Looks like they're just cashing in on that Holy Panda name. The switch is made by Gateron but had nothing to do with their "X" line of switches. No Halo stem or panda housing in sight. I think if they gave it a whole new name it wouldn't leave such a bad taste in the mouth, but as it stands it just feels like it's riding the OG Holy Panda's coat tails.

Yup. I'm loving mine. Can't imagine switching ( No pun intended). The feel is 10/10 (sound is like an 7-8/10, but NBD for me).
What lubing technique do you guys use for u4ts? I never lubed tactile switches, and I want to try them out.
@@khaledbloushu3187 I lightly lube like a linear switch and ultralight lubing on the legs (like getting a bit of lube on the tip of my finger and rubbing the legs a bit). Makes the U4T's unbeatable, for me atleast.
some say anubis and neapolitan ice cream are better than u4t?
This was the review I needed! They definitely seem to sound quite different from the Holy Pandas, so it's not exactly the sound I'm looking for to substitute that.

I like this move to start using more aggressive return springs in switches. Should do a lot to eliminate the mushy feeling for those that have always preferred going linear because of it. This probably isn't THE switch but I look forward to seeing more switches taking this direction and the one the Epsilons from the previous vid took.

Just a tip when filming on the side when you type at 6:55, dunt set the camera at Autofocus. Set it as manual focus fixed at the set focal point. Thanks for the video, I am just a newbie learning about custom keyboards.
I think these are a really neat and unique new switch that suffers from the unfortunate side effect of its naming, it's as much a Holy Panda switch as the Mustang Mach E is a Mustang. Both great products with awful names that piggyback off of past successes for visibility.

Honest review. Thanks so much! The comparison with the other switches was very very helpful. If these didn't match the original HP then I won't bother with them, I'll settle with Boba U4T.
May have to fuck with these. Typing on T1 Durock's and they're literally the favorite switch I've ever touched. And I'm a re-tooled Browns fan.
Try taking the t1 housing and putting the og holy panda stem into them. It's like if Zealous and Holy Panda had a baby. You should make a video on that.
I like that they tried to introduce something new but I personally prefer the Boba U4T over all of them.
So this is a HP clone without the same long pole? This is basically a recolored T1 or zealios v2

They lost me at a dollar a switch for what is effectively a gateron tactile. It's 2022. The hype train is over.

One thing to note on the sound test, regardless of switch, depending on the keyboard the keys H & G will sound different - even if you use the same switch. So unless we're getting comparisons from the same key, the sound signature comparison is not entirely accurate.
That price is pretty high imo especially when there’s switches like kinetic labs Salmon switches. Great video though! Always enjoy your content BT

Which is better original panda of these..ive never used any of em bever used a tactile either. Always used linear. Im using telious v2 right now love em. I wany a good thoc so which switch is best for that

So holy panda vs these which is better I just want a good switch with good thock I like the thock sound. What I have now is good I have kbd fans mk3 laser pvd version its awesome with telious v2 lubed linears but they sound great nice thock. I've never used a tactile but I might wanna try

Am i mistaken or do the HPx sound a little sqieky. Love the OG ones but this ones are not for me. They are fine but the OG´s are just so much better sounding.

The HPX's sound profile does not even have that signature long pole clack we are all accustomed to, to holy pandas. It's actually pretty underwhelming. It's great that they are improving on the essential characteristics of the holy panda, just wished that they kept that signature long pole which was definitely part of the frankenswitch's identity.
If they truly wanted to make a true successor, they would have colored it similar. It just looks like a Tactile Gateron X with ink top housing at this point.

Have you tried the aflion pandas? I had been meaning to ask on one of your videos since you had tried out their iceberg switches. Saw those aflion pandas and have been hearing good things about all of their most recent linear switches; so I am interested in learning more about the aflion pandas. Would love to hear your thoughts on them :)
@@NugenEnigma I havent tried them! but i discussed with Jeff from Upgrade keyboards, he says they are amazing value - feel the same if not better than normal pandas if you spring swap to a slow spring. I'd join their discord and talk to him about them if you have any questions! There were others who replied to my questions saying only good things about them. But yeah the slow springs would be to add tactility. I'm thinking of grabbing them to do a review but i'd want to compare them to the original holy pandas.
