That story is sweet on so many levels: the dog seeking refuge, the guy shutting the front door, then becoming friends with the homeowner, and the family giving Suzy a home.
I still love this video to this day. Her owner quite regularly updates her instagram and they are working on a story book. You can tell she is so loved, she has little humans to read storybooks to her and a dog brother, and sometimes gets pancakes for breakfast. She won the family jackpot.
Finding the guy who closed his door was the perfect cherry on top. They were lucky it was him and not someone up to no good. And he gave them a new dog unknowingly. This is just awesome.
This video was posted two years ago. I just checked and Suzy is still living with this beautiful family and their other dog Jorge! I know I'm a sceptic. But I teared up after I checked and got sure. They are all so lucky!!! Bless the family!
I can understand where you are coming from, so many people lie about these stray animal stories just for attention, only to find out, they really didn't keep them. For some reason, you just felt the need to see if this particular story was true, nothing wrong with doing checkups every once in awhile, I'm just happy she's still with the family.

The guy did due diligence by closing their door, and probably checked in the morning if people were going about their normal day or else he would have called proper authorities. Responsible adults know that it’s not normal to be waken up/called/ texted in the middle of the night. So when it does happen it could very well be an emergency. Announcing that the baby is ok first tells us where the priorities are for these parents. Good peeps

I believe that things have a way of working out when you try to do the right thing in life. I'm not rich but I'm surrounded by amazing people. I'm very lucky and very happy with how life has panned out.but I've made a certain amount of my luck

Best dog I ever had was found during a snow storm by my Uncle. It was sitting on a street corner, under a light, in an industrial area. Totally malnurished, bone thin and scared. My Uncle opened the car door, called to it and it ran right in the car. He couldn't bring it home so he showed up at my house and dumped it on my Mother. Literally he ran in, said take it tonight, I'll get it a home tomorrow and ran out a second later. Game over. We kept her and she was the most appreciative and well behaved dog I ever knew. She was a puppy and she lived her best, spoiled rotten life .
Found a beautiful kitten sitting under a garbage dumpster in an NYC winter. Took her home, where she lived for 17 years. The sweetest, kindest kitty I ever had.

Their pets would have also reacted immediately to a stranger at the door and another animal in the house. They act like the dog got in by magic but they left the door open. The guy is not some random stranger but his neighbour/friend clearly in on it. This whole story is BS for views.

Best dog I ever had was found during a snow storm by my Uncle. It was sitting on a street corner, under a light, in an industrial area. Totally malnurished, bone thin and scared. My Uncle opened the car door, called to it and it ran right in the car. He couldn't bring it home so he showed up at my house and dumped it on my Mother. Literally he ran in, said take it tonight, I'll get it a home tomorrow and ran out a second later. Game over. We kept her and she was the most appreciative and well behaved dog I ever knew. She was a puppy and she lived her best, spoiled rotten life .
