Artifacts have 5 layers of RNG:
1- Being on the set you want
2- Being the piece you want
3- Having a good main stat
    4- Having good sub stats
5- Praying it upgrades your good substats instead of dumping everything into def
You can only farm 8 per day, repeat 40 times for all your characters.

    • @Aerith-77x
      @Aerith-77x ปีที่แล้ว +195

6- You have to hope for high rolls on those substats. 4 bad low rolls are worth as much as 3 good high rolls.
      2.7% Crit Rate X 4 = 10.8% Crit Rate
      3.9% Crit Rate X 3 = 11.7% Crit Rate

I'm so glad you called out the community about doing things "out of order". It's honestly infuriating at this point because I watch so many new players and the chat ends up confusing them more than the game itself. It's understandable since people who have a positive experience naturally have trouble understanding people can have the same positive experience using a different method, but it still frustrates me to no end seeing all the pointless confusion pushed on new players

    • @newbie4789
      @newbie4789 ปีที่แล้ว +16

I think it's mainly because many people are playing this game for a long time and each update is adding new content that has some follow ups of old content. And it does result in some minor Easter eggs or story bits being fed in the wrong order. Like, the world quest in Liyue foreshadowing the existence of Azhdaha is quite pointless after you did the Zhongli story quest 2.
But even though people's reactions make sense, it still doesn't make it acceptable behaviour

Many members of the community are well meaning in the help and "help" they try to provide, but way too many of them also manage to come off as try-hards that couldn't hack it in any other game.
The game is pretty mid, but honestly, the community turned me off of it worse than hitting that point where another newly released character I knew I would bench just didn't do it for me anymore. Any morsel of "wrong" advice to a newbie or criticism towards the game had a legion of insufferable white knights descend on me like they'd actually get to bang Yae Miko if I conceded to their genius.

Maybe this makes me a "fake fan" or whatever in the eyes of these types of players, but I skipped through a lot of dialogue for all the regions until Sumeru and didn't really care about reading the lore stuff like Book of Sun and Moon, cos I'm just not interested in doing that. I play Genshin cos I like the combat system, environments, art direction and music. Everyone has different things they prioritize in the experience, I can only imagine how annoying it must be to have people backseating you about enjoying the game "wrong" lol
Also I'm kinda surprised his problem with artifacts was backseating twitch chatters instead of the insane RNG tied to the system lol. Him beating floor 12 with a scuffed team and unlevelled artis is insane to me lol

    • @boyishdude1234
      @boyishdude1234 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@bobjones2959 I would say that you're a fake fan, yes. The game definitely has its fair share of problems (it's objectively mid), but the story is a core part of the experience, as the developers put a lot of time and effort into the story and they want players to experience it (the story is the main part of the game, including the world quests). If you're not playing the game for the story, and you're not playing the game for the exploration either (which is the second major part of the experience), then you obviously don't like the core experience of the game, which means that you aren't actually a fan of it. Saying that you're a fan of Genshin Impact when you're not even there for the what the game primarily offers its customers is like saying that someone is a Final Fantasy fan when they're only there for the story and don't care about or even actively despise the gameplay, or like saying that a KH2 fan is a fan of Action RPGs when they think stat management and buildcraft in those types of games, especially at Level 1, is inherently unenjoyable.
By definition, being a fan of something means that you enjoy the core of what a given piece of art/media offers. You can certainly enjoy the combat system, environments, art direction and music, that's perfectly fine, but if you're only playing the game for those parts and aren't playing it for the story, characters and exploration, you're not a fan of Genshin Impact, you just have a few broad preferences that the game scratches the itch of just enough to make you want to play it, even though you otherwise dislike the game. To be a Genshin Impact fan, you have to be there for _Genshin Impact,_ not for yourself.

