Miss Biss, one of the unique talents that Vulcan have is the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. All through the original series Spock almost never hit anyone because he never had to. He just reaches out and pinches them very lightly on the shoulder/side of the neck and they pass out. Class M comes from the Vulcan classification (M for Minch'ara) that Earth took as a reference. It describes livable planets for humanoïds like us or Vulcans. IRL we would classify those as Earth type planets. The big disk on the front of the cylindrical part of the ship is the main deflector, pushes space dust out of the way. to understand Khan you should watch the original series episode - space seed. then watch wrath of khan. im not a huge cumberbatch fan but i do believe he did a great job. in fact all the main actors really capture the essence of the originals.
If you want to know about Khan, you've got to watch one episode of Star Trek the original series ("Space Seed") and then watch Wrath of Khan. Wrath of Khan is a continuation of that episode.
Class D - Planetary or moon with little or no atmosphere - Earths moon would fall under this classification. Class J/T - Gas giant - Jupiter and Saturn. Class K - Adaptable with pressure domes - Mars. Class M - Terrestrial - Earth. Class N - Sulphuric - Venus.
Vulcans are much stronger than humans. They also have great powers of intellect and and telepathy. They can do "mind melds" as well as reach out to other telepathic beings from a distance. In their distant past, they used their telepathic powers to "unalive" people. They have since learned to control their strong emotions as well as their mental powers.
Every young male with older brothers who grew up in the 60's knows the pain of the Vulcan nerve pinch, having been the practice dummy for those older brothers to hone their TV-acquired skills.
I was probably about 5 or 6 when I first stumbled across a Saturday repeat of the original Star Trek. it took me a while to learn how to do the Vulcan salute correctly, but then it became second nature.
You must see Wrath of Khan, but if you want Khan lore, you NEED to see the old 60s show episode called "space seed" first. Even if you see no other episodes.

Uhura's attraction to Spock makes sense because she's passionate about linguistics and Spock's inability to express emotions makes him mysterious in terms of emotional communication. It's like she's compelled to translate his heart.
To get the origins of Khan, you need to watch the Original Star Trek series episode "Space Seed" from 1967. The movie "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" is a sequel to that episode.
and it poses a theme dear to Roddenberry of artificially created life and what happens when they reach human conscious thought and willpower, themes totally missing in the "action" movies of the 2009 movies

I’m an old man 62. I have been watching Trek from the beginning. I look at these movies as an alternate reality. If a movie entertained me it is good. To me the new ones are good.
Kinda new here - definitely check out the originals, you'll see the relationship with the Klingons is, well, complicated. Their look has also changed several times since the 60's for various reasons, and as one famous Klingon once said 'it is a long story'. As for Khan, watch the episode Space Seed from the original series before the Wrath of Khan for more context. be wary though - once you're hooked, you're hooked for ever. And there's a lot of Trek out there - animated series, spin-offs, movies. Enjoy.
I love that they get the Prime Directive and Kirk's demotion right. He isn't knocked down from Captain for breaking the Directive, it's for lying about it and refusing to take responsibility.

The uniform colors do have meaning. Gold is command, blue is science and medical, and red is engineering, operations, and security. There is a bit of a joke about "Red Shirts" in Star Trek, that they are the disposable extras who die instead of the main characters. If Kirk and Spock go down to a planet with two characters in red shirts who we have not seen before, guess which characters aren't going to survive the mission.
Hello Miss Biss!😊 Class M would be similar to Earth (nitrogen/oxygen). Other classes would be where the air is composed of different elements and probably not breathable. The other classes are rarely discussed in Star Trek. Maybe you were thinking of Dr. Who because the man that died with the ring in the beginning did have a recurring roll as Mickey Smith in the "Doctor Who" series. He was friends with the doctor's companion, Rose Tyler. His name is Noel Clarke. The uniform colors and their meaning has changed over the years , since the original series. Some of the more popular designations are Command Crew, Science, Engineering, and Medical. Khan was the result of genetic engineering to make super humans 300 years ago. The experiments were considered a failure and genetic engineering was banned in the Federation. I am still more a fan of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" than this version of Khan. Great reactions to this well made Star Trek film, Miss Biss!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
I'm 58 and I've seen everything Star Trek. This is my favourite movie of all. Watching first time, when the villain introduced himself as Khan, I just thought OH... MY... GOD. How did I forget the timeline and where we are?! And Benedict Cumberbatch was an actor I barely tolerated but fell in love with after this movie.
