- This video review is for Hasbro's Transformers Generation one vintage Autobot Ratchet! In this video I take a look and Ratchet Takara Diaclone Car Robot origins and well as 3rd party upgrades for this figure.
Ratchet was my first Transformers toy bought at a store called Consumers Distributors. This was a physical store where you would look up the item you wanted, fill out a form on the spot, and depending if they had it in stock, make your purchase. It was always a delight to go through the Consumers catalog's toy pages.
Cool! I have never heard of Consumers Distributors before. Did you wonder where the head was?
@@80sTransfromersFan Yes and no. Just like the package, assumed the head was the windshield, and that the robot mode wasn't complete unless it was atop the "examination table".

It was a Canadian and US company with over 200 stores.
As soon as I got my hands on the studio series 86 ratchet and was messing around with it I was browsing TH-cam and the g1 ratchet video review popped up on my feed.
Soon as I caught a glimpse of that video I was like I gotta check this out.

Excellent review of Ratchet, George!!
But I differ with you on his death in the movie.
For him not to be a warrior like the other's aboard.
I think he performed well.
1st of all, he was able to scare off Scavenger after he had killed Prowl.
2nd of all, the Decepticons hid out of the shooting range of Ratchet & Ironhide in the entrance way that Megatron created.
& last of all. Notice.
Ratchet wasn't actually shot until he was distracted by Ironhide being shot.
He actually turned to his right when Ironhide was 1st shot.
Yes, he was going to die regardless.
But I have to give him his props as well.
And that's a lot coming from me, since I am a diehard Decepticon fan. Lol.

Wow, how different Transformers would be with a female Nurse Ratchet! But i love the G1 cartoon version. Such a gentle voice.
If only they brought out the party animal in Ratchet, I always think of him as a cranky old man

Ratchet was my boy til u just pointed that part out lol I never knew about his(n Ironhide's) face originally was meant to be projected onto the windshield for robot mode. I had an ambulance toy robot but I'm not sure if it was a Gobot or some random toy and that was my Ratchet (or "Doc" as it was then called in the original Italian G1 dub), only as an adult I discovered that it was probably a better Ratchet toy than the original. lol

I always loved him. As far as I was concerned, the weirder the bot the better. I think Ironhide was my favourite autobot for a time.
I'm always surprised and happy to hear that people loved them. I wish I had given them a try as a kid.
If I didn't watch this channel I would have never known about that extension part for ratchet.and ironhide now they represented cartoon G1 counterparts.
This was my first transformer toy. I have opened and unopened G1, Takara, Masterpiece and Siege
Nice work on ratchet,didn't know you could rotate the fists on the original toy,Also i re-watched your reviews on the mini-bots to catch up and for some clarity,the 1974 copyright on some of them represents when the original micro-man toys first came out,the micro change toys that became the transformers came out the 80s.

really enjoyed this review, I even went and got my Rachet so we could enjoy it together. I did not know Ratchet was nearly a Robo-Lady.

I feel like Ratchet should've been a non-combatant, and bound to ethically treat Deceptions if they needed it. In the movie Brawn went out like a punk and Ratchet went out like that Seinfeld-looking dude in Pulp Fiction.

But my job might go on strike next month and then it's all fair game 😭 I get 70% of my toy from Ebay and that where I recommend you start. I can search for you if that what you mean ? As far as the Ironhide upgrades I purchased them from bigbadtoystore.com 10 years ago! But if they can be found anywhere it's Ebay again. You just have to keep checking. And there are a lot of G1 collectors groups that buy sale and trade vintage transformers on Facebook.
I got the encore reissue on the way they’re for sale on aliexpress
Great Review on Media Ratchet he is my other favorite Autobots characters in transformers franchise and One think about ratchet is he was going be a Female Autobot Medal but they change ratchet to be male better for ratchet

The other were 2 different ratchets this one and the 1 that everyone was used to and this is the 1 that is the more rare of the 2 because the Actually didn't make as many it's also the most valuable

I just realized something from your review. What if the white square stickers on his hands were meant to be cut into 4 smaller squares and put in the corners of the red square? You would end up with a red cross in the middle which would match the instructions and box art.

I got it from bigbadtoystore back in 2010. It's called Computer Control Center from Igear a 3rd party company. Now it go from $400 and up on Ebay!

i have a pre-rub ratchet! but the tires are cracking, the right lightbar is missing and a tred is broken, and it has chromewhear
You can bring it back to life with a cheap junker off of Ebay.

When are they gonna release g1 megatron
We almost got him at Toy R Us about 5 years ago in orange and purple colors 🤢 for safety reasons. But I believe we will see a Walmart release in the near future. Hopefully in chrome and gray.

I never had G1 Ratchet or Ironhide. I never purchased them because of how bad they looked in robot mode. Years later I still can't get down with them. I just can't find myself to add these to the G1 collection....they are just not right.
I understand , for me the characters are more important than the toys. Plus they are apart of the original 84 lineup.

Oh my goodness, that is one of the worst G1 transformers I’ve ever seen. I don’t remember any of my school friends having this. I’m really not sure I’ve ever seen it transformed in the flesh.
