There are many different types of matcha powder out there, meaning that for every occasion, there is a perfect matcha tea. In this ranking, we are going to break down 21 different matcha powders and explain how good each of them are and for what occasion.
To create this list, we are using reviews created by the Nio Teas Team. After traveling around Japan over the course of many years, we have tasted all sorts of matcha teas in different tea growing regions, to come up with a list of the very best. We have also incorporated public opinion, with the higher ranking matchas appealing to more people than the lower ranked ones. Finally, we are taking the unique growing regions and sub categories for the matcha into consideration. Matcha that is intended to serve different purposes such as baking, lattes and tea ceremonies will be evaluated separately.
This video is so informative and well put. Love how in depth it goes into each brand and the notes on each type of matcha. Needed this.
I'm so glad you liked it! If you want to learn more about matcha you can watch this video here:th-cam.com/video/dgldbbjscEs/w-d-xo.html
This is super informative
Im so glad you like it!
Well it appears I did a really good job picking out a selection of high quality and affordable options on your website.
I still am waiting to try the noike, the Sakamoto Sae, and Masudaen Kyoto.
At the moment I do feel a little bit drowned with so many options but I'm getting a handle on it I feel!
this is super informative i appreciate the effort and time put into these videos! where do you recommend to buy wholesale matcha from japan with the highest quality for baristas? also does a good matcha be defined by its posses of sweetness? because some matcha i've tried they smell nice and sweet but taste earthy which i like and dont mind it
That's super informative. How do I place an order and how do I see what's available
Thankyou for the great information, it might be informative in the future to include whether the leaves have been hand picked or machine picked and also include the type of shading used before tea is picked. Domo arigato.
yes we can include that! Doitashimashite
I'm new to matcha but this is super informative and I can't wait to order some!
Im so glad you like it! Let me know if you have any questions about our matcha, we have quite a few
dont fall for this trick dude get some real good bio-quallity for much less than they want to tell you to pay :D
the expansive matchas = not the best
@@thatswhyudie any recommendations?
@@fishlife7073 Sure u want pm? I mainly support the smaller and much older matcha shops but it means u have to let get it imported what means you will wait sometimes a while but it’s worth it..
@@thatswhyudie can I get more info how to directly buy from locals and small business.
Wholesome
thank you!
Where is your chawan with kumo patterns is from? It looks beautiful!
We sampled a few from the producer and decided to sell the ones we liked most. You can find them here: nioteas.com/collections/matcha-bowl
Hello awesome job great video🙂I need help am a little bit overwhelmed too much information 😱 can you tell me which one would be best? I like my matcha in lattes only and like it to be more on the earthy side than sweet but don’t mind having a little bit sweet also no budget on purchasing matcha. Hopefully you can reply to my comment
I do have a question love your videos what is the name of the cup you use to pour your matcha in ? Looks amazing would like to buy one
its just a double walled glass from Bodum, you can find these online
@@Nioteas Thank you for this I will be subscribing to you
Please can you do video to show us the matcha grade latte . In this video i can’t see where is it and how the powder looks like
yes you can also find photos of it on our website nioteas.com/collections/matcha-powder/products/latte-matcha-100g
What is your opinion on shizuoka i bought it as my first matcha and I am starting with this
Shizuoka the region? It is hard to generalize because it is so big! There are plenty of great teas being produced here but also a lot of the more mass produced teas come from Shizuoka
@Nioteas Do you know if all of these matchas are tested for heavy metals? I know that can be an issue with matcha from the soil, and I am sensitive to a lot of these heavy metals. Thank you!
This is more of an issue with the Chinese teas that are grown close to the road. It's generally not an issue with Japanese teas because the JAS standards are so high
How about a yuzu matcha?
