I am in my seventies, and wear my white hair in a bun. Six weeks ago, I began using the raw egg/castor oil treatment for thinning hair, and lo and behold, the new hair is growing in brown! my original color. Lots more body now, and much thicker.
I have brown hair but just found my first white hair a few weeks ago. I am very excited by it and dream of one day wearing it all up in a bun. :) I think white hair is so beautiful.
@@phyllisj73 Morning Phyllis. Many youtubes on web about this treatment. The original recipe I tried is two beaten eggs and three Tbs of Jamacian castor oil (available through Amazon.) Good morning fairyland! Lovely video. I love it when you take us out into the gorgeous area you live in! I feel as if I'm there. Self care for me is many things but one is my mindset. I try to remember to be thankful for all I have in my life and to be kind.
I’m on my second year of bullet journaling and it’s been a great mental health tool. I’ve also done the miracle morning and have since adapted it to my needs. I do find mornings to be the most important time as it sets up your day so this is where my self care practice begins, from the moment I wake.
Morning walk listening to chirping birds, watching the flowers and leaves, soaking in the sun, and walking barefoot on grass and soil.. The best kind of self care is always free of cost.
A cup of tea and knitting are a part of my daily self-care as well as being sure to get enough exercise and movement in my week. Another daily practice is stopping before sleep, briefly reflecting on my day, seeing where I might have done something differently, and naming at least five things I am grateful for from the day. I find that really helps me to keep my perspective and to always be aware of the abundance in my life; whether it be the abundance of good health, the abundance of place and space, or the abundance of a kind word or deed given freely by a colleague or one of my students. Thanks again for another peek into the beauty of your corner of the world, it is making me even more eager for my trip to Ireland this summer-and for this opportunity, I am deeply grateful.
I like to find somewhere where I could be alone. It's weird bc I feel most alone when I'm in a crowded place like a mall, I find a seat on the very edge, i plug my ear plugs in, and I spent hours just sitting there, listening to pocast or doing my writing. Silence in general is my number 1 healing pill. Also. Your videos. Thank you for helping me calm down on anxious night.
I’ve made your videos a part of my daily self care. The combination of your voice and the relaxing/steady content, calms me down and puts my mind in a better place to get work done. I love writing down my thoughts. Anything that pops into my head!! It’s so soothing to my brain. I don’t like cell phones for this. It takes away from the simplicity of life...
Currently, your videos are a big source of my self-care. Meditating and reading spiritual books and always creating (weaving and crochet at the moment). Also, always with my little companion (my wee dog) by my side - whose birthday is on Valentine's Day. Thank you for taking the time to create these beautiful videos, they are wonderful (all of them).
Eating clean, exercising, pampering my skin, drinking too much water, meditation, reading, listening to music, singing some lyrics and take care of my skin and hair are my selfcare routine for me.
Sleep hygiene is something thats new for me. Winding down earlier in the night. I bought a battery operated ceiling light for my bedroom painting, and 45 minutes before going to bed I turn off other lights and just have that light on which I can dim with a remote control or even set a timer so it goes off automatically. I might do some yin yoga to wind my body down, or put on a asmr or sleep video that stars relaxing me. I try to start this ritual and have lights out at the same time each night to train my body to feel restful at this time each day and it works. I also pray and express gratitude to God for all things He does for me and that were good about my day, and then I ask Him what He wants to communicate to me. Its usually "I love you." or "your going to be okay."
What a timely video! I'm very much focused on self-care this week, as I have a severe respiratory infection, so lots of tea, resting, some slow knitting, slow embroidery are helping me to slow down and get well. Sadly, no walks in nature at the moment, but I've been enjoying watching the playful fog in our woods - a different view every 30 seconds! I'll have to go back and watch your self-care video from last year, but I would also add "Asking for help" to the list. Taking people up on the offer of help serves to make you grateful for the people around you!