Great Reaction, If you"re going to watch "The Wrath of Khan" then you should watch the original Star Trek series season 1 episode 22 "Space Seed" from 1967. this way you can familiarize yourself with what Khan was like gaining the crews trust at first and also the original cast and get some feelings towards them and then when you watch the movie "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" from 1982 you will feel the emotions from what happens.
@@Drew_73 Sure. Just one of the juicy ones: You can EASILY align the rods of a quantum reactor by just kicking them, who cares about a few CENTIMETERS plus minus. It will be FINE!!!
Class M stands for Minshara class. It is a Vulcan word for a planet that is capable of supporting life. The atmosphere is life sustaining for carbon based life forms (like humans and Vulcans) and plant life and animal life can flourish there. There are other classes of planets- class L is a frozen planet, class Y is a gaseous planet, etc. Class M is the class that a landing party can visit without specialized EV suits or oxygen tanks.
If you want to watch "The Wrath of Khan" I'd recommend you watch the episode "Space Seed" from the original series first, it might answer a lot of questions.
This has been repeatedly said by other commenters, so I'll just add my voice to the chorus: it's ESSENTIAL that before you watch "The Wrath of Khan" movie, you first watch the episode of the original Star Trek series called "Space Seed." Also just to make "Space Seed" more understandable it wouldn't hurt to watch at least two or three other original Star Trek episodes first, just to put things in context. I'm sure your Patreon members can recommend specific episodes. If you take the time to do this you'll find that all the pieces will fall into place neatly and your enjoyment of all of the original Star Trek movies will be much greater.
When you asked what’s the differences when it comes to the colors of their uniforms, it’s like this… Blue is for medical and science. Gold is for command positions and if I’m not mistaken for the pilots. Red is for engineering, security and communications. Of course someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
I hope watching "The Wrath of Khan" doesn't confuse you to much. It is excellent but it is an alternate timeline to these Star Trek Movies so it might confuse you a bit. Watching the "Space Seed" episode first from the original Star Trek series from the 1960s-70s (which is Khan's first appearance) would explain a lot, even if you didn't react to it. Finding it from a streaming service might take a little research.
You need to watch the beginning of Khan's story. The original TV series with "Space Seed" Then second Star Trek movie "The Wrath of Khan" Then you will understand this movie about Khan. Also what made this version Very Special.
Love you Biss! F the haters! This rebooted universe has turned so many people into trekkies because it makes you want to go back to the OGs, Films/TV. You will definitely enjoy most of what you watch Biss. The director used the same formula when he directed The Force Awakens.
As others have said to get all of the Khan lore when you are ready watch "space seed" before the movie. Spock used the 'Vulcan neck pinch' on Khan which easily renders an ordinary human unconscious.
'Put on a Red Shirt' is an inside-joke among Trekkies. People think that Red Shirts are just cannon fodder who end up dying during whatever away mission they are sent on (the math does not support this, I think blue shirts actually have the highest death toll in the original series... but it's still a joke everyone makes). So Kirk telling Chekov to pull on a Red Shirt is a wink to fans as code for 'get ready to die'.
Congratulations again on your last birthday 🎁🎈🎁🎈. Miss Bisscute, today in North America (including México) we are watching the total solar eclipse, I loved seeing your reaction to Star Trek in to the darkness just in this particular day.👍👍👍
To be honest, I can understand her decision to start with the newer ones. Star Trek at this point is such a huge collection of series and movies, some good, some bad, some iconic, thousands of hours to explore. It's almost impossible for someone new to the genre to get into it. So yeah, I think her reasoning is understandable.
