    Hi there! NNP graduate here who is currently prepping for boards. I adore your channel, it has been so helpful throughout graduate school and I am constantly sharing your videos when precepting new NICU nurses. You are an amazing teacher and thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us. I would love to hear more about specific types of IEMs. Looking forward to your future release of videos regarding diagnosis/management of some of the more common disorders. They always really confuse me! Thank you again and hope to hear more about this topic! -Laura (NICU Nurse at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta -Egleston and soon to be NNP with Emory Group

      Hi Laura! I did my residency and fellowship at Emory- and absolutely LOVED it there! (I just sent a clip for Dr. Bugg's retirement- such an amazing man). It was such fantastic education and I'm so excited for you to be starting there- love it all. We put out two other videos on NBS- I didn't go over the specific diagnoses, just went through signs/ sx/ tests/ treatment in generalities (giving loads of examples). Just tried to make it as clinically relevant as possible- but I know going over individual dx would be good too. (All so confusing!!). Maybe check out other two (can find on home page)- and let us know what you'd like us to do next. Good luck on your boards- I'm sure you'll do great XX

    Great video on a tough topic my friend. Very nice summary and overview of eval and management of IEM. PH and ammonia are so key to helping you decide which pathways may be affected. Great job

    Another great video!! These babies are head scratchers sometimes. There have been a few over the years. I specifically remember standing over a cot and telling a baby "well buddy you're not septic, so why are you broken?" It was an IEM .

    I am a neonatologist from China, can you tell us in detail the emergency procedure of IEM management through a case (we all know that tandem mass spectrometry and urinary organic acids do not produce results quickly), and how to deal with it when we don't know the relevant situation, thank you

    • @TalaTalksNICU
      @TalaTalksNICU  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello! We’re so glad you’re here. We have two more videos coming out on IEM so we’ll be going into a lot more details then. The key thing is to stop feeds and give dextrose and electrolytes (no protein and initially no fat) and treat acidosis , and treat ammonia supportively.