Someone probably said that already, but Yoimya's part in Archon Quest IS her Story Quest, but for some reason it had to be pushed inside the Archon Quest. Same with Ayaka's. If you do the intoductory quest an then explore an some world queats an then do more main story, inuzami makes alot of sense.
Matter of fact the game itself is hinting at us in various ways that this is what is recommended, play wise.
Weather it be through main story quest mentioning the island being split so you sould be careful if you visit there or the different world quests requrring you to do 3 different things to fix a island, repeadlty, on various islands, 2.0 litterly lanuching with 3 islands, hint hint, or how the uograde system for the statues works in relation to the traveler an his skills for that regions element an how he, or she, always has to do some sort of big story bssed fight as the traveler.
The games always incouraged this type of overall mix of story/exploration/story/exploration/story since the beginning of the game.
The only really big change is interlude in this regard. Well that an a few smaller things. Not inportant though.
An all interlude really dors is present a smaller scale of the overall games story an exploration suggested playstyle.
Me personally i spend way to much time just expkoring lol 😅 an not enough of the storys i could do lol 😂
I need more time in the day lol 😅😅

@@Splatz007 Yep you're right. But playing it as a new player now it's not obvious - the Chasm Archon Quest is locked behind starting the world quest, but there's nothing in the game telling you to go explore Tsurumi after Raiden's two quests, or to go down into Enkanomiya after Tsurumi.
The game has a specific pacing with content releases, but once released the game isn't interested in handholding you... Genshin could really use a sort of in-game quest roadmap.
Inazuma's lore and worldbuilding really is beautiful. Raiden's story has nothing on Ruu and Kazari, and I'm still attached to Neko, Enjo and Aberaku... I'm glad they figured out a more accessible way to present it for Sumeru though.

