In your DS 160 form, it's already "have you lost a passport before or something like that question." If your answer is "no." You don't have to worry but you will need to honestly explain to the officer how it got lost.
Your past travel history has no effect in getting your visa approved except you did the right thing. Most people get their visa approved with a virgin passport. Your past travel history is not aguarantee. Depend on your purpose of visit