Self care for me is doing/being something that feels me up with positivity, light-heartedness and serenity. It comes in the form of taking care of my overall health, my skin, my books, my pets, my ferals...So many things that take care of my being in so many ways. Very grateful. Your videos are a breath of fresh air. 💛💛💛
I just like to sit in the garden and watch the bees, with a nice brew of tea and often some home baking, or getting out of the city and going on a 'Sunday drive' I am a habitual loner, people exhaust me and I need quite a bit of alone time
Part of my self care is to recognize when I'm over doing something. I can sometimes get obsessed about some new skill and I don't take time to rest, cook, clean, exercise. Then I feel drained and I have a mess to clean up. So it's a balance between wanting to get a lot done and knowing that I need to rest and do other things as well for my well being and happiness. I do something similar to your bullet journal but I use Google keep notes. I have one note where I write down all I can think of that I want to do. Sometimes I erase things I changed my mind about wanting to do, and maybe reorder things. And I have a note pinned at the top that lists the upcoming days and what I want to get done on each day or any events that are planned. Sometimes I move things from the first note to the second and vice versa, and sometimes I move things inside the pinned note to another day. It's simple and accessible and helps me get things done but also not overdo it and know that I won't forget anything.
You remind me I need to bring back my tea time. So many times now, I get hurried and rushed. Before, when I would take time out for tea, the rest of my day wet smoothly. It was the stopping and being one with nature that gave me the peace I needed. Not more than 30 minutes, two biscuits and a cup, and all was well with the world.
You are so right! "To say "No", to trust your instinct and do, what is better for you, and not to listen to people, who try to force you to neglect yourself" is indeed incredibly important,- especially for kind&loving women, who often tend to put their own needs aside in order to serve others,- parents, children, husband, friends and so on. Many women are brought up with the idea, that their own needs&wishes means nothing,- and this is so wrong!
Omigosh! I forgot it was sunday! I was so happy to see your video pop up! For self care, I like to take time in the am to sit with coffee in silence or with light music and just, be. I've also been focusing more on me and my internal needs as opposed to saying yes to everyone and everything. It's so helpful.
Turning off the lights, lightning candles, making a ginger tea and listening to BK Shivani..... or if it's a Sunday watching your beautiful, peaceful and joyful vlogs. Then going back to them during the week to help me relax again. Your gentle voice always puts my mind at ease. Happy Valentines Day for Friday Niamh to you both XX
My 7 self care tips: 1. Walk in nature 2. Spend quality time with my partner 3. Spend time with my pets 4. Listen to my body needs (taking supplements to feel better, such as spirulina at the moment) 5. Be gentle to myself &others 6. Reading good books 7. Cultivating good and positive thoughts, silence (meditation, spiritual practices). Thanks for the beautiful video as usual dear Niamh, have a nice Sunday evening! ❤❤
Your videos are always beautiful and a wonderful break from stressfull times. Thank you for taking the time to share such wonderful artwork with good message.❤️😊
Such a lovely little waterfall/brook! Must be heaven to sit there. I still have a few months of snow and cold left but the birds do sing beautifully in the morning so sometimes I'll sit outside in the snow with my tea and listen and watch them 🤗
Once a week, I do an apple cider vinegar hair rinse infused with various essential oils. It keeps my hair healthy and it also smells quite nice! I also read a book and do a devotion every morning to practice mindfulness, which is also a huge part of self care.
Taking a day off just for myself. Being in my house, doing whatever i have decided for that day, ouah what a treat ! I feel then recharged to go back to people. Or taking a nap during the week-end. Thank you 😊
I have found that I love the Irish and can't wait to visit one day. Your positive outlook and way you live is so wonderful and peaceful. Thanks for sharing with us.

I do Self Care Sunday! I make a breakfast which brings me joy & eat it in bed and after dinner I have a bath, light some candles and put some music on.
What a beautiful video. Stunning nature ❤️ We are also fortunate enough to live close to nature, and that is self care for me. One time, I was sat down so completely lost in thought, I saw a red fox trot by on his way somewhere. He didn’t even see me! I love watching nature in this way😊❤️❤️❤️
Time alone is wonderful for me. Do not like crowded events anytime of the year. Prefer shoppping in open air markets and smaller speciality shops. Also our wonderful bakeries here in Switzerland. Only use mild shampoo on my thick straight hair. Never need anything else. Delightful video. Thanks, Bless you.

What soothing video! Thank you! Taking care of myself is listening g more to my inner being and being present for myself. I tend to think what’s next?now what? Instead of enjoying what I have right here and now. It’s a process I’m not there yet but certainly on my way. Have a great week.
Always love your content ! In fact I can’t get enough. I usually watch your videos to unwind and relax. That being said it would me really nice if you made some long videos so that I’m not having to keep stopping and find different ones! 💜

Lynn BW thank you for your support. Have a lovely time on Valentine’s with your dog’s birthday. They are so loving aren’t they!