Besides, I think Fav Sword fits his aesthetic and sword style better. 😁
Also, Sac Sword is a Gacha Sword, not a Crafted Sword.
Also, also, I find Bennet a bit overrated in the community. I don't use him unless I have to. And by that, I mean if I have to have a Pyro Healer as he is, quite literally, the only Pyro Healer in the game right now. Most of the time I run into that situation is in Co-Op and I'm forced to play Healer. It's actually kinda funny. Of all the Healers in the game, Bennett is the one I like to play the least. Ok maybe Dori is the least, but to be fair I haven't really played her. Her kit just doesn't appeal to me. I didn't even get her off her banner, lol. I just got her randomly because 4-Star. But yeah, I don't like the fact that Bennett's healing stops once you crest 70% HP and I don't find his ATK Buff all that useful because I find I do more than enough damage without it. And I don't really play Spiral Abyss so it's not like I'm really needing near Damage Showcase numbers. Even then, I'm fairly certain you don't ever need Bennett to 36 Star the Spiral Abyss. I'm thankful to him for having made that really amazing and thorough 50 minute Genshin first impressions/review video that turned lots of heads and got lots more people to give the game a chance. But when it comes to Necrit himself, it truly feels like he has absolutely no respect for the storytelling and lore of this game.
It's such a gratifying experience to watch someone who has misinformed/negative preconceived notions about the game have all of those thoughts crumble before them as they play Genshin and realize they are genuinely enjoying their time playing and thoroughly immersing themselves in the rich and beautiful world, lore, music, and just sheer artistry of the game. And the first few streams when he was brand new actually genuinely were like this! But Necrit's more recent story streams hardly provide that experience anymore for the Genshin audience he cultivated that tripled his viewership from his TFT days. From his constant bickering and talking over dialogue to make flippant and dismissive predictions of what’s going to happen instead of just... listening to the story, to his frequent misinterpretation and confusion about the most basic of lore and story plots that have been presented to him in the main story (not even hidden or deep lore that he has to go out of his way to find, actual main story stuff that is directly stated). It's quite an exhausting experience.
It feels like there's only been two times he's ever actually been invested/paying attention to the story, once during the end of the Inazuma archon quest, and once during the beginning of the Sumeru archon quest. Almost every other time during story quests, world quests, or other lore heavy moments, it's like he's not paying attention at all. As a result he constantly misses key points in the dialogue that were said a sentence or two ago, or seems to “forget” things he literally just heard. He also for some reason refuses to learn how certain names in the game are pronounced? It’s one thing to come up with cute or endearing nicknames for characters, but it feels different when it seems like willful ignorance or outright refusal to learn, even when it’s read aloud in dialogue. It’s genuinely hard to tell sometimes if he actually even knows the names of important characters and just says them wrong as a joke, or if he just sees a foreign name and instantly dubs it the first thing that comes to mind without even trying, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since he is dyslexic. Feels like that’s all the more reason for him to take the time to make sure he understands things thoroughly though, because all that does is further distance himself from the lore and increase his detachment from everything. And don't even get me started on his insistence to "break" the game by glitching out of domains or climbing through invisible walls with geo traveler. Look, I get it, he's a game developer too so he wants to see how they coded or modeled the walls by seeing if he can glitch out. And because he feels like he "can" break the game, he "has to". It truly just feels disrespectful, not even towards the developers but to the viewing audience, who have to sit there and watch him try time and time again to break the game in unintended ways instead of experiencing the story normally. Well, I guess they don't have to, they can just stop watching if they don't like it, but that's not really an ideal situation for him or the viewers really.
I personally want to watch Necrit having a good experience playing Genshin, which he claims he is, and that's great! I'm glad he's having fun and enjoying one of my favorite games as well in his own way. But my God is it frustrating for actual lore enthusiasts and story enjoyers who expected the self-proclaimed "Lorewalker" to give this game's lore a little bit more of a fair shake. When his streams are titled with variations of “exploring lore”, it kind of gives off the impression of “lore guy does Genshin”, but it doesn’t feel as though Necrit brings a critical lore eye to the game at all. And he doesn’t have to, of course, it’s just misleading and frustrating as a viewer. That's why I was honestly floored by one of Zepla's past videos where she talked about how amazed she was by Sumeru's writing quality and her subsequent Genshin streams. She displayed such an incredible grasp and understanding of not just the lore and story but its symbolism and allegory that I expected Necrit to have, but he just simply doesn't. Frankly, his lore knowledge is absolutely dismal for someone who has played 700 hours and "beat" the game. At first, Necrit's streams had me convinced that not reading the lore books and digging deep to see how much care and detail is put into pretty much everything was a huge detriment to understanding and appreciating the story fully, because he was constantly missing key details, having things go over his head, and assuming things that weren't there or simply false. And then Zepla taught me that you can truly understand and appreciate a large chunk of the story effectively without doing any of that, you literally just need to pay attention and not be so dismissive. You could truly tell how much investment she had in everything from the way she was internalizing every detail and connecting it all together to see the big picture. A little bit of suspension of disbelief goes a long way, but it also helps when you get emotionally invested in the characters and story itself as much as she has, which can really only be done if you're actually paying attention.
I know I'm not the only one who feels this way too, as I've seen lots of other people vent their frustrations about Necrit's approach to Genshin in both his and Zepla's discords and even reddit. I don't expect him to become a super Genshin deep lore streamer/youtuber like the likes of Ashikai, IslandXD, Chill With Aster, KlemenTime, etc. That was never his intention in the first place and that's fine, he’s just here for the memes and to see what the game’s all about. To him it's just a casual fun game to spend some time on. I just wish that as someone who knows how good lore from games like League can get, he'd come at Genshin with that same energy, especially since (imo) Genshin's lore and worldbuilding goes waaay harder, and I truly feel like if he genuinely dug into it, he would enjoy the heck out of it. All I can hope for is that he gains a more invested and respectful approach to the game’s lore and story for more enjoyable story content streams in the future.

Yeah honestly I agree with this.
It feels weird to me, because I heard of him through a friend who watches his videos and thought that I would enjoy his Genshin streams since he's known as a pretty big lore youtuber in the LoL community. And I was definetely not dissapointed because I found his reactions and the videos he's made on the game so far to be really interesting!
But I also feel like he hasn't even scratched the surface of Genshin Lore. I mean, for example, Zepla read "Before Sun & Moon" in a stream, and seeing her reaction was so interesting because she immediately started making theories and such. She made an comment about how "is the Sun and Moon fake?" And then when she finished the Sumeru Archon Quest and Dottore mentioned the "Sky is fake" ordeal she was immediately super surprised and trying to connect everything together, which was very entertaining to watch.
Granted, Genshin lore is very very complicated, and it's difficult to get into because of the way it's presented, and I'm not talking about things such as artifact lore and such, but even side quests make it different to understand. For example in the "Dirge of Bilqis" world quest they mention the name "Nabu Malikata" a lot. Lore players might be able to figure out from the description of this person/goddess that it's the Goddess of Flowers. But like, players that don't really pay attention too much will get very confused to who this might be.
But still, I feel like although the dialogue can be drawn out or some parts very difficult to understand, he really has grasped so little of the lore. I don't even think he has done stuff with Albedo's quest, or if he even knows who Rhinedottir and such is. Hell, I'll be surprised if he manages to figure out if that "Golden Nara" = our sibling, or that the hidden door you find in the undeground while doing the Pari quest is the door to Khaenri'ah.

