After you reach V1, it's customary to take your hand off the thrust levers. Because once you're at V1, if you have an engine failure you keep going, rotate and takeoff. Keeping your hand on the levers might cause you to abort and pull the levers back and run out of runway.
I just got the captains pack and stoked that you can buy the add-on later, Since im just a gamer who likes flying in VR its a good way to see if im still flying alot after a month and if yes buy the add on!

5:14 you have to use FS2020 ON-PRESS / ON-RELEASE options on the binding to make the Engine mode switch work between NORM and IGNITION. The same works for the parking break ON/OFF.
Good video. Btw, the autobrake selector isn't really a "Boeing style" autobrake, it's actually the selector from the A380 and A350, which is a rotational knob including the 'BTV' setting (like on the Thrustmaster).

Thanks for the video, you really do a good job with this and helped me make my decision once and for all. I can see this just collecting dust and taking up space. It's so cool to me that there are apparently enough people wanting to fly the heavies in FS that TM can make a profit off of these. I wish they'd expand their combat line with this modularity, though.
At 5:57 those lights below the engine master switches are fire warning lights. They illuminate, along with the Fire push buttons on the overhead panel when you get an engine fire. It’s just another way to confirm your engine is definitely on fire. 👍

That illuminates amber in case the fuel HP shut off is an abnormal position, the automatic start sequence is aborted or if there is a malfunction of the thrust control. The fault light is not something I’ve ever seen to be fair. Even when I’m in the sim. It’s not a button on the aircraft either, it’s just a FIRE & FAULT light. 👍
Why didn't they just design the speed brake lever with a hump at the end? So that we could just push the lever gently to the front to arm the speed brakes (like reverse thrust on Saitek throttle quadrant but for the speed brakes)
Well to add to the mysterious design decisions the first question that popped into my mind when I had the throttle in hand: Why didn't they design the detents according to the real thing instead splitting the throttle into even 25%. That is not how the detends are positioned on the real thing and it makes the travel range between idle and clb detend much too small.

I get the Thrustmaster Airbus Throttle Quadrant and the Saitek Switch panel with the 3x Lights when the Gear is down all green befor Red i am happy with this the Add On Flap and Speedbreak levlers i dont need.
Just bought this, and was somewhat mildly bemused, kind of 50-50 about it. The switches besides the levers felt very flimsy. So far, you are one of the best reviewers here, pointing out the things other simmer often missed: that flap lever action (lift button to move it between gates). Plus, why the Airbus A350-style autobrake switch? Ain't no flight sim in this world got that BTV function simulated.
Hi, are the issues you mentions in msfs fixed now? I'm thinking of buying one. 🤔 Are any of the throttle-related issues still not fixed? Such as the eng 1 and 2 start switches, park break and speed break delay etc. Unfortunately in my country, the captain's edition costs around 450usd so I just want to be sure these issues are fixed before purchasing. You'll find that when the controller initialised because the position of the park brake was different to in-game it depends on how the switch is configured in the hardware. Turn the park brake to on, THEN fire up the computer and it should come good in the game. Once you are on the runway flicking the brake off should then cause it to turn off in the game as well. Happened a few times with my Logitech throttle quadrant
it actually works correctly now if the control is set to "Set parking Brake" instead of "Toggle parking brake". same for the landing gear, use "Set gear" isntead of "Toggle..." note however that currently the " Set gear" command is broken and allows only to set gear up and won't set them down. it was working a couple weeks ago but not anymore until MS fixes the issue

Thank you for the video, I am still waiting for my officer pack (pre ordered in June) so I think I’ll hold off for now, very disappointed that it has stretched out this far... I wanted this quadrant add on but I am honestly turned off by the amount of time it’s taken to get the officer pack, could be another year.
There was me waiting for the most important bit, where you click the throttle through the climb detent and into the flex detent for takeoff... and instead you slam it all the way to TOGA.
Lol. I explained the detents earlier in the video. But during take off theres no reason to stop at every notch. But yes there are detents at each position. Haha thanks for watching tho

How come in the A320, when I engage the auto pilot and set altitude (or speed), sometimes I have to press the button to engage selected speed, and sometimes it will do it automatically? What about using auto pilot on the fire fault kind of push button? for the park brake, the bug comes from MSFS which does not manage release function... I hope they will bring it asap because all peripherals with switches behave the same
@6:00 those are the Fire lights when you get a fire on an engine they iluminate th also on the overhead lights which are one channel the pedestal lights are another channel for redundancy

Actually, that Autobrake is used in Airbus Aircrafts but only in the A340 and A380. Interestingly, it also has some Break to Vacate Indication on it. Might come in handy when the FBW A380 releases :)

Ideally that’s exactly when it goes to idle but in reality you may go to idle a little before or a little after the retard announcement depending on your airspeed, height, how the flare is going, winds etc
Can i use the addons whithout the throttle? It may sound stupid but I suppose some people might not want to use the throttle since they might use their old hotas but still want physical flaps, spoilers, parking brake, amd landing gear lever.
i wonder if these can be remapped to become an ultimate train sim controller. throttle, locomotive brake, train brake, pantographs.... buttons and levers for everything on this throttle :)

I’ve waited for the throttle quadrant since the day it came out on pre order, I had it cancelled 4 times, I had to stay in all Christmas Eve to wait for it to come and then they rang me at 10 pm on Xmas eve to say it was cancelled which made it 5 times

Hello, can I ask you a question? how come my throttle doesn’t match the in game throttle? Like for instance, when I put my throttle to the FLEX position, the in-game throttle is barely in the CLIMB position. So therefore, I have to move it close to TOGA in my throttle so it can be right on FLEX in the in-game throttle. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
On 3:55 you commenting that the autobrake setting has noch rotary selector in real life. This is true for the A320 but the A340-600 in real life has a rotary autobrake selector. By the way nice video

Funny thing is , in every review of the TCA Officers Pack with Addon people ALWAYS forget to use the spoilers in their landing. This is fourth review i watch now and what did you forget ? Yes you ignored the spoilers lever completely although you even mentioned it right before. :-D Why is that so ?

