panic - people love to blame conspiracies run by elites instead of looking at themselves and the rest of society. Just look at all the comments under this video and any other one on Savile and they're full of people claiming they and their families all knew about Savile back in the day. But, surprise, surprise, none of these people ever did anything. The reality is that Savile was a very popular figure for years and years, and the same people who are claiming to have known about him would likely have been star struck if they had met him at the time.
Saville was so "in your face " with his disturbing comments that people felt so taken aback they did not know how to react. This is why it was so hard to expose him as his fame and popularity was like a sort of psychological armour which may his behaviour seem too incredible to be regarded as anything but jocular !
I think it's meant to be interpreted as that he's such a bad wrester that only school girls would be unable to beat him, but obviously knowing what we know now it's creepy.
There were a lot of jokes he made that hinted so much about him, almost like he actually wanted them to know. But people were too starstruck about him to notice and were completely blind, they would just brush off these "jokes".
The whole "Feared in every Girls School in Britain" palaver was 1,984% extremely vile because he was very Creepy, very inappropriate towards girls, very juvenile towards anyone who spoke out the sinister truth about him, etc.
As children 'Fix It' was essential viewing. However my mother would not watch the programme as she said she found him deeply unsettling. 'There is something about him...I don't like that man'. Never forget that the BBC covered for him for years' as they did with Rolf Hartis. They also covered for Martin Bashir when he set Princess Diana up.
Do you have proof that they covered up for Rolf Harris? Who, by the way, was not convicted of crimes committed on BBC premises or that had any link whatsoever to the BBC.

It all came out after he died because of all the powerful men that also participated in his crimes. He was well protected because he would essentially supply child victims to the elite which meant he could do whatever he pleased. He was a liability. Just like Epstein.
As an American kid who got to live in England from 1979 to 1983, I got to watch Saville on the TV, and mostly his "Jim'll Fix It" show. I wanted to write in to have him make one of my wishes come true -- at the time it was either a trip back to Florida to visit Disney World, or to bring my Grandparents over (since we missed them greatly). Never did get a reply back from the show, but after hearing what he did to young girls I'm glad they never did "Fix"the wish for us. I would never have liked him laying his hands on my twin siser.
I'd like to 'fix it' for him to come back from the dead to face a much deserved police investigation so he can rot in jail instead of getting away with his vile, evil crime spree. If there's a God, Savile will be burning in hell.
@@nealmiles9070 Epstein was a celebrity? I didn’t know that. And yes, a lot people do like Trump. He is a creep. When a student at an art college in the 70s in the midlands we staged a sit in in the hall as a protest against some of the colleges policies , we were negotiating with the principal, , Eddie , a devious nasty creature at the best of times. A female student walked past him as we were speaking and he pinched her backside. in broad daylight with a half dozen students standing next to him. He did it to say to us,"i can get away with anything". There's now an academic award presented in his name . My sister in law went to a catholic school with his daughter, she was terrified of him and when she began to fail academically, she had a nervous breakdown, was there incest there ? My sister in law has her suspicions. He too was a pillar of society who thought he was invulnerable.. These guys were everywhere in the 70s and we allowed them to get away with this sort of behaviour as we did with Saviile, who I always regarded as a utter creep.
I met him at the Highland games in fort William. We went to get his autograph and walked in to his caravan. He kicked off and told us to get out and not just walk in. We came back later and some one on the door let us in to get his autograph. No there was no creepy advances on us. But me and my sister felt very uncomfortable because of how raging he was with us earlier. We walked away thinking he wasn’t a very nice man. We was only 8 and 12. I can’t believe no one ever exposed him truly. He was so well protected. Those poor victims.
Plenty of people knew behind the scenes but simply didn’t care because he was that famous and popular and was such a big money maker. The public adored him and the high ups obviously knew that and wanted to keep the cash cow alive and well.

