I changed the bushings and pins on the drivers side last weekend. I did it all myself and it took me 5 hours. Hardest part was getting the bushings in the hole.
We do these at my shop and pull the front fenders. Takes longer but less of a headache. When doing it like in the video, the hinges and the doors get scratched.
I just did my son's Fox without any cutting tools on his 86. I had an issue with putting the top bushing on the upper hinge the way the video shows it. So I ended up just setting in the bushing with a big punch and a hammer. Those were my main tools. A jack and jack stand we're also used and a flashlight. 🔦
Great. Now I need to spend $40 for "some sort of cutting tool" to finish installing my $5 part. I tried cutting off the head of the top one by hand and punching it through, but no luck. The stock ones are a bear. Highly advise cutting them in half like they show here.
After watching the whole video I'm wondering why you can't just do one hinge pin replacement at a time..I fail to see the reason the door has to be pulled away from the car.
Yeah when he just pushed the lower bushings in with one finger, I knew someone had waited too long or didn't install the previous replacements correctly. Because the bushings is not supposed to rotate ... The little teeth are there to hold the bushing stationary. if you haver to, just put the bushing in a vise and squish it ever so slightly. and remember to chamfer the edge so it will center itself in the hole again. Also, if you have a engine hoist, you can use it with a strap through the window frame to hold the door up while you work and realign...
When it comes to these cars i have done just about everything on them and doing door hinges is something i detest with a passion and everytime i have done them i have done them with a buddy!! couldn't imagine doing them alone, you deserve a cold beer for sure. My favorite ones to do are on convertibles,on a hardtop you have the door frame to hang on to but on the Verts that damn door is just flopping around, lol, you need to put a lot of masking tape on your door edge next time that way you dont scratch it much.

That usually is the tough part, having an extra set of hands goes a long way when doing that.
Fun
i realize it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released movies online ?
@Alexis Jorge flixportal :D
@Ridge Spencer thanks, signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!

Nice video on how to scratch up your paint job!
Do you know where I can get the over sized bushings? My new lower bushings keep falling out and I still have some wobble on my door😊
Weld the hole up and drill out
LMR is where I got mine
Where is that single vent gauge pod from? I need that.

Ken Mount good point
You will never get the bushing in or out
@@rickyasadoorian7235 I already did it..successfully, but thanks!
@@kenmount294 So you managed to do it without pulling the door off? I’m about to tackle this
@@sav22rem22yeah, hes got a magician learners permit, thats how you do it.
Have y'all replaced the heater core on these 87-93 cars yet?
I plan on shooting one of those in the next couple months.
So if it doesnt have a cotter pin you will have to cut it out ?
That is the easiest way to get it out if it is the stock pin. - Bill

How about coming out with a door pillar patch panel
It must be the viper blue color. Please help me to find out what this color is!
It was custom painted before the owner bought it so we have no clue what the color code is. Sorry.
Thank you!
I tapped the top bushing in just like on here but the pin wont slide out now its hitting the door
Is this only for fox body ? I have an LX.
an LX is a Foxbody.
I've been trying to find a new passenger side door for my 89 coup. Does anyone know where I can get one? Don't tell me to google it cus I've done that
+hardy Mcbride (awbid) No one makes a new door. You will have to find a used door. Try any local junk yards or craigslist.
Hardy McBride ebay ..... or junk yard ......
This thing beat my ass, took me all day for two pins scratched everything up, if you dont have a good rotary tool, forget about it.
