Now ive also done this job on the floor with out a vice to hold the arms. i used some blocks of wood to support it i didnt get a chance to show yous. Hope this video helps you out take it easy Byron 👍
G'day Byron 😃👍 i admire your determination & patience to replace individual bushings & to put in the time 👍 But with me being me id rather spend the extra couple of bob (coins ) & buy the complete Control Ams for Left & Right front end with the Bushes already assembled within the Arm , You have more skill & patience than me ☺️ i have a 2004 Vy Calais V6 & im in the process of doing all suspension & im time poor so i buy the complete part replacement in most cases if possible 👍 plus being a 2004 age i just figure its best to get everything new & get another 20 years out of the car for my son when i hand the Calais over to him 😜 i really enjoy your videos Byron & i do learn some handy tips & ways of doing things on cars 😝 Especially the VY Calais or any Commodore ! Cheers from Bundaberg 🕺🍹
Bloody good video. I've learned so much from your methods so I can help my son and I work on his VZ commodore fixits. I have very little mechanical skills and this makes these jobs simple to plan and undertake. Having the right tools and greases is now an issue Cheers, Mark
Hey mate I see your working conditions (being alone). You can get little buzzers with a magnet on them. Just incase of accident when you're alone. Cheers
G'day Byron, new subscriber...great videos mate, you certainly make it easy for us common folk to understand, appreciated. Just interested to know why you chose nolathene control arm bushes but a rubber caster bush (e.g. preference, experience, economics, etc.)? Also is there a difference between the black & red nolathene bushes you used on the control arm? Cheers mate, just trying to understand...
Alex how you going mate Yeah i try to buy a cheap bush kit off ebay and try and replace them on the bench without a press haha i may of stuffed up the in bushes and through how can someone at home do it still with out a press thats why i ended up fitting the pedders kit But i caught up the the bloke yesterday that brought the car and every thing is still mint 👌 When it come to which nolathene bush im not sure mate but i do deal with Pedders suspension so if i do have any dramas i just catch up with them If your not on to much of a budget id buy the complete arms and just swap them over saves time etc Any how mate take it easy Byron 👍
@@downtheshedwithbyron Yeah, the complete arms look like the simple solution. Thanks mate, keep at the vids man, there's plenty of people that need your no-nonsense, get-it-done-right approach. Appreciated...
@@downtheshedwithbyron Sounds like Goss ignition coil and module needs replacing, you can check one by one from the three of them individually or replace the whole module. Also check the the ABS module, it might need replacing. I had a similar problem and ended up changing both and she’s good to go mate!👍