Thank you, was thinking and told that the newer movies is a better introduction to the universe and if I enjoy them then I can go back for the first ones
Just in case you didn't know: Benedict Cumberbatch also spoke the dragon Smaug in the Hobbit trilogy. And not only is his voice great. He is HELL of an actor (but i guess you already noticed that). As for The Wrath of Khan (played by the great Ricardo Montalban) is the 2nd Startrek movie, so it's not such a long way til ya there when you start at the 1st one. Klingons are not really the BAD guys, just a race of awesome fighters who value honour the most. In this time here they were enemies of the federation, but later they even joined the federation. Greets from the "Kohlenpott", enjoy!

Some people just like to complain, these movies arguably aren’t even reboots since the original cast is mentioned and referenced within them. It’s just a different timeline, which Star Trek has has had different timelines in other series before
Got it
To boldly split infinitives that no one dared split before. lol
to understand Khan you should watch the original series episode - space seed. then watch wrath of khan. im not a huge cumberbatch fan but i do believe he did a great job. in fact all the main actors really capture the essence of the originals.
I am just glad that you are checking out the Star Trek universe that is awesome.
If you want to know about Khan, you've got to watch one episode of Star Trek the original series ("Space Seed") and then watch Wrath of Khan. Wrath of Khan is a continuation of that episode.
Hi biss😁 I'm glad your enjoying star trek😁 great review👍 live long and prosper🖖😁 btw...nice thumbnail😁
What I love about these Abraham’s- Treks is, they give every character their few moments to shine, in every movie. (Their “fifteen minutes”.)
It’s so cute seeing Biss all excited like this! 😂🥰
I was probably about 5 or 6 when I first stumbled across a Saturday repeat of the original Star Trek. it took me a while to learn how to do the Vulcan salute correctly, but then it became second nature.
happy late birthday bisscute 🎂🎁😘☺️ you don’t look a day over 21 😍🥰😘☺️
Alice Eve is a physical specimen!!!
You must see the Original Series episode "The Space Seed" that is the very first time Khan was introduced.
You must see Wrath of Khan, but if you want Khan lore, you NEED to see the old 60s show episode called "space seed" first. Even if you see no other episodes.
That thing Spock does when he grabs your shoulder is a strangle; by blocking blood from going to the brain he knocks you down.
That would only be true if he did both sides. His technique is referred to as a nerve pinch in the Star Trek universe.
As I recall there's a wrestling "sleeper hold" to do that.
Shirts do indicate something
Gold- Command Staff
Blue- Science/Medical
Red- Engineering/Security
Before you watch Wrath of Khan, watch the episode Space Seed from the original TV series.
Uhura's attraction to Spock makes sense because she's passionate about linguistics and Spock's inability to express emotions makes him mysterious in terms of emotional communication. It's like she's compelled to translate his heart.
Original, nurse Chapel had a hard crush on him. Uhura we never saw having a relationship with anyone.
I appreciated your introduction and how open minded you are being at approaching this.
I’m very excited to see you continue your journey with Star Trek! 🖖
I’m an old man 62. I have been watching Trek from the beginning. I look at these movies as an alternate reality. If a movie entertained me it is good. To me the new ones are good.
Hi Biss!
Loved the reaction!
You might want to watch the original series episode Space Seed before watching Wrath of Khan movie.
Hoping you enjoy!
You would love the original series and movies, with these versions being heavily inspired by them.
You’ll always get haters. It’s part of the gig. Just be you. Watch if you like to watch. Most of the haters are troller. It comes with every TH-cam channel. But, your true fans will follow. And more will come. Don’t turn it into their channel. This is your channel. Brush off the hate. There’s more love than the hate. Much love
I always enjoy welcoming someone new to the Star Trek universe :D
The uniforms do have meaning, in this era, gold means command, red is for engineering and security, and blue is for medical and science.
Blue shirts - Science. Red - Security. Gold - Command.
Red Shirts- targets
🤣
This was amazing to see you appreciate and get into it. Was so exciting to me.
