    "100% not supposed to live" dude, Cummins never die😂I found an 89 sitting in the woods, no axels, body completely gone, hadn't ran since 98 (this takes place in 2018), I change the fuel, oil, and batteries and it started on its 3rd try, engine is now sitting in my 94 Chevy 1 ton making 400ish hp and I've had no problems other that with the trans losing 5th gear.

    • @Jhubes5.9
      @Jhubes5.9 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Ah, the notorious disappearing 5th gear in the nv4500. Had that happen in my 94 running compounds doing a couple pulls. The inner teeth on the synchro clutch cone stripped on the shaft

    • @Jhubes5.9
      @Jhubes5.9 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aidan callen I’ve never personally done anything with that transmission but from what I’ve heard is It's a triple shaft, large transmission, and it takes a VERY large puller and press to get the bearing off the main shaft. The syncros also wear on the gear itself so it's likely you may need a gear if the syncro is bad

      The ideal ratio a/f ratio for a diesel is about the same as gas at close to 14.7:1. But, because of the way the diesel burns at that ratio you’ll get quite a bit of smoke. This truck could be tuned better and have a bigger turbo to make the same power without all the smoke at a leaner ratio. But, many people think the smoke is cool so they just throw a bunch of fuel at it.