What kind of matcha is best to make green tea white chocolate/ ice cream?
for this you would use koicha matcha so you can use the matcha washimine

Rule:If not organic then not worth of your time
Rule2: Matcha should not be sweet . Should
Rule3: Matcha has all the 4 usual flavors including the 5th Umami (tomatoes taste)
Discovered by the Japanese
New, ule four that ( let me discover how beginner I am in Matcha):
Even premium organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha has Hierarchies and
So each one provides its own mark, and a variety in flavor, as well
End note: one got to try ALL of them,
While discovering " Matcha"
Match has at least4 3istinct variations:
1.Sencha
2.Gyokuro
3.Yabukita
4.Mashamine
So at every sip on has to taste the tongue 😋 again try & live the full experience.. Finding Self in Matcha
thank you for this! Yes the exploration into matcha can be such a great adventure
Umami does not taste like tomatoes
Please suggest best matcha tea for weight loss
This would require more studies to say definitively. There is promising research being done on green tea and weight loss but we don't know much yet
First ask yourself how did I drink my last cup of Matcha
Was fast [with a pinch of greed]
Or did you go morewith a flow 🤔?
Learning to Sip tea slowly like a prayer with calm background helps you find the way of the Middle. The best path
Have you tried marukyu-koyamaen?
no we have not, I'm not sure where they source from but we try samples submitted by all the small farms around Japan. Also this list is pesticide free teas
which one of your matcha has the most caffeine and l theanine?
That's a good question, we may have to order some caffeine tests for that! I think all of the ceremonial matchas would end up in the same ballpark and if you want more caffeine you can just add more matcha!
Where can I find Imperial Ceremonial Grade Matcha ?
If you want to try some great matcha tea we found around Japan, you can try it here: nioteas.com/collections/matcha-powder-and-accessories
wako matcha tea is best

hi
thanks for watching! If you want to learn more about matcha, you can watch this video here: th-cam.com/video/dgldbbjscEs/w-d-xo.html
I love matcha buts it's difficult to find a good one
you can find all of these with the links below!
you can also find the matcha sampler or the matcha advent calendar here: nioteas.com/products/matcha-advent-calendar
Very doubtful....... No mention of the matcha from Shirakawa, cultivar Asahi or Hiraki, known to be the very best ones...
Interesting, we will have to look into these
What about the links to where to buy them??? Youre missing out on profit 1st of all
we put them in the description! You can also find them here: nioteas.com/collections/ceremonial-matcha
1:14 Omg don’t use the chashiki to mix liquids! The bamboo material is not supposed to get wet!
yes we used the back of it
Hi I need your help
yes what is it?
best matcha for brain power / awareness?
I would say go for the premium stuff like Saemidori matcha as these are high in caffeine and theanine: nioteas.com/products/matcha-tea-henta
_wow_
Thank you for watching! Let me know if you have any questions about any of the matchas
i dont get it why people pay that much for matcha my 89year old grandpa from japan said its just marketing because if u import direct from a brand (and everyone can do that ) its not like this 30g for 50$ its 50g for best bio-quallity just 19$ so i cant get it why all people on youtbe say buy the expansive, the expasive is the best blabla i just dont get it i drank it but there is nothing better on it than the normal from japan
Yes it is much better prices when you buy direct from the farmer but then you need to buy like 100 packs at a time and ship it halfway across the world so the price ends up getting a lot higher. $1 per gram means that you are only paying a dollar for a really good bowl of matcha so it still makes sense
@@Nioteas thats not quite right because you can buy less than you said and over the years you have defently less cost.. i rather buy direct because you help the locals and the smaller people that is also much better than make the already rich more rich ... #sharelove #riphumanity
@@thatswhyudie well we are no where near rich but we like to support the small farmers we work with by buying their tea at asking price and also shedding a light on all the hard work they do by talking about it in the videos
@@Nioteas u lie and if you don’t realize that #riphumanity
@thatswhyudie , What brand is good and affordable? Do you have a link please?
TMI. Not organized, not classified into buckets. At the end, I’m not sure what to buy.
Thanks for the feedback, we'll try to do better next time
Too hard to follow. I can’t see the names or anything. Sorry can’t follow this without the names to write down
they are in the description below! Thanks for the feedback though, I will try to add more titles where appropriate
This needs to be in printed format. He talks so fast you can't possibly absorb any information. Stopped listening 1/4 of the way through the video.
thanks for the feedback, I will try to slow next time. I think you can play it at half speed as well
@@Nioteas It is just a lot of information. My Brain is slow........Lol. Probably ADD!
their is an option to slow down the video to any specific speed you want tho
You can change the setting on TH-cam in the meantime at 0.75 speed
