You're voice is amazing, sounds like something from an older movie, or a voice actor. You should do a cosmetic restoration since you say the mechanical are OK. Or a good coat of paint, bright red to be specific.
The original engine? It likely puked a rod after 40 years of hard work and was tossed long before I got my hands on this tractor. 3 Cyl. Yanmar is a lot smoother IMO :)

Thanks. I don't think I'll restore it - there is no need to since it works beautifully. I am tempted to do a restoration of my GT 19.9 though.

the low idle on that vtwin kind of sounds like a 3cylinder yanmar in a john deere 770. but what happened to the onan?

Are you going to restore it? Its a gorgeous tractor whether you restore it or not, its very nice.