I have no doubt that the Thatcher, Major and Blair governments knew exactly what Savile was up to, but because he knew so much and could have brought down several high profile people including MPs, actors, celebrities, sports stars and members of the royal family with him, he was never brought to justice. When he died, I have no doubt that several celebrities breathed a massive sigh of relief.
One of the biggest examples of the Mandela effect on me is that I was positive that 'Savile' was spelt 'Saville'! Maybe it got changed to 'vile' after all the allegations surfaced.
We must never forget what he did but do we really need a BBC drama about his life starring Steve Coogan? The BBC covered up his crimes and is now profiting off of them.
Steve Coogan is a really tasteless choice, what's next is Jim Carrey gonna play America's most well known pedophile in a film, why do we need a Jimmy Saville biopic
I am only young, I was only 5 or 6 when Savile’s abuse started to come to light, but what I can’t understand is how people didn’t have alarm bells raised about how strange a man he was at the time, even a couple of years before his death. Wipe my brain of any knowledge of what Savile is and what he has done I would still find him a very strange unnerving man. Some cover ups of epic levels must have been happening surely, and the ‘it’s only Jimmy, that’s what he’s like, he’s harmless’ attitude must have been manufactured somewhere, but how did the whole world buy it? There’s warning signs everywhere you look!
Because people thought he was joking when he said he would marry a little girl etc. He raised millions of pounds for Charity so people thought he was a good man !!!! It`s only now that everyone says they knew he was a paedophile all along !!!!! As a boy I didn`t know anything about older men having sex with children !!!! So I was shocked but I liked him as a Disc Jockey on Radio Luxemburg !!!! It turns out that there were loads of Paedophiles, eg. Gary Glitter, Jonathan King, Rolf Harris, Boy Scout Leaders and loads of the Clergy. But that`s a world I know nothing about and it makes me sick !!!!!!
I think he was very protected and people trusted the establishment . He was obviously protected for a reason too . He did lots of charity work which made him appear such a generous person . There’s been reports that people went to the police but nothing was done . It has shocked me since all this and many other things, just how corrupt UK is and child abuse gets covered up all the time . But yes , looking back it’s very creepy and disturbing .
When he was at the peak of his fame it was a different time, child abuse was not taken anything like as seriously as it is now, and it was an open secret that some stars had groupies who were under the legal age of consent, but again it wasn't taken that seriously. He deliberately targeted the kind of young women who wouldn't be believed. I agree that there was a "harmless" image manufactured , but mainly by Savile himself. A lot of people just saw him as eccentric and a comedy figure rather than creepy. I watched the Louis Theroux documentary at the time and I thought I had sussed out what his big secret was - that really he was gay. Turns out that wasn't the secret, he was a very intelligent man who constructed an manage that fooled a lot of people.
It is hard to convey just how sexist and homophobic the times were back then. Try looking up Benny Hill sketches on TH-cam and then consider that was primetime entertainment in the 1970s. If a woman reported she'd been raped, she was basically the one put on trial then. And not many young boys would ever want to acknoledge that they''d been abused by Savile, lest people think they were gay. Savile also deliberately targeted young girls with troubled backgrounds and they knew if they complained they wouldn't be believed. On the one hand, you have this guy who has raised millions for chairty and is friends with politicians and rock stars and on the other you have some messed-up girl. That's how many people looked at it. He also was extremely litigious. There was no need for a cover-up.
My Grandad absolutely hated Jimmy Savile and for years and always pointed out that 'this man dosen't like children' and 'that there's something off-putting about the guy' he died in march 2012 only a couple months before everything was revealed about who Savile really was..
Seeing all these clips and the ones in Netflix doc in this context is unnerving to say the least. Everyone knew and did nothing. He doesn’t carry this alone. Thanks Johnny Rotten.
I worked at Stoke mandeville hospital in the 1980s I was employed as a driver. The drivers rest room was about 30 seconds walk from the mortuary. He had no business in there. I reported him a few times to my head driver and deputy head. I was told to mind my own business and don't shit stir. Also the cafeteria was renamed JIMMY'S. I found the whole thing creepy. Also a lot of the student nurses did not like him. He was always making inappropriate remarks.
Many and I mean many years ago my father lived in London and had a friend in the B. B. C. and when he came home he would not let us watch him. I can't put in the words what he called him.
The guy gives me the creeps but I think the fact he was so much in your face about who he was and his intentions it's had the reverse affect on those around him.
Andrew Neil is a tough interviewer, it's only because the BBC were protecting saville that he wasn't able to really grill him, he was afraid to upset his BBC bosses
I think he did one of the best ones by far grilling him and you could tell Savile was getting heated. I really didn’t see too much of that in other interviews
I heard an interesting documentary about Mary Whitehouse on Radio 4 a few weeks back. The self appointed guardian if the nation's morals was a big pal of Savile. She gave him special award from her pressure group and said she wished all men in the media were as wholesome as him. She also said "I don't know anything about his lifestyle, it's none of my business". A very interesting thing to say about so wine whose "wholesomeness" she had praised.
@Gilgamesh Of Uruk Very interesting. & I’ll never understand how people like her (or eg. those of one political or religious persuasion pretending to be of the opposite - that tall blond Amer. evangelist) can live a lie their whole lives.

