Everyone is saying "what an amazing little girl" (and she is) but i think the mom deserves some appreciation for actually listening to her daughter.

Trust me the 1st time I saw this I was 61 and still get tears . All my dogs are rescues, I have 14 yr old yorkie, 9 yr old husky shepard cross and a 3 yr old American staffy shepard cross
This is what i call a respectful relationship between mother and child. Adults have no idea how deluded they are for not considering their children's requests, because although they are very little and have little experience in their world, they are way more connected. So i am truly joyful that i get to see such connection between all. Bless them for taking that sweetheart home to bless them with its sweetness and unconditional love

I don't mean this to be rude, but why are you so proud of the little girl? She picked out a dog that she liked at the pound. She's 2 and most children that age could care less how an animal looks or smells as long as it's nice and fun to be around. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, I just keep seeing alot of comments like this and don't understand what's so incredible about a 2 year old picking out a dog at the pound.

What amazing empathy this sweet girl had for the sick puppy. She was able to understand indicia of illness with runny nose and teary eyes, to sickness and wanted to help the animal. Pure empathy, she is already an advanced human being at age 2 for being so kind. You did a great job with your daughter, hope she is still as sweet and that the pittie is thriving.

Uh oh, Now I am beginning to weep. This is the most beautiful story that I ever viewed, it shows all of us that this walking baby came straight from heaven. She knew, automatically that, that dog needed help. Thank You So Much, for this video because I woke up so depressed this morning.

@@johno4521 Big deal, I’m sure the kennel personnel informed the mother concerning mange and I’m sure the dog was already being treated for mange long before the girl came in contact with the dog. Doubtful any live mites were on the dog at that point and just waiting for the dog’s hair to grow back. . Humans can catch sarcoptic mange from dogs, but the mites involved cannot complete their life cycle in human skin. As a result, the issue can cause some skin irritation in humans, but it does not last long.
That child has more compassion than most adults , bless her and those that taught her ...They are a love match ..

This story warms the soul and helps give hope. The mother has raised a wonderfully empathic child, who will be a loving companion to Scarlett and I feel sure that they'll grow up to continue rescuing animals in need of a loving home. Most importantly, innocent Scarlett found someone to give them the love and safe home that they needed.
The parents made a wise decision, this child will be protected as long as this animal breaths air. Plus a great friend.

@@kevincharles113 I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is. I lost my pittie to cancer in 2016 and in 2017 got another rescue pittie, too. Something about a pittie gets my heart single everytime. They are like lil angels. Enjoy your new pup. 💕

Normally I don’t like little kids with animals. They’re usually too rough and I always worry someone is going to get hurt, either the pet or the kid. But this girl and dog so clearly became friends right away. What a great fit.

@@Bill365ill It goes hand-in-hand. I think that this situation is lovely. As I said in my original comment normally I don’t. I don’t let kids ever pet my dog. Because a lot of people just let their kids treat animals like objects and then when the dog has had enough and bites the kid the dog gets put to sleep and if it’s not their dog the owner gets sued it’s just a mess.

I totally agree Funker. Most people dont understand dog behavior so they don't see warning signs and let their kid continuously make a dog uncomfortable until it growls or snaps or something worse. Then the parents say it was out of no where and the dog is bad. No, sorry parents, it's YOUR fault. Not the dogs or the childs
They have a rapport so strong you can see it. Observe how carefully the kid pets the pit bull, it’s uncommon; little kids are usually too rough with dogs
I think she’s an empath. She was immediately drawn to the pain and longing to be loved. Nothing else mattered except saving that doggy who was sad.
That was my thought as well.

Children don't have any preconceived notions like adults do, sometimes they see things we can't.
Children are empathic. They grow out of it unless you continue to teach them empathy. Or they can grow out of it but become empathic once again if something happens to start their empathy. Empathy is epic. I'm told I'm empathic which is why I know this I guess. Also I'm 15 so I don't know if I still count as a child or not

@@shiitakestick I'm from the UK and I'm not sure of the stats but I don't think pit bulls are as aggressive here, I think a lot of pit bulls come from breeders in the US or they may be abused and it becomes a defense mechanism. I'm not sure. No hate to the US at all.

I've owned many pitbull breeds over the years and I know what they're capable of, they're great dogs but anyone who says they're not slightly more prone to aggressive behavior is diluting themselves, I wouldn't say they're worse than other breeds bred for jobs involving aggression... just far more capable of causing serious damage, I treated/trained my dogs well and there was still incidents.
I'm not crying, it's just the side effects of being reminded that there is good still left in the world.

A parent can only create an atmosphere in which a child can grow or not
They are sisters from another momma. They are perfect together. Omg, the baby girl is so pure & compassionate, she knows she's sick and needs help and a home. OMG, d twinning clothes. Scarlett is also gentle even when she was bathing.
I rescued severa pit bull and Staffordshire bull terriers in the past and not one of them gave trouble. The new keepers I found for them always gave glowing reports of their intelligence, affection and loyalty.
Scarlett is a beauty and made more so by this incredible little girl. Long may their association last.
I am amazed at such a young age how she is so aware of the puppy. The dog stops, and she does not pull or tug him alone. They are a team.
I loved in the one clip shes walking next to the dog and pooch stops so instead of leaving the leash in her hand by her side she pulled it up to her chest, like doggo is going to notice the 1 inch of slack she took out XD

When you go to an animal shelter it doesn’t matter sometimes what you’re looking for, you may (and often will) find someone special. That’s how I got my best friend, Monty the cat.
My boyfriend didn't go to a shelter but had the same experience with a cat he got. They went to a person's house with a litter for a totally different cat, and ended up leaving with Athena. Unfortunately she died earlier this year... She got hit by a car because his mother was extremely irresponsible and let her outside.
She wasn't even two years old yet.

This video is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes. The reason the little girl is so sweet, compassionate, understanding, cares for the less fortunate animals is because her mother INSTILLED all these qualities in her. The mother plays a big part in how her daughter is so sweet and loving.

This is how I got my dog, she was sick in the shelter and we picked her out because she was so sweet and kind. when we filled out the paperwork they said “you know she is sick” and I just kept on ignoring them. She is now 1 year old and healthier than ever

My hubby and I a little more then a month ago adopted a beautiful little guy kitten, I just felt compelled to go to the local animal shelter, we had recently had to be our little girl kitten down as we found out she was very sick. It was the best thing ever that we went to the local shelter that day and gave the best little guy ever his furever home.
