- Part 2 of a video walkthrough for Nancy Drew: Shadow at the Water's Edge. In this part, Nancy talks to Rentaro and Miwako. She overhears someone who is upset and leaves the ryokan in a huff. Nancy also solves two nonogram puzzles.

I love Ferris Wheels. The mechanics...the circular motions...they're like collections of elegant formulas.
Love this game! But I must say, we learned this in Biology: Our genetic code is not made up of numbers. It is made up of four Nitrogen Bases that pair together in our DNA. Adenine-Thynine, and Guanine-Cytosine. So our genetic makeup is not expressed through numbers, but the letters AT and CG... Take that, Numbers! :P ...... Bazinga!

Rentaro just made it to the top of my list of favorite Nancy Drew characters
Ever since I've played this game I've been addicted to nonograms! I could literally play them for hours!!!!!
Rentaro doesn't talk too much! ...or maybe I just think so because I find him so funny. I love how Nancy is just like, "Okay..." and Rentaro keeps talking haha :)

That woman at the front desk arguing sounds like Helana Burg from The Phantom of Venice!! Woahhhhh. Maybe Nancy's travels are making her imagine past criminals?? Miwako said that travel is disorienting.

@cntuber Aside from the mirror thing and the part where Nancy stays in the sister's room. Not to mention the part where you get locked in the one room. And when the doll attacks you. I still say the part that really creeped me out personally (because no one else admitted to it yet) was when i looked into a part of the water and saw Kasumi's "face" in it.
Is it just me, or did anyone else enjoy Rentaro's rant about numbers?

LOL, the nonograms were such a pain, me and my sister Lulu could never figure it out. Also, unfortunately, the dialouge in this game was very delayed (darn you extremely old computer!) like when Nancy was supposed to get interrupted, there was a hilarious pause before she finally "was" interrupted. xD
I'm a Nonogram master, done thousands of them and love them. Awesome how they included them into this a Nancy Drew game :3
This game introduced me to Nonograms and I ended up enjoying them a lot too. Although the main website I found for them doesn't do pictures, just abstract shapes. But I love abstract art anyway.
"It's just another reason numbers are cool. Letters are cool and all, but they just make words. I mean get in the game letters! Numbers on the other hand, get a few handfuls of those and you can make a bridge or send someone into space or express the makeup of our genetic code! OR or!" One of my favorite lines of the whole game. ^_^

IT wasnt til the this walkthrough of yours, that i realized you sound kind of like the Finebros. LOL
I think this game is loosely based off the ring and ALSO the grudge. In the ring, the girl drowns and haunts everyone. There is also the creepy videotape in Yumi's house. And now for the grudge. The grudge is a Japanese movie. It's a about a girl who died in anger and sadness, and her onryo ("grudge") haunts the house she died in. Also, the creepy girl in this game looks A LOT like Kayako (the grudge girl)

Rentaro and Yumi are my favorite characters in this game (well, the ones that you can see)...
And when you're done...PICTCHA! Hahaha, I love Rentaro, I think he's my favorite ND character so far.

Rentaro is kinda like me. We're both smart, peppy, charismatic, and... We both don't know how how to SHUT UP! And I too, can be kinda awkward.

Okay, the "Horizontal Lines" that create the recognized DNA appearance, are each two different Nitrogen Bases paired together. The Four Nitrogen Bases that make up our DNA are Adenine, Thynine, Guanine, and Cytosine. These names are shortened to just their first letters. A ONLY pairs with T, C ONLY pairs with G. You may want to look it up. My explanation may be confusing. What I originally meant was that Numbers do not express our genetic codes, Letters do: AT, & CG. I thought it was funny. :-D
ROFL when rentaro said "its one of those" i accidentally clicked forward in the game and michael said puzzles meaning its one of those puzzles

at 1:37 when Rentaro says I shouldn't be telling you this, did anyone else think of Hagrid saying "I shouldn't have said that?" Or was that just me?
@Francine7 Of course i realized the Kasumi's face appearing after i posted the other post. I only mentioned it because i happened to be playing the game at the time, and there it was when i went to look at a part in the water. Only once though...which freaked me out.
Am I the only person who thinks that the robotic cat is the scariest part of the game so far? D: LOOK AT IT!!! It never blinks, its eyes are WIDE OPEN, it looks fake...and it looks like it's going to jump out and rip out people's throats!! D: It's like a Bakaneko that's homicidal, too!! D:

@Francine7 That's ok. Just go look up his video walkthrough of Secrets can Kill Remastered and you'll see it. As I said, he spends 10 minutes being very excited about it....and keeps refering to it in subsequent videos of the walkthrough afterwards.
@Terestrasz So far, I'd probably agree if it weren't the fact that I HATE the music. I mean, It's cool but it's kinda creepy to me. But, the robotic cat is NOT the scariest part of the whole game, if you haven't, you should see the whole mirror scene, *shiver*
Something seems odd with your voice overs in this game, was there like an audio issue? It seems kinda echoey.
Also, did anyone notice the person checking out sounded like Helena Berg from VEN? xD

I can't solve the third nonogram in Junior mode. The top part starts with 2,2 and the side starts with 5.

@JONAS43006 The record the ghost sounds? First get a copy of the book, then read about that. Then you need to call her (I hope you know who I'm talking about) and ask her what it is. Then go ask Rentaro. That's how I got it.