Even tho he is very nice to genshin in videos, from streams it just felt disrespectful from his part again and again, from the refusal to understand what ppl in chat were trying to help him with, to the lack of direction he had without a reliable friend to guide him during the story and side quests. He got overwhelmed and refused to slow down a little bit, and seems like he got burned out by the AQ. He could take his time since primos are not more important than his enjoyement of the game!

Once you notice that characters can't seem to say the words "kill", "die", "murder" etc. in the earlier chapters of Genshin you can already see it has a more "family friendly" tone to it. Even though I prefer more complex and darker themes, this tone didn't ruin my enjoyment of the game at all. Paimon is what pushes this over the edge for me and makes me feel like I'm playing an episode of Dora the Explorer. To sum up why Paimon genuinely ruins Genshin's story for me. She has redeeming qualities such as caring about the Traveller, stands up for what is right and she sometimes works well as a comedic relief, but she has these qualities in such extremes they are also annoying character traits.
    1. She is OBSESSED with the Traveller, to the point where she hates if the Traveller wants to be away from her even for a short amount of time like with Xiao.
    2. She likes to stand up for what is right, but has no sense of timing. There are multiple instances of her jumping the gun and making things more difficult because she is too eager to jump into evil-busting, and she NEVER learns.
    3. Her comedic relief isn't always effective and instead spoils the tone of Genshin's more serious and solemn moments. Honkai: Star Rail showed to me the impact that Hoyoverse's more serious scenes can have. After witnessing the quest about the man who lost his family and basically worked himself to death to provide supplies to Natasha's clinic, it made me wonder how much less impactful it would be if Paimon popped out at the end and went "Oh no! Is he gone?! Now I'm all sad...".

Personally, I've like Hu tao's playstyle since I enjoy canceling animations (yes she's C0), same goes for League where I'm a Talon main because the swift animations feel good to use. Artifact wise don't let people bother you to much, most of the time players focus way to much on crit value when 4 rolls of atk% and 2-3 rolls of crit is still a really damn good piece. The same goes for er rolls, em rolls, etc.

[Given the topic, story spoilers may be assumed to follow.]
I feel Inazuma's weaknesses are more apparent in retrospect, now that players can play through in one go rather than wait for the updates (and streamers are usually in a hurry on camera and want big chunks of story progress), and that some of them weren't apparent to the designers either until this point due to it's being hard to tell ahead of time what would make it in. For example, allied NPCs would have been very useful for a civil war - but they just weren't available yet although it looks like that's the reason why we have a few in Sumeru despite there being no great reason to push for that engine feature at that point - some of the work was already done.
The basic issue was the contradictory needs of pacing, which the writing did take a stab at and which I feel does succeed at fitting together even though this makes it subvert player anticipations. Once reaching Inazuma there's a driving need to slow the plot down: there's a land as steeped in history as Liyue and with less land mass to explore and a lot of people to meet. However, there's a civil war going on, which seems to indicate a need to speed the plot up. The immediate way to reconcile this is to make it clear the protagonist doesn't care about the local plotline. While this does make sense, not everybody has spent the time going through their character pages and has realized they really do have personalities (differing, even) and their own goals and desires... and honestly, even for somebody who had it was still a touch jarring. Making it viscerally clear the Land of Lightning does not appreciate being just casually traversed also either helps or instead annoys people who have plans to Finish this Quest Now and aren't going to adjust them.
The less immediate fix was to keep most of the civil war pretty off-camera, which if you're focused entirely on that single plotline will make it feel like it goes by far too quickly. This ties in to the final reconciliation of these needs, which was to ensure that even in-game the civil war was being carefully paced out by a third party. In terms of everything fitting together in the long run, this makes perfect sense: future events made it clear the Fatui have a long history influencing Inazuma, even if most of that influence doesn't seem to have been with the specific goal of setting this up. And in retrospect, it makes total sense that until the Fatui are through there - which coincides neatly with your entrance into the arena - nobody is going to be winning. And it also makes sense that as this is a war where the people in charge of both sides want to keep everybody alive more than they want to push through a quick victory (and they've got better battlefield medicine than the real world), there's a semblance of peacetime on Narukami Island. The people have enough other things to worry about that it's mostly the family members of soldiers who pay attention to the war. And it's not like the main character doesn't get to resolve the real issues even if for a change the populace doesn't notice this. It's not a bad plotline - but it's nowhere near what people expected going in, probably by design although it's hard to tell from the outside what just didn't make it in the development time.
I'm more content with Kokomi's presentation although I feel there isn't quite enough tell. The basic concept behind her is very clearly one we've seen tried later in Honkai Star Rail: that actual strategic competence is displayed not in a brilliant and unexpected maneuver but in the total lack of need for any such. She's also a change from most of the smart people in the game in that she's entirely open with you about what she knows and is doing. (Nahida's kind of a callback to this in that while she still doesn't always share, she's theoretically keeping tabs on you and would certainly share if you actually needed the information and were messing with something that was definitely your business.) And this isn't a bad idea concept if it does mean somebody has to get lucky for interesting things to happen where Kokomi's involved. The one bit of "tell" I think we really did need at the start was any hint of her long-term goals - or lack of them beyond playing the role the people wanted her to - because it's the only way to put what we do see of her strategy in context.

