Really nice. Makes you want to own one (I have given up on owning the Flying Scotsman, no room for that and I could not qualify for a loan.) The really amazing thing is some of the ones you have put up are older than I and seem to work a lot better. Thanks for putting the videos up. I am sure not many people know these videos exist. I thought it was hopeless to look for a video of an "Atomic" engine running, but there it was. Cool.
hi haddock i don't have any spares but these engines share the same piston , liner ,bearings and gaskets as the jp 2,3,&4 engines . the injector and valves are also the same cheers bonus
I've never seen a JP1 before but i have had experience with JP2 ,4 and a JP 6 all in fishing boats years ago .Crank starting a JP 6 was a two man job if the air start stopped working. Did you wind the compression valve out?. These are the Engines the indians should have been copying.
Mercmad hi I had the compression changeover valve fully in , and I didn’t de-compress it . I have 9 lister Jp’s , in the manuals it says run them on high compression up to half load , and over half load low compression cheers bruce
Lovely original set you have there. The engine starts and runs really well!
Jarno.
