    “Hey, if Starfinder is the future of Pathfinder, don’t we have to figure out what happens, and does that kinda render PC interaction meaningless?”
    “Oh. Um… Golarion vanishes.”
    “Okay but we have Gods and Divine intervention. High level spells give you ageless beings to question with a simple opposed charisma check.”
    “Everybody forgets and the Gods won’t say.”
    “Wouldn’t that make people paranoid of the gods or even blame them?”
    “…no?”
    Honestly I think a very fun game concept would be someone investigating the gap and them being blocked by acts of fate as Gods both good and evil, lawful and chaotic, interfere with them at every opportunity.

      I could see it as an SCP style temporal cognitohazard. If you try to learn about it, and begin to succeed, your mind warps in some way to prevent or even undo the learning and stop you from realizing what it's doing to your brain

      So the reasons for the Gap can be anything, what any GM wants it to be…? 🤔

      @6NecserHalo6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@senint Yes! In my setting the GAP lasted millenia and the gods disappear just a couple of centuries after it. Like a way to put more mistery into it.

      Caiden Caylen is one of the few who will talk about the gap but he is never happy doing so. He jokes a bit saying he must have been on a bender and blacked out but you can tell it scares the fuck outta him that he can't remember.

    I just started running a Starfinder game, and I got to admit, normally I'm a D&D 3.5 system guy, but I actually like Starfinder more than any D&D system. I've made my own universe based off our solar system, starting with "The Gap" being the moment worlds started mixing, combining magic and mundane world in ancient time. The new Precog class is a little difficult to work with, but I'm doing my best. Any advice on it?

    • @TheMapleTable
      @TheMapleTable  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't had a chance yet to add it to a game, I would suggest only making it an npc for now to get a feel for it?

    • @oldcampaign
      @oldcampaign 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheMapleTable I got a player who wanted to be the test dummy for the Precog, and he chose the Gap subclass there. Kinda noticed it might be a bit OP, but they're only 2-3 players, so I should be able to adjust after a few sessions. I'll probably put it as an NPC to see how my Sunday players can deal with it. Thank you!

      @@TheMapleTable I think they're referring to a concept from Elder scrolls, it’s related to the God/Divine of Dragon’s Akatosh, who is also the divine of time. A dragon break is, well the best way I could describe it from my own understanding is it’s a stable paradox. What exactly it does seems to very and there are different accounts about what happens in universe, but one thing that can happen is you get is completely contradictory events occurring at the same point in time but afterwards everything is completely fine. Best example I can think of is the Numidum (a Giant Dwemer Robot) which was effected by a Dragon Break. To make a long story short, it was destroyed, and because of its destruction several things happened, however, because it was in a Dragon Break. While it was destroyed, history says it was destroyed, people remember it being destroyed, and events played out in a certain way because it was destroyed, you can still find the thing walking around right as rain.
      To put it another way, it’s basically when someone manages to give the timeline a concussion, do whatever they want while it’s stumbling around trying to figure out which direction is up, and afterwards people just go back to their business.
