That's a pretty big pool out of context but with him pumping out content like he does it ends up being very little. Must be working for him for most people.
Don't blame chinese guys for it, there was a reason why not a single guy from the USA was shown. The reason is they quited before the 5 years of training. Or they jumped on gear. Or they're still looking shit after 5 years.😂😂😂
I'm realizing how much dieting really has an effect on my weight, personally. Last year, I lost about 50lbs dieting and jumping rope. I got a new job this past Spring that has me walking 20k-30k steps a day. Because of that, I put the gym out of my schedule. Starting eating worse, too. Gained like 20 pounds in the past 6 months, even though I'm doing plenty of exercise through my new job; my change of diet this year has had a HUGE impact on my weight. Time to fix that now and get back to where I was! (I went from 190lbs to 145lbs last year, I was sooo close to reaching my goals and shamefully just let it slip from me this year)
I would love to see a video where Coach Greg hand draws his idea of a peak natural physique or has an artist do it for him. He could break down everything from the muscle insertions to the bone structure and show us what a 10/10 really looks like in his head.
You do that too huh? Lol I use minimal doses and also work out but the main reason I started using was for my job I have a very physically demanding job and wasn’t recovering like I could when I was young. Sore all the time and constantly feeling crappy or getting little injuries. I was still outworking most people but now I can do it and barely feel it the next day. That would actually be a pretty interesting video tbh.
You should ask Coach Steve AKA Vigorous steve Steve that question on his next livestream saturday. He's awesome, way more knowledgable and way bigger! :D
What a fantastic video, Coach Greg! Your insights on genetics and bodybuilding are always enlightening, and I appreciate how you break down the complexities of physique development with such clarity. It's fascinating to see how you highlight the role of genetics in shaping our potential. I mean, who knew that some of us might be destined for the "average Joe" physique while others are practically sculpted by the gods? It’s like a genetic lottery, and some of us definitely got the “please try again” ticket! Your comparison of Jeremy to Chris Bumstead was spot on. It’s a great reminder that while we can all strive for improvement, not everyone is going to have those “Instagram model” genetics. But hey, as you said, even if we can’t all be champions, we can still be above average-and that’s something to flex about! Also, your mention of performance-enhancing drugs is crucial. It’s a reality check for many aspiring bodybuilders. It’s like trying to bake a cake without the right ingredients; sometimes, you need a little extra help to rise to the occasion! Thanks for the free training and diet resources too! I’m definitely going to check those out. Here’s to embracing our unique genetic blueprints and making the most of what we’ve got-one rep at a time! 💪 P.S. If only there were a peptide for motivation; I’d be first in line!
I'm glad that Greg has a video that shows only long-term bodybuilding with examples. Because this almost never happens in months for the average person. It takes years. There were examples of all 3 body types. As an ectomorph, I was particularly happy that you pointed out at the end that people like me also have a chance. Advantages and disadvantages. I have visible results in the last 1.5 years as well. They are not that big, but still significant. I don't think of it as a competition. I don't want to be the first. I just want to get to the finish line. I don't want to fail. I didn't document my progress. I don't have an initial or current photo either. I don't take it completely seriously. I don't go to the gym (yet), I train at home. My diet could also be improved, clearly. My weight is now between 73-76 kg instead of the initial 71-74 kg. But it's more like 75 kg, as I measured it now (for my height of 183 cm). You shouldn't really measure your progress against others. Because most of the time you get discouraged, because there is always someone who has improved much more than you. And that person will surely rub under your nose how much of a piece of sh.t you are, that you could only manage so much in all this time. Progress must be appreciated. According to your own rhythm of life and your possibilities. Because not everyone has the opportunity to go to the gym every day. Or, in addition to the family, perhaps only 30 minutes to 1 hour at home is available as training. And not every day. Or an illness hinders you, and because of that your training is not so effective. If you enjoy working out, keep going. I will also be interested in my long-term results. Let's say in 3-4 years. I believe I will look better than I do now. Even though I'll be closer to 40 than 30 by then.
I like the video idea, it’s similar to the body fat videos where people send in their photos. And like the body fat percentage videos, this was insightful.
tbf I don't think you can rate genetics just of a before and after photo, we don't know how hard they worked, how much they were eating before hand and how much exercise they were doing before hand.
I was always super skinny as a teen but fairly muscular since I did combat sports. While I lifted weights in the past I started my first real bulk almost exactly a year ago at 148lbs, 21yo. I am now 192 without much excess fat. No gear, or any of that BS. What’s holding me back the most currently are my broad hips but can’t really do much about that. All I’m saying is crazy muscle gains are possible without gear
Man you better keep doing this in 4 years. I'm 1 year in and dropped 80 lbs. I was always fat but i think I'm gonna go pretty crazy in the next year and cut the next 40 lbs off and think I'll actually have a decent physique. Hopefully at least
