    God bless this video for being called white noise and ACTUALLY BEING literal white noise. I don't want 620 different kinds of relaxing atmosphere when I search for a very specific type of sound.

    I find it quite amusing yet not entirely surprising that a video of nothing but 12 straight hours of static has earned 3 million views on TH-cam. (hey, if I searched for it to try to help focus during studying, I'm sure thousands of others have as well)

    Im a sufferer of tinnitus through 11 months, when i first fired this up and listened to it for an hour or so, I paused the video, I was at the brink of crying, for the first time in 11 months there were silence for 10 minutes, I mean complete silence, I could hear a pin drop to the floor, I recommend this gift to everyone suffering from tinnitus, this might sound a bit emotional but i truly owe the uploader of this my gratitude, thank you David Rothstein, I can now go to bed with my mind clean.

    this is best thing we ever came across!! not only does my 7 month old actually sleep longer than 20 min when I have white noise on, but I sleep like a baby too!! thank you for making such a long one for all night sleep! this is my 1st time listening to this one and 3rd time all together. I recommend to all parents with babie! this is the best! inside our bellies is very loud for them so this is very soothing to our babies, and stress reliever for them with all the stimulating new stuff, and stress reliever for us to sleep!!

    thanks for uploading this. my uncle was blasting music in the room next to me -- loud enough so he could hear it across the house -- while I was trying to read. I put some earplugs in and blasted this on the speakers and was able to get through a few chapters before the next interruption.

    Why is this sound relaxing for human beings? I have roommates that has this white noise machine, there is also a small wind current or maybe fan going on somewhere. They always have it on when they sleep and when there is something important going on I want to wake them up by calling their name. But they look so peaceful in their deep sleep I don't want to disturb them lol.

    • @lalotz
      @lalotz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      because everything is made of sound even us. sound is 3 dimensional. white noise is the combination of all existing tones. there are easily over 20,000 tones mix in white noise, even tones that we cant hear. Just like white light, its the combination of all colors.
      This video with white noise is the right one. I have a NCH tone generator and ive been comparing and this one is dead on the right white noise.

    • @Sancarn
      @Sancarn 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hontoni Arigato I think it's because it's neutral sound. It's the most neutral sound that we have and have you ever tried to hear noises while listening to this? I mean, for example... Try to hear the sound of you typing when you listen to this.... It sounds so quiet. I think it's because it's more of a filter. A filter for every other sound that we hear... And it's constant... something our minds can just focus on. Unchanging.

      armani you are not alone. What are your causes? Mine started late February, the result of a stressful move to my new home. I've noticed it comes on when i get angry or the wind is strong ( which annoys me anyway). I have audiology, he told me they'll work on it to get it to the normal levels it was when it wasn't noticeable.

      +armani nabz I'm going to "celebrate" 4th year with tinnitus this december. never changed. nevere went louder ot lower....but now I thjink it's going worse or maybe its my feeling on it. I'd be glad to reduce it 20% in order to stop hearing it at least during day or in noisy places... I can hear it sometimes, even when going on motorbike with helmet and wind passing noisy all around me...but I know that 40% is fault of my mind attention on it.... I'm sorry for my english, if it's not so good but I dont even want to control what I wrote. :D

    Dude, this totally works. It drowns out all other noises from the room. My mum is watching tv and my brothers are running around screaming and my cousin is crying, yet I don't hear any of it. Usually, with music I can hear everything around me. But, wow! This is so cool. This will for sure help me with concentrating on work in a crowded place or for going to sleep faster. Wonderful. Brb, adding this to my phone.

    • @rosariosamuelD
      @rosariosamuelD 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to break on headphones. Good headphones are broken in for better sound output from anywhere near 24-72 hours. This white noise is great because it's just static so it will hit a whole bunch of different frequencies that would otherwise be missed if you just had your headphones hooked into the radio all day and night or something.

    this clip greatly helps to drown out my high-frequency tinnitus- I was amazed at how effective and fast the white noise filtered out my ringing- it is great relief for days where it is particularly loud or after too much coffee, beer etc. it has helped me for months to get to bed easier, easing, and ridding of stressful quiet nights. Thank you very much for uploading, to me, a very important clip which I sleep to 24/7.

    I'm studying for first year finals in a library filled with inappropriate chatter, so this really helps me to focus and work well. Thank you so much for uploading this.

    Who else can hear: heavy rainfall, beads/Lego pieces pouring into a bag, frying some food, the jungle, water pipe burst, a waterfall, steam powered engines? I just sat here for 15 mins imagining all of those and it felt like 10 seconds went by.

    This was incredibly helpful with reading for school. Drowned out noises that would distract me without becoming a distraction in itself. Thanks!

    I always find this so relaxing, it's kinda like a consistently dry rain; I'm the kind of guy who likes to have noise when he sleeps, but nothing loud, and it has to be consistent, so this is perfect for me. Also, I've had experience with it alleviating a headache if played through headphones, but if the headache was caused by stress then it might just be a relaxation response.

    Whenever I'm around complete silence, I get this weird sensation in both ears. It feels like a really strong wind is being blown into them. It's the strangest feeling, and very annoying, because it prevents sleep a lot. This has helped immensely. I can't thank you enough.
