    I once created a character that was the lost child of an Azlanti noble, she was adopted and raised by an Android on Absolom Station and eventually discovered her true parentage. Where upon the party had to rescue her before her biological family used some powerful hybrid tech to erase her mind and make her into a true believer of the star empire, they succeeded in the end, but not before she lost her ability to speak common.

      That sounds like an intense character arc

      My character in the upcoming campaign is a half Azlanti/Elf the daughter of a scandalous relationship between her father, an Azlanti noble, and an elven slave. one reason she joined the military to prove herself and honor her disgraced family.

    I'm expecting they are going to come out with a Azlanti Star Empire sourcebook at some point.
    I can see adventures set there in the classic 'Star Wars' style; players fighting against a mostly human dominant 'Evil Empire'.

    • @TheMapleTable
      @TheMapleTable  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Id be surprised if we don't get one. They are really working to flesh out the universe right now.
      An Azlanti book would add depth though for sure

    Unless the Empire gets a new book or a longer adventure path, I'll have to make an extended version of "Against the Aeon" with a plot that continues AFTER the campaign ends.

      @@TheMapleTable I'm patient, I can fill in gaps myself.

    • @godzillavkk
      @godzillavkk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMapleTable I've also expanded on more vague aspects. For example, I wrote what life on New Thespera is like. On the surface, it looks nearly identical to Equestria from MLPFIM. On the surface, Eronesse and other cities are shining cities filled with fine shops, restaurants, and the best of everything you'd want in a city. The towns are full of small, but prosperous businesses, and people who enjoy a more quiet life. The people are very happy, people, friendships are strong, family bonds are just as strong, and this is part of Azlanti culture. Hell, in my own setting, aliens in the Empire have it better then in the mainstream one. The Star Imperator is adored by most of the population, and lower ranking royalty are also just as loved.
      But if you looked closer... you'd realize that New Thespera and the rest of the Empire is a totalitarian police state that not only monitors your very step, but even your thoughts, and soul. As a result, if someone has few friends, or is not on good terms with family, or asks questions about the system, or does not meet any of the other standards, and has made slow progress in therapy, or refuses to go, they are are paid visits from the police... and they don't always ear uniforms. Some are imprisoned on the prison moon, others are given fates worse then deaths, such as being jailed in Hell itself or turned to stone. Others are enslaved to keep the cities running. And others are executed... and not even death shows mercy. For their souls are imprisoned to power the Aeon Throne itself. All the external enemies of the Empire are cursed to suffer this fate. As a result, the climax involves destroying the throne itself and freeing the imprisoned souls.

    I made a race for my friend's starfinder campaign. They were biological computers of a long dead race but eventually were corrupted with their preservation protical having them gain bidies similar to the dna it stored. They are promitive but hold so much untapped knowledge (like aboliths but they don't have acces to these stored memories). When they were discovered on their death world, it was found that an enzine in their nurological tissue enhanced psyonics but killed 95% of them while the remaining 5% were braindead (destroying the stored memories unbenownced to the explorers).
    This empire would definitely be farming them but not take them seryeven if they can alter their forms with aquiered DNA (made this before I heard about the swarm).

    • @fenrisulfhamr
      @fenrisulfhamr 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So this psionic enhancing enzyme- it kills 95% of users and leaves the other 5% braindead? ...or is ths the stat for the race itself? That's 100% dead/braindead- is there a way to harvest the enzyme to enhance psionics? Also, what do they LOOK like?
      You have me curious!

    Two possibilities.
    Either they don't view the swarm as a threat because they've met it before and conquered or pushed it back.
    OR, they think it isn't really real, just space rumor hearsay, and will get swallowed up because of their own hubris.
    Feel free to pick either scenario.

    So, hilariously, my character from Rise of the Runelords was a modern day kid from Earth(well, 19 on the day he left Earth). (Yes, I know, due to a certain later module, the time frame doesn't line up. But that module didn't exist at the time, so hush.) On the way to Golarion, on the back of a Shantak, he encountered a group of space faring but non-FTL people who were Human Supremacists, that he called "space nazis".
    Little did I know that I'd somehow predicted the Star Empire. XD

    I wonder why they would not have gone too the star stone and taken over Absolam station in the early years after the Gap. With the station being the easiest place in the galaxy to get to I can't imagine them taking over this strategic position. I'm loving Starfinder but man is there is a lot of logic holes in the disposition of races and empires.

    • @TheMapleTable
      @TheMapleTable  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The empire is so big, to my understanding, that they just simply havent gotten around to taking the pact worlds. they were content to watch the pact worlds and the veskarium fight each other while they worked towards their own goals. if you know you can just reach out and take something but you dont need it right now ... why waste effort?

      @@TheMapleTable Or even better... Perhaps there is something on the backside of the mighty Azlanti Empire that has thier might commited, just to keep it at bay. Commiting resources to take a non-threat would spread them too thin to hold the line too.