Jeo she's perfecto a very curious mind naìed it
Great Reaction, If you"re going to watch "The Wrath of Khan" then you should watch the original Star Trek series season 1 episode 22 "Space Seed" from 1967. this way you can familiarize yourself with what Khan was like gaining the crews trust at first and also the original cast and get some feelings towards them and then when you watch the movie "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" from 1982 you will feel the emotions from what happens.
Glad you're enjoying these! Don't listen to the haters!
How to IGNORE the simplest physics. What a Bullshit movie!
@@JoergWeida what's the problem? Please explain it to us. Everyone is so excited to hear your opinions!
@@Drew_73 Sure. Just one of the juicy ones: You can EASILY align the rods of a quantum reactor by just kicking them, who cares about a few CENTIMETERS plus minus. It will be FINE!!!
Captian Pike has become one of my favorite Captians in Star Trek. Epically since Bruce Greenwood played him and now Anston Mount in Strange New Worlds
Will rather than might.
Fun trivia: Part of the Enterprise warp core is actually the National Ignition facility in the US where they experiment with nuclear fusion.
Live Long And Prosper, all 🖖
Peace and Long Life. 🖖
The look on your face when he crushed his skull was priceless! 😂😂😂😂😂
Blue is for science and medical
Gold is for command
Red is for engineering and operations
This has been repeatedly said by other commenters, so I'll just add my voice to the chorus: it's ESSENTIAL that before you watch "The Wrath of Khan" movie, you first watch the episode of the original Star Trek series called "Space Seed."
Also just to make "Space Seed" more understandable it wouldn't hurt to watch at least two or three other original Star Trek episodes first, just to put things in context. I'm sure your Patreon members can recommend specific episodes. If you take the time to do this you'll find that all the pieces will fall into place neatly and your enjoyment of all of the original Star Trek movies will be much greater.
"the admiral's daughter".... a direct steal from Top Gun!
Your reactions are so wonderful! 😊😊❤❤
When you asked what’s the differences when it comes to the colors of their uniforms, it’s like this…
Blue is for medical and science.
Gold is for command positions and if I’m not mistaken for the pilots.
Red is for engineering, security and communications.
Of course someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
Remember in the Movie "the wrath of Khan" it is in the alternate reality where "old Spock" is from.
You have nothing to apologize for. You'll find your way through the Star Trek arena.
I loved your first reaction. Thank you for that. I hope you enjoy this one. ❤
This one caught me by surprise as I went
In with ZERO expectations and very little concern for " lore "; it blew me away!!! 😳🔥
I am writing this to help out bisscute and this video and this channel with the algorithm🥰
We love you for your reactions Biss!❤🎉😊
You need to watch the beginning of Khan's story. The original TV series with "Space Seed" Then second Star Trek movie "The Wrath of Khan"
Then you will understand this movie about Khan. Also what made this version Very Special.
It's perfectly fine to watch these movies out of order because they are separate from the timeline.
33:28 You should start with "Star Trek The Motion Picture"
It is an amazing film.
yay I was waiting for this thank you bisscute my day is now complete 😘☺️
Saying Doctor Who! with that much confidence so cute 😂
But, the red shirt theme only applies to the original series.
@@commonstragedy And it was if suddenly a crew member we'd never seen on the show before was going on an away mission.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Star Trek movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
John Cho aka Sulu is from "American Pie", "Searching" (Mystery Thriller Missing Kid Movie), "Harold and Kumar" (Comedy Trilogy) and "The Exorcist: Season 2"

"more questions than answers"
That's J.J. Abrams movies and shows in nutshell.
"He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round Perdition's flames before I give him up!"
- Khan
The actor whose character blows up the Starfleet building played Micky in Doctor Who.
So many people bickering and arguing about these reboot films, the TV episodes, the "correct order" in which to watch them....
I will now quote William Shatner from his classic Saturday Night Live skit, "Trekkies" (1986):
" GET A LIFE, will you, people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show!
You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME! "
I loved watching this movie in cinemas. Til this day it’s one of my favorites.
Space seed from the original series is the origin of khan.