Anyone who got that close to senior politicians and the Royal Family would have been thoroughly vetted by security services. They would have known everything about him and passed it on. That he was feted by these types and continued to offend meant his activities were known about by the likes of Thatcher and condoned..or at least ignored. The reasons why would be very interesting..
they aren´t just allowing it, they are doing the exact same thing, prolly even worse stuff than Saville. Think Salo 120 Days of Sodom, but worse. There is overwhelming proof by now that the world is being run by satanic pedophiles.
What makes me disgusted about Jimmy Saville and his vile behaviour is that he wasn't arrested by Police despite the fact that he got away with carrying on his popularity by being famous but kept his victims silent in order to stop them coming forward and making themselves heard. 😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
He made me sick when l was younger, now just angry that he died before the vile things he did he didn’t get punished for, hope he never rests in peace.
You missed the one where he took a group of school girls (now there's a surprise) to meet the then leader of the opposition, his life-long friend, Margaret Thatcher in a Jim'll Fix It episode from about 1978. He has her putting those stupid f*cking badges over the kids' necks. He then asks a curly-haired girl sat next to him to stand up to receive her badge. As she is stood, his hand quite clearly rests on her lower back before quickly moving down to rest on her bottom where it lingers for two or three seconds, while trying to deflect away by talking at Thatcher. It was very cold and calculating but he knew exactly what he was doing. The girl was no more than 7 years old. All the others ranged from the same age up to about 10.
It really annoyed me when all these celebrities from the 70s and 80s said things like; “Of course we knew about Saville, everyone in the BBC did” WHY DIDN’T YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN!!!!! 😡😡
Because in Britain you can be a celebrity and get away with ANYTHING. e.g. Lying in Parliament, Holding parties during strict lockdowns, Pretending on the side of buses that EU funding will go to NHS then raising all our NI for same purpose. Causing Naza Ratcliffe to be in jail for 6 years by misrepresenting her family visit to Iran. etc. (Keyboard wearing out).
@@Sundae_Times it’s not a story and it’s not cool. My Nan was in stoke mandeville hospital and my mum pointed him out and said ‘who’s that?’. With that stupid hair and tracksuit I knew instantly who he was. Savile was everywhere in those days, like shit in a field.
I got his autograph when i saw him at Leeds train station 1999. He said i was better looking than him. And got very cagey when i asked him what he's been up to, meaning has he been filming lately. The atmosphere changed around him. I knew then he had a dark side. I kept hearing the word nonce over and over.
He represents why you shouldn’t worship celebrities and rich people. Look at what he got away with despite years of allegations, and look at how much he was defended because he was a celebrity or because some people psychotically believe that anyone on television especially game shows can be trusted.
Ian Watkins, the lead singer of the band Lostprophets, is the same. He was worshipped by fans and put on a high pedestal and he was secretly abusing…. Well. I won’t say it here but if you look into what he got sentenced for, you’ll be shocked and sickened. A woman reported him several years before he got arrested and police just laughed in her face. It’s disgusting. 🤮

He was protected by Sir Keir Starmer that's why he wasn't prosecuted. And why did Starmer do it? Only for the love of money because he has no morals.
Many reasons. Remember no internet back then. Have you seen a documentary on Netflix? Three girls at the same time dropped the charges...but they didn't know about each other. On the other hand police knew it. Saville tricked the nation hence fridays mornings for cops.
They did, the BBC a protected him.
Saville had contacts in the police force. Up to the Superintendent. He was untouchable, back then.

Bill Cosby was at least a very talented comedian, whereas Savile had no discernible talent whatsoever.