The thing is, because of the RNG, you wanna have as many good substats as possible in the event that some rolls miss the one you want. Then it's at least usable. I think you'll eventually become like this as well if you keep playing the game or Star Rail. Still, while in the beginning there might be a lot of frustration, as time goes on, you'll become kinda numb to how shit the RNG is. At the end of the day, it is what it is. If you're having fun playing the way you want, then that's how you should play it! It feels like people get caught up in some of the only content that's rapidly made by Genshin content creators, which is optimizing builds and meta teams each patch and tier lists. It feels like people take that content and think, "That's just the correct way to play the game!" Then there's creators like Cwack on Crack who just make funny videos with very, very off meta builds and just has fun with making funny numbers from funny ideas, then again, they do seem to be a whale and can get away with it, but it's still fun to watch.

People always argue with each other about how much time you should spend on grinding these items and took literal months to get me "perfect" artifacts that people wouldn't call mid, but it is really just fine if you got something just OK.
for perspective I've been playing for 2 years now and started playing since release, I've seen every issue there is to offer and took a lot of breaks during the way because the game just isn't fun for too long. I’ve noticed that may people have similar issues regarding characters that appeared in a event once and you probably already know this, having 700h into the game but i'm gonna say it anyway. At the end of each update there's a "satisfaction" poll and people can send their concerns and issues to hoyoverse themselves. What I always do is ask them to at very least bring the dialogs from story events into the log so that you can have a little more context of who characters are, and I strongly advise you do so too. If enough people voice their concern hoyoverse might actually do something about it.

Keqing's C2 was just flat out bugged and didn't work. It was patched in December of last year. *That was in since launch too.*
Another daily commission, Geo Travel Diary, if you choose three of the options separately, two of them get deleted from your inventory. That's a bug, and *it's been in the game since launch, and has yet to he patched.*
Mona's C1, half of it doesn't work. The Freeze duration isn't extended at all. It's also bugged and *has yet to be patched.*
Xinyan, the four star shielder? It's supposed to stack based on how many enemies you hit, but instead is bugged to be every OTHER enemy you hit. **That's been in since 1.1 and has yet to be fixed.**
That's just five off the top of my head that I've encountered, and that's not even mentioning stuff that has workarounds but really shouldn't exist like the quest to turn off the rain in Inazuma being bugged so that you have to restart the game sometimes for it to actually work and progress.

