That turned out looking great, especially with the weathering. I'm holding out hope someone will release a 1/32 scale x-wing to go with the 1/32 tie fighters that have been released.
Nice work Jason. You really transformed that old model , on a nice thing . I had this model in 1980 , but , being a kid , didnt had the skill to do a good job , and the model was lost , Today I would look at this model as a nice challenge , with a lot of new skills , and online help; :P
Great video, Jason. The only thing that I don`t like about this kit is that Round2 should've put more effort into adding more details, especially the fact that the pilot of the X-Wing is molded in the cockpit. Not like the 1/72 scale Bandai version has more details compared to the MPC. To me, Round2 is treating the model like it's cutting corners. Other than that, great work on the model.
I think it was a calculated decision, like the 537 refit. They know the kits aren't great BUT there's a huge amount of nostalgia for them, even with the defects...also it was a way to get star wars models out without having any new tool developed yet. Now, if they don't update the 1/43 x-wing tool (or even develop a new one), then you kinda know they don't really care.
Back in the late 70s I built the Estes model rocket version of this. 1 flight and never saw it again. I was so bummed about that. It took me 2 weeks to make it as screen accurate as possible. by the way it was the D engine variant. for somebody like myself that has Parkinsons would this be a good model or would you recommend something in a larger scale?
That's why I never got into rocketry. The risk of it flying away to parts unknown was too great for me! Without know the progression of your Parkinsons and mobility/fine motor skills it's hard to accurately answer. However, I'd say larger just because it's more forgiving and easier to make spot repairs if you end up with paint or weathering you're not happy with? Revell made a 1/29 scale one, I just ordered one from a guy on Ebay
Perfectly done. Awesome weathering. This brings the ship to life. The decals to apply would be a pain in the ass for me. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I wanted to show the simplest/easiest weathering can achieve decent results.

There is a 1/29 X Wing from Revell. I just found one on Ebay. I also picked up a 1/48 Fine Molds.
What Flesh tone did you use for the Pilot
The Pilot is from MPC space plastic Army men Toy line
@@georgemartinez1720 None, I just painted the face mask clear yellow
Love this. I took the same journey with the same kit last spring and after weathering and details it turned out fantastic.
If your expectations are reasonable this can make a very nice little shelf model.
That turned out great, Jason! You did a ton better than I did back when I built mine (to be fair, I knew nothing then, but still). Nice work!
If I never did a Vulcan Shuttle, that I weathered, I'd never have had the skill/confidence to tackle this.
Love your genuine content. All the best for the new year! 🎉
Thank you so much (for watching AND commenting)

I didn't expect it turn out as well as it did. But going into it with lowered expectation may have made it a better build?
Very nice work Jason.
Thanks KCon! It's not ideal but it builds up well enough for a little shelf model.
😎👍Very cool and very nicely greatly well done on a job very wonderfully and fabulously beautifully well done indeed Sir!👌.
Thanks for checking out the vid. It turned out WAY better than I expected.
really turned out nice...you'd never know it's such an old mold of this ship...
No warpage, the flash wasn't excessive. I was pleasantly surprised.

@@JasonsSpaceDock LATE STAGE 2. I have trouble sometimes even using my computer mouse.
Nice video, but.... This is the worse X-Wing Model Kit ever made.
You're not wrong. That'ss why I opted to focus on steps to make it look as good as possible. And it looks great on a shelf lol!