The quality is the same as the flaps, both plastic, quiet when u move it. You cant pull it upward to arm them like in real life. And its not used as often unless you are speeding. Hope that helps
I think one of the guys mentioned it below than those black lights indicate ENG 1(2) Fault/ Fire Light.... start fault in amber and triggered red for a engine fire warning.
I just saw your video and immediately ordered the Throttle Quadrant ADD-ON / from Amazon. Currently, its on backorder. I received the Airbus, Throttle and Joystick from Amazon last week and watch several U-Tube videos on how to set them up. As of today, they are not working after I down loaded the drivers... Not sure what to do yet...

SATA cables are surprising! I don't think I've ever seen SATA connections used for anything other than a storage device before.
Those buttons on left and right of the engine mode selector are indicators in the real airbus. They can show "FIRE" and "FAULT".

The autobrake on the TCA is the one on the A350 with BTV (brake to vacate) lo 2 3 and Hi

Even if they fixed all the bugs, the honeycomb throttle seems like a infinitely better option.
In my opinion, it is, it's much better for immersion since you can customize it for just about any plane, honeycomb support is also MUCH better

Alot has updated since the initial release so setup should be easier. But I know are some tricky mappinga for the FBW A320 and Fenix a320 now

When I fly a 747 x 4 Engine the peripheral only allows me to use 2 engines I even switch the button at the bottom to 4 engine but no luck. Any tips?

Good landing! just one thing though. When the callout says "Retard", that is when you put thrust to idle. Besides that, you did a good job
Ideally that’s exactly when it goes to idle but in reality you may go to idle a little before or a little after the retard announcement depending on your airspeed, height, how the flare is going, winds etc

Can i use the addons whithout the throttle? It may sound stupid but I suppose some people might not want to use the throttle since they might use their old hotas but still want physical flaps, spoilers, parking brake, amd landing gear lever.

i wonder if these can be remapped to become an ultimate train sim controller. throttle, locomotive brake, train brake, pantographs.... buttons and levers for everything on this throttle :)

I’ve waited for the throttle quadrant since the day it came out on pre order, I had it cancelled 4 times, I had to stay in all Christmas Eve to wait for it to come and then they rang me at 10 pm on Xmas eve to say it was cancelled which made it 5 times

Out of curiosity, did you have to "program" all the buttons, throttle, essentially everything in flight sim or was it a simply "plug and play"? Struggling to program my current flight stick with flight sim and debating upgrading if it is plug and play with flight sim. Also, great review.
Hello, can I ask you a question? how come my throttle doesn’t match the in game throttle? Like for instance, when I put my throttle to the FLEX position, the in-game throttle is barely in the CLIMB position. So therefore, I have to move it close to TOGA in my throttle so it can be right on FLEX in the in-game throttle. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
On 3:55 you commenting that the autobrake setting has noch rotary selector in real life. This is true for the A320 but the A340-600 in real life has a rotary autobrake selector.

Those two buttons/lights below the engine master switches are ENG FIRE lights and ENG FAULT lights.

I bought my side stick and throttle quadrant from MS store, but I can't seem to find the quadrant add ons anywhere except mypilotcentral, where of course there is a waitlist and it is out of stock.

Funny thing is , in every review of the TCA Officers Pack with Addon people ALWAYS forget to use the spoilers in their landing. This is fourth review i watch now and what did you forget ? Yes you ignored the spoilers lever completely although you even mentioned it right before. :-D Why is that so ?

@@BluGames I just wanted to see and hear that lever being actually used. :-) To get a picture of the build quality and so on. But for some reason everyone is mentioning them but rarely anybody actually touches them in their videos. :-D
The quality is the same as the flaps, both plastic, quiet when u move it. You cant pull it upward to arm them like in real life.
And its not used as often unless you are speeding. Hope that helps
If you use the throttle can you fly single engine aircraft? Also this stick supports Windows 11 right?
I'm still waiting on my officer pack pre order from August.......It'd be nice if they could get caught up on throttle quadrants first.

I think one of the guys mentioned it below than those black lights indicate ENG 1(2) Fault/ Fire Light.... start fault in amber and triggered red for a engine fire warning.
I just saw your video and immediately ordered the Throttle Quadrant ADD-ON / from Amazon. Currently, its on backorder. I received the Airbus, Throttle and Joystick from Amazon last week and watch several U-Tube videos on how to set them up. As of today, they are not working after I down loaded the drivers... Not sure what to do yet...
I also updated my drivers & tested it. It should work by default MSFS & Xp for sure just check your control settings
You mentioned several software/hardware issues with the equipment. Do you know if the manufacturer has addressed and corrected these inconsistencies?
Software had been fixed for most sims and aicraft.
Hardware is unchanged