Eating clean, exercising, pampering my skin, drinking too much water, meditation, reading, listening to music, singing some lyrics and take care of my skin and hair are my selfcare routine for me.
Most relaxing and calming videos out there
Daphne Kos ah thanks my dear Daphne. X
These r such wonderful Sunday sits. I grab a cuppa and my journal and relax into my day instead of racing past it.
amy allen isn’t that wonderful x
Very relaxing video. So peaceful voice of yours and great nature scenes. Thank you.
Another comforting and sage video. What a lovely environment you have to enjoy around your home. Thanks for sharing.
world after watching your vids will be a sane world.!
Akhilesh Choure awh that’s so kind my friend 🧡
Self care is eating healthy, taking time to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. Just to name a couple.💜
Cathy Lynn Pietranton simple and abundant! X
Elizabeth Pack asking for help is such a good one. I’m adding that to my list :-)
I'm going to have to visit Ireland soon. Seems so beautiful!
I LOVE pickuplimes, your channel, and bullet journalling! I’m so glad to hear those three things I love are all connected haha
I just like to sit in the garden and watch the bees, with a nice brew of tea and often some home baking, or getting out of the city and going on a 'Sunday drive'
I am a habitual loner, people exhaust me and I need quite a bit of alone time
Same for me
I wonderstand. Maybe try 2 spend time with peaple meditating. 4 me is total different.
It feels nourishing ❤️
The Poisoned Moon Apothecary good on you for spending time alone. Most people are afraid to. I love the sound of a Sunday drive!
Thank you for this utterly beautiful video-meditation. Happy Valentine's day to you Fairyland Cottage fairy!
Rosy Mylene thanks! Happy Valentine’s day to you too fairy friend c
@@FairylandCottage Thank you and all the best!
I enjoy going for a walk and having a cup of tea and reading.xx
Jazz and natural sounds are all you need to find peace ❤
You remind me I need to bring back my tea time. So many times now, I get hurried and rushed. Before, when I would take time out for tea, the rest of my day wet smoothly. It was the stopping and being one with nature that gave me the peace I needed. Not more than 30 minutes, two biscuits and a cup, and all was well with the world.
Love these slow videos with the natural sounds and style of voiceover, so therapeutic, keep making more:)) x
Hannah Williams thanks Hannah. I’ll do my best :-)
You're so blessed ......I'm blessed having your lovely words and pictures on a sunday ......fabulous x
Mandy Fortune hehe a win for all ! 😊❤️
Omigosh! I forgot it was sunday! I was so happy to see your video pop up!
For self care, I like to take time in the am to sit with coffee in silence or with light music and just, be.
I've also been focusing more on me and my internal needs as opposed to saying yes to everyone and everything. It's so helpful.
Human just being....not human doing. My favorite.
A beautiful and inspiring video as always! :)
Pia Fleig thanks for your support as always! 💕
Thank you very much for the effort to make us feel good!
qin_cn awh glad you felt good! May you have a feel good week ❤️
What a beautiful place!! Thank you for sharing it with us. Love it!!
My 7 self care tips:
1. Walk in nature
2. Spend quality time with my partner
3. Spend time with my pets
4. Listen to my body needs (taking supplements to feel better, such as spirulina at the moment)
5. Be gentle to myself &others
6. Reading good books
Ida Get’s Healthy awh thanks for watching 💕😁
Such a lovely little waterfall/brook! Must be heaven to sit there. I still have a few months of snow and cold left but the birds do sing beautifully in the morning so sometimes I'll sit outside in the snow with my tea and listen and watch them 🤗
Francine H. So lovely to listen to the birds. Especially in the snow!
Thank you 😊
And on a daily basis almost , writing my journal, sort of speaking to myself 🙂
I love to read, talk a walk in the kids or just sit with my animals!😊
Watching your videos and listening to your voice is very self careing and soothing X
I have found that I love the Irish and can't wait to visit one day. Your positive outlook and way you live is so wonderful and peaceful. Thanks for sharing with us.
tracy bledsoe ah thanks! I hope you visit some day! It’s magical here. :-)
Self care for me is stepping away from the news and negative comments on social media and spending time with the people I love.
Bronzed Birdy I love that! Perfect x
Yeah!, it’s Fairyland time😀
Ramona Benson yipppeee! 🤗
Sunday= Fairyland Cottage 👒❤️🍀
Agreed. I live in Canada and it’s one of the first videos I look fed to in Sun morning! Send the videos to my friend in Arizona and she too claps with glee.
