I own a 98 Camry with over 400,000 miles and a 2001 Corolla with 370,000 miles. They have never let me down once, never a breakdown. Both have rust in rocker panels unfortunately and the corolla burns oil like crazy because of faulty engine design but I wouldn't get rid of them for anything.

The manual transmission on that car was fantastic and I never once had to replace the clutch. The G35 I replaced it with? Had to replace the clutch every 75k miles like clockwork.
Wow, what a boring car. My dad gave me his BMW 325i. Within three months it needed new brakes ($800), new tires ($200, used), a new fuel pump ($300), air conditioner/heater stopped working (I did my best to ignore it) interior continued shredding (I ignored it) plastic grills cracked and eventually fell off (where, IDK) coolant leaked (probably a head gasket leak from when my dad overheated it when the plastic filler thingy broke) out, cooling system eventually failed (I even did my best to igore this), I put in new battery ($150!!!). That is the short list. Every day was a new adventure. I sold the car to a twenty-something kid who looked like he needed some BMW excitement in his life. By this time I had been watching Scotty daily. Now I own a boring Toyota Solara. I now seem to have a lot of free time to reminisce about the glory days of my BMW experience. Thanks Scotty!

you should have brought a junkyard car. my city car is a 400 dollar Chevy celebrity with over 300k miles on it. I just change oil every 3k miles, do basic matenance. I have roll down Windows and no AC, but the navigation system is probably worth more than the car. I took a Mercedes emblem from the pull a part and glued it on the car. now I have a German luxury car.
My dad owns a 2009 Toyota Camry sedan with a manual transmission. He got it salvaged but I don't know how much he paid for it. It was really rare to have those types of cars in a manual. I think he had it since 2014.

2010 Camry 225k miles I abused the living hell out of it and all it needs is an alignment. The damn thing is a wildebeest. Also got in 2 accidents both not my fault and it just doesn’t have any serious damage.
This is what I like about Scotty, he’ll feature a video like this. Too many people are too serious about their damn cars. I like this kids sense of humour. He genuinely appreciates his car and he makes some good points. My daughters first car was a hand me down (from me) 2002 Camry. Currently my wife has a 2014 Camry. We have a 12 year old Prius (it replaced our 2002 Camry) and we have a 2009 Avalon, which out 18 year old son drives. His friends appreciate how luxurious and roomy the damn thing is, plus it has a half decent JBL stereo. When you need multiple cheap used reliable cars, because you have multiple drivers and not a bundle of money, you can’t beat Toyota.
My wife drives a 2003 Camry LE 165,000 miles I bought her a 2013 Camry SE that I traded my Civic in for she drove the new Camry a few weeks and said she preferred the 2003, it's 16 years old but when we travel take the 2003 say look we're going 110 mph and rides smooth and I love the short turning ratio it gets detailed once a year so the paint is still perfect, I've own in the same time a Altima, Accord, and a Civic but now I will stick with the Camry, I also own a 1985 Toyota Xtra cab pickup with 340,000 miles that is nicknamed O'l Faithful, the Camry's have been the most reliable followed by the Civic EX
So do I. The parts are getting hard to find and its finally giving me problems. I'm so sad to have to replace it so I'm doing as much research as I can to try to get similar quality and life I got out of my '98 baby
Lucas Cruz it’s a late 90’s and it isn’t shitty. One of the best cars ever built and is fairly modern. Maybe the outside likes a bit dated but it looks like every early 2000’s car tbh.
Hey Scotty love your show ! You are so right about the Camry , my 2010 Camry in which I got in 2009 new looks and runs like its brand new at 10 years old I have 45000 miles , I’m still on factory brakes rotors, only service I’ve done is change the oil regularly, 1 new battery , and tires . My wife uses the car every day for work here in TX for 7 years now from NYC originally.
If a high schooler like me can drive a 2005 Jeep that has no problems then your son should definitely be able to get a few years to a decade out of it. Unless he is abusing it.
Most likely he will. I drive a 1999 Camry Solara V6, which just means it's a 2-door Camry. 135k miles and no signs of drivetrain issues. It'll last him.
Frank. T the only head issue is his head as I don’t know how you can seat on horrible Toyota seats for that long without suffering from major back ache.
This young man has a bright future. Plus, this Camry will allow him to save plenty of $ over the years so he will be able to one day afford the car of his dreams that still probably doesn't have a glove box.
I got 2007 XLE Camry 80k miles. Stock features: JBL system, leather seats, sun roof, voice commands, free hands calling. Love the car been 12 years old looks like a 2017 and it had more stuff than some of this 2020. I am driving it to the ground. Why a car payment : ).
I bought my grandmas 2008 Toyota Camry nice car it only has 22,000 miles on it last summer runs great ice cold ac nice heat no rust or damage on the outside clean interior my Camry is the same color as the one in video I bought it for $250 for scrap value
My father owns a 2008 camry, still on this day. It has about 120-130k miles on it. Never disappoint him. With that 11 years of owning the car, he only needed to replace the catalytic converter. Car still run like brand new. My dad only spoiled his car with oil change. Great car
My grandpa owns a 2011 XLE Camry,he bought it new when it just came out and only has drove it 12k miles.I drove it ones and I fell in love with it it’s such a smooth, comfortable car
@@Ryno-fp7pm You don't even need the parking brake in certain situations. Most FWD cars can slide a little with hard turns, brake initiation, and dirt/snow.

