My mother and I’s B1/B2 visa denied today
Although:
- My documents were fine
- My ties were documented and strong
- My attitude was extremely respectful and smily
- I was not disrespected in any way, but why would I get denied?
The consular officer didn’t ask for any documents besides passports and I was dealt a rejection after only 4 questions.
1. “How are you two related?”
2. “What is the purpose of your visit?”
3. (Question to mom): “What do you do for a living?”
4. (Question 2 repeated for me)
5. (To me): “How much is your salary?”

Pls I’m self employed and I want to go on a tour in the United state for just two weeks. Do I need to submit any letter to the consular about my travel on my day of interview? Again, my savings account and my business account which one do I need to submit to my interview? Also, at the section of “Employer” I wrote the name of my business in that margin when filling the forms although I’m self employed and is that wrong? But still I have my business certificate.
You don’t need to submit an employment letter. You can use both statements