Your videos are always so relaxing...thank you!
My self care usually includes a face mask, a cup of tea and reading.
Silence, going for a walk in nature and of course Fairyland Cottage. ❤️
Janet H. Hehehe thanks for including the videos 😊❤️
I look forward to your videos every Sunday morning here in the US! 🌸

dez ah lovely to do watercolour.
How sad, that we now need to be reminded to breathe.
Terry Pettas so true 🧡
Terry Pettas SO TRUE!! ❤️
I do Self Care Sunday! I make a breakfast which brings me joy & eat it in bed and after dinner I have a bath, light some candles and put some music on.
I love your videos. So informative, soothing and relaxing. I love to just listen to you after long tiring day. Thank you.
Always feel so at peace watching your videos - thank you heaps! And happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
Thank you again for that peaceful video

I am very happy to find you and your chanel, you give as such love and good careful tips ...have a nice selfscare sunday.
Your videos are a pure delight. So calming and inspiring! ❤
Your videos are like a little vacation❤.
What a beautiful video. Stunning nature ❤️
We are also fortunate enough to live close to nature, and that is self care for me.
One time, I was sat down so completely lost in thought, I saw a red fox trot by on his way somewhere. He didn’t even see me! I love watching nature in this way😊❤️❤️❤️
Julie Robertson so special for the fox to come so close! You must have blended in to the surroundings
Time alone is wonderful for me.
Do not like crowded events anytime of the year. Prefer
shoppping in open air markets
and smaller speciality shops.
Also our wonderful bakeries
here in Switzerland. Only use
mild shampoo on my thick straight
hair. Never need anything else.
Delightful video. Thanks, Bless
you.
Your channel is so wonderful! Watching your videos is almost like a meditation, it leaves me calmer and more relaxed. :)
I’m new to your channel as well as “self-care”, thank you 👩🏻🍳
Watching your video has a healing effect. thank you.
Great reminder, espacially the nature walk! Thank you 💕
I love using rainwater to care for my plants instead of regular tap water. It seems to boost them back from near death's door many times.
I like to journal, yoga stretches, read by the fire, eat well, diffuse essential oils and candlelight.💜💜💜
I literally just found your TH-cam channel last night from recommendation and I’m in love with your content. Your videos is so calming to watch and I also learned how to make my own things like the shea body butter and the hair mask in this video! Which I’m 100% going to try!
I want to start living more sustainably and you inspire me in so many levels 😊😊👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you and love from England, your neighbour 😄 xxx
Ruth Anderson hi Ruth! Always lovely to hear when new people find the channel especially neighbours! Keep in touch and thanks for joining a great bunch of people here. X
I love your videos... it’s so relaxing to watch💜 thank you🙏🏼
What soothing video! Thank you! Taking care of myself is listening g more to my inner being and being present for myself. I tend to think what’s next?now what? Instead of enjoying what I have right here and now. It’s a process I’m not there yet but certainly on my way. Have a great week.
Almouna Saddiyeh so wise. Listening to our inner self and quieting the mind and atmosphere so we can hear.
And of course, listening to your so pleasant videos 😊
Always love your content ! In fact I can’t get enough. I usually watch your videos to unwind and relax. That being said it would me really nice if you made some long videos so that I’m not having to keep stopping and find different ones! 💜
Alanna Southerland thanks so much. I’ll definitely try to do that. Takes a lot of footage to make these minutes. Were you thinking of 10 mins or more?
Fairyland Cottage yeh that’d be amazing. Maybe just leave more raw footage and don’t edit out so much content ? I don’t want to make things more difficult on you!
"Learning to say no." Exactly. I just told my boss, "No" and it was awesome.
Just listening to you calms me!!!!
You are such a blessing, I've changed my ways in the past year, after watching your videos and others'. Thank you
Iris Fuchs thank you my dear for saying. You are a blessings too. X
Hi Niamh! I love to watch your videos. I remember there was one where you showed how you made your own curtains. Can you guide me where I can find it? Thanks so much! Sarah
Watching your videos is self care too❤️
Listening is the skill I try and practice more - sometimes more successfully than others...lol
Sundays are self-care day. I soak my feet in herbs and Epsom salts, give my self a natural manicure and pedicure and sip a big mug of Morrocan Mint tea.
Have a lovely week, Niamh