Now that's what I call progress !
Tell that to the 85 to 125 thousand unaccompanied minors that crossed the southern border and now can't be accounted for.
You are kidding right?
Hardly. His reported acts of depravity from the early 60s, continued until 2009 - not exactly ancient times - and still, somehow, even though many in authority knew, he never came to justice.
Tell that to Rochdale...
Jimmy Savile knew where the bodies were buried, meaning he knew other well known people who shared his proclivities and they knew he knew.
@Kens UK Adventures have you not heard him? "I'm not a grass".
@Kens UK Adventures He didn't know when he was going to 'snuff it 'He was a Mason, sworn to secrecy, the filthy bastard
Jimmy was a lovely man. Sadly he was just greatly misunderstood.
@kensukadventures628 he was selfish and didn't give a monkeys what happened when he died.
I was a teenager in the 1960s. Savile always freaked me out. There was something about him that was not quite right.
Did he now
Saville was so "in your face " with his disturbing comments that people felt so taken aback they did not know how to react. This is why it was so hard to expose him as his fame and popularity was like a sort of psychological armour which may his behaviour seem too incredible to be regarded as anything but
jocular !
"Feared in every girl's school in Britain!" He said that several times people! Take the hint!
A protected man. A vile system.

Maybe it was to protect himself . If it’s true that he was highly protected by the establishment due to what he knew about them , these hints could be earnings to them - drop me in it and I’ll drop you in it . He was allowed keys to mental institutions and hung out with royalty ! Unbelievable
It's absolutely sickening that he died before it all came out
It was designed that way, unfortunately.
It all came out after he died because of all the powerful men that also participated in his crimes. He was well protected because he would essentially supply child victims to the elite which meant he could do whatever he pleased. He was a liability. Just like Epstein.
Just strange , dead men can’t talk
As an American kid who got to live in England from 1979 to 1983, I got to watch Saville on the TV, and mostly his "Jim'll Fix It" show. I wanted to write in to have him make one of my wishes come true -- at the time it was either a trip back to Florida to visit Disney World, or to bring my Grandparents over (since we missed them greatly). Never did get a reply back from the show, but after hearing what he did to young girls I'm glad they never did "Fix"the wish for us. I would never have liked him laying his hands on my twin siser.
Sounds like you had a lucky escape mate…
He’d lay his hands on you too
I'd like to 'fix it' for him to come back from the dead to face a much deserved police investigation so he can rot in jail instead of getting away with his vile, evil crime spree. If there's a God, Savile will be burning in hell.
Being American I had never heard of Saville before until about 2018. I went to Google him and I couldnt believe how grotesque he looked.
Yeah, can you ever imagine anyone like him becoming a star here in the US? I can’t.

The idea of having paitents from Broadmoor Hospital in his audience just sends a shiver up my spine.
The main reason he was able to pull it off for so long was because every one believed he was "just gay".

“ How’s about that then “lol
I met him at the Highland games in fort William. We went to get his autograph and walked in to his caravan. He kicked off and told us to get out and not just walk in. We came back later and some one on the door let us in to get his autograph. No there was no creepy advances on us. But me and my sister felt very uncomfortable because of how raging he was with us earlier. We walked away thinking he wasn’t a very nice man. We was only 8 and 12. I can’t believe no one ever exposed him truly. He was so well protected. Those poor victims.

The problem wasn't that this man was evil but that others knew and enabled him instead of jailing him.

I think we can go back a bit further than that! Harold Wilson would have known as Ted Heath (who had a penchant for young boys!)
Agreed
Yeah weird choice to use a comic actor too :/
Sounds about right
steve coogan always struck me as a nonce, perfect casting
Back in the day that stuff was swept under the carpet and because he was famous he thought he was untouchable he was a vile and sick person
Did he mention that he’s feared in every girls’ school in Britain ?
I can't believe he kept using that line. It as if he was trying to tell people something without actually telling them
I worked at Stoke mandeville hospital in the 1980s I was employed as a driver.
He didnt hide in plain sight...he didnt have to hide, he was protected.
Many and I mean many years ago my father lived in London and had a friend in the B. B. C. and when he came home he would not let us watch him. I can't put in the words what he called him.
The looks on their faces in that big brother house,, they knew what he was and even the younger men were clearly awkward around him.
It boggles my brain how he got away with it. He always came across as utterly creepy to me. Odious man.

@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