Ahh the 2az... I remember mine like yesterday. Quart of oil every thousand miles, and Toyota's refusal to correct the issue, even though it was under a TSB and failed all of their tests to qualify for the fix..
I used to drive my honda and Toyota to the breaking point when i was young and dumb but they always kept driving like new. Didint change the oil for about 50 thousand k. It still ran like new. Now i have a 2012 honda with a manual and its the best car i had
My Mom owns a Camry it’s a good car, I don’t have a lot of driving experience but when I feel like I’m ready to start driving Camry will be one of my options.
1990s Camrys are everywhere in Australia too. Amazingly, the compulsory gov fees per year (~$1000) are the same as what the car is worth... And they are still everywhere!
Bought my 2008 Camry with 150,000 miles on the odometer in May last year after my 2013 Focus was t-boned. I don’t regret it for a second. Has an aux port, ice cold AC, a reliable 4 banger, and comfortable seats and ample leg room. Everything a person who cares for function needs to get around.
I’ve been a staunch Honda guy for 25 years!! I despise the new CVT trannys & tiny turbo engines so I just bought my 1st Toyota last week- a Camry SE because my brother had an employee discount. I friggin love it!!
Taxi drivers favorite car! A Camry might not be exciting but they are very reliable well made car which if looked properly will do very high mileage no problem!
Buyer FYI: If you are looking for an 07-09 Camry, go with the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 model, even if you have to pay extra. The 4 cylinders in this time frame had issues with defective piston rings and they burn oil like a MOFO. Toyota did extend the warranty on these things to 10 years/120K for the rebuild, but it is 2019, and regardless of mileage, these cars won't be eligible for that coverage. The V6 is a much better engine; basically the same MPG, way more refined and smooth, and boy is it fast... 0-60 in 5.8 is the norm. Trust me, go V6 and you will never look back!
I know how this guy feels for sure. I used to own a 2004 Toyota Corolla with just over 200,000 kilometres. It was bought in 2006 by my mom gently used. I believe it had less than 10,000 kilometres at that point. We continued to drive across Canada from Halifax to Abbotsford, that is like going from Maine to Seattle, just a little bit longer. We then took it from Western Canada to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas last Summer. We also drove to the ski hills a lot. It also had a manual transmission. We drove for 15 years as a daily driver for commutes on highways in the cold winters and rainy seasons. Other than a 5-10 dollar starter pin that got worn out after 8 years which supposed to be five years (knowing Toyota’s) it never broke down once. It was an amazing timeless car for us. Then very recently some young guy in a black Dodge Ram truck rear ended it and now it was just written off by our car insurance company. :(!!! I was in the process off inheriting the car after 15 years of patiently waiting for its inheritance.
I have a 2011 Venza 3.5 V6 AWD and love it. They say the venza is like the Camry with a V6 engine. Had it for 3 months now. Has 93k miles on it. Very comfortable spacious ride.

I just got a 08 camry today with 120k miles.

I've got a 1998 Toyota Camry.. Don't know if I will ever want to upgrade
So do I. The parts are getting hard to find and its finally giving me problems. I'm so sad to have to replace it so I'm doing as much research as I can to try to get similar quality and life I got out of my '98 baby

How’d you got a 2010 Camry in 2009? You got a time machine?

If a high schooler like me can drive a 2005 Jeep that has no problems then your son should definitely be able to get a few years to a decade out of it. Unless he is abusing it.
Most likely he will. I drive a 1999 Camry Solara V6, which just means it's a 2-door Camry. 135k miles and no signs of drivetrain issues. It'll last him.
I still have a 2003 Toyota Tundra with 240K miles. It’s my daily driver and I commute to San Francisco.
Bah my 99 corolla still run smooth af
Just change the oil and do minimum maintenance once in a while
Walla you'll get a car that will run forever
Just do oil changes and checkups of other fluids and that thing will run until the wheels fall off. Camrys are great.
This was my first car and I still have it, runs like a champ
My Camry is a 2011. The best car I've ever owned!

Nothing like drifting in a FWD Camry lol...………...
Snow + parking brake. Lol
@@Ryno-fp7pm You don't even need the parking brake in certain situations. Most FWD cars can slide a little with hard turns, brake initiation, and dirt/snow.
1st gen Toyota Avalon if you did a weight transfer really hard and let off the gas on turn in you could get it sideways.
It’s fun drifting in my fwd Malibu in the snow in a parking lot. I went into a empt mall parking lot that had a perfect sheet of snow and I practiced driving in snow on it but then went back with friend and drifted in it for fun
Drifting a FWD Celica perhaps? 😄🤷♂️
Ahh the 2az... I remember mine like yesterday. Quart of oil every thousand miles, and Toyota's refusal to correct the issue, even though it was under a TSB and failed all of their tests to qualify for the fix..

This guy has "personality" not common these days.
Yes he has an “old soul” indeed.
Yes, he is a talented actor already. Very inspiring!! Good man.
Yep I found out the hard way with my 2007 LE 2.4 :( it burns SO much oil and i got it used last year so I am SOL with recall/warranty repairs :(
I know how this guy feels for sure.
2007 Toyota Camry 900 bucks garage kept well maintenance 83,000 miles all praise to the most high
