They are probably used to seeing a lot of TH-camrs in old towns, so they are not staring. Also happy that you are eating from Local joints, where you will find authentic Swahili food.
A lot of tourists and visitors to Mombasa mistake Old Town Mombasa with the entire city of Mombasa. Old town is the oldest "city" in Kenya. In modern times, it's very old and neglected but it existed as a beautiful city as far back as the 800s. (not the 1200s, not the 1500s not the 1800s, but the 800s). The not-so-beautiful places you see in Old Town are not what you find in the modern parts of Mombasa. With that being said, we Kenyans love every place in our country. We have everything the good, the bad and the ugly from the ultra modern to the sketchiest, the hottest weather to the most freezing, the wealthiest neighborhoods to ghettos, slums, and beautiful rural countrysides. We are proud of our motherland and treat all visitors with respect thats whywe are the only country in Africa where you'll find people from all over the world. Long live Mombasa and God bless my country Kenya.
Kenya is so diverse continue exploring it, if you want the best mangoes visit our Eastern parts of the country (ukambani areas) they have the best and sweetest mangoes, next visit Kisumu city it's a lakeside city same size with Accra, then visit Nakuru city which is our second city with a national park after Nairobi (it also has a lake)
Come on Kariuki. Accra is not the same size as Kisumu which is the third largest city in Kenya after Nairobi and Mombasa. A little bit of Wikipendia would have easily informed you that instead of intentionally dispersing misinformation. Accra is a much larger city. How it equates to Nairobi can be debated