Just a friendly tip. Hu Tao's DPS without cancels (as in full normal attack combo) is on par with Diluc (for Vaporize teams that is, Diluc Melt is a different discussion).
Hu Tao's DPS is optimal with cancels and it's mechanical reliance really helps boost performance if you dont have the best artifacts, but it doesnt mean you cant take a different approach on her combos. When I didnt have her first constellation (C1) I gravitated to doing 3-4 normal attacks + uncanceled charge attack and it was enough to fully star floor 12 (I also didnt have 4 piece crimson witch set artifacts and Yelan wasnt released back then). It certainly helped lower the amount of erratic positioning and mechanical difficulty of playing her.
Not saying you should play her again immediately, but if you ever do revisit her, then you might enjoy her more with a different approach.

Artifacts and more powerful things don’t get you more stars in Spiral abyss. Sure it helps but still to reach the time limit you have to play *way* better. Better understanding of buff set ups, learning enemy patterns, and team rotations. Even with amazing artifacts and stats, some people still cant even get all stars with meta characters because they just suck. Speaking from a person that got 9 stars every floor for very long. People usually don’t care if you don’t beat the abyss without perfect stars. Getting all stars is the real challenge the community sees. And trust me trying to get stars in the abyss is not as easy as just beating it with no stars.

    • @Melotaku
      @Melotaku ปีที่แล้ว

You’re not entirely wrong but you aren’t right either.
The skills needed to do what Necrit did vs getting all stars are different.
To get all stars you need to be good at rotations and buff setups and team building etc. but to finish abyss with crap artifacts and non-meta teams, you need to be good at dodging, knowing when to attack the enemy and when to back off etc.
In my opinion, the latter is more of an engaging and fun challenge. While the former is just a dps check. Those just aren’t fun for me. For many meta teams you don’t even need to worry about dodging because either you have an OP shield, a freeze team, a team that staggers the enemies so much that they can’t attack, or you just have C6 R5 everyone and tank the damage because everything dies so fast.

great video and it kind of takes me back to when i started genshin a year ago. The problem is (and probably why u saw so much backseating with the highest degree on snob) in your chat was that the difference of DPS between 33 stars in abyss and 36 stars is the same amount of time sink (if not more if u are truly unlucky) as completing spiral abyss in general. Since its the only form of endgame content genshin has, the standards for artifacts and characters and weapons are really unneccasserily high because people want to avoid the quadruple gatcha balancing that is Artifacts, Character and weapon summoning AND the fickle mistress that is Fortuna who always makes me miss my Crits whenever i do a burst (80% chance my ass).
in the end, yeah its easy to have fun in genshin but the fomo for characters and weapons is what pushes people into minmaxing for abyss, to get all the primos u can as a F2P, to not get caught in FOMO.
Atleast it´s what i noticed in around one and a half year of playing this game. Hope u keep enjoying it and sharing ur opinion on it tho :D

Nice video! I think the main reason why they try so hard to explain everything in the story and then summarize it with Paimon, is because Genshin is very, very casual-oriented. I followed a bunch of anime communities in the past, and it was impressive how often people could miss some obvious points that were made even by well-written shows. I assume that it's a safer decision for the devs to get a wall of complaints like "they explain too much" than a wall of "they don't explain enough" (even if they actually explain well).
Of course, this is just my personal view, but it's clear that the game aims to capture as wide of an audience as possible, so it has to play safe wherever possible.

Star Rail so far has done this without a Paimon-like character, and it's been good. People are loving its story. For example, I pulled for Kaveh and Baizhu, and I got them, but now I feel like I'm not allowed to play them until theyre giga maxed because everything has so much HP and so much damage.
It really is a minor problem, but as someone who just wants to see cool characters doing their thing, knowing there is not a single place I can safely play some of my characters is a bit sad.
That being said, there are just a few minor things that may get fixed down the line, or will be fixed in some other ways.
#1: Albedo isn't a standard banner 5 Star. (WE NEED GEO 5 STARS ON STANDARD PLEASE!)
#2: All characters must be "nice". (So far Wanderer is the only non friendly character we have that is playable, but even still they went out of their way to sort of yassify him without doing much of the actual building back of trust.)
#3: Physical and Geo just suck right now. (Most enemies have resistance to these two damage types, but atleast you can fight Eremites. Also Shatter sucks. Geo desperately needs new reactions instead of "get a shield" since you aren't playing Geo for the crystalize.)
#4: Ningguang got shafted so hard why is every Geo character Defense scaling leaving Ningguang with no good supports or carry potential compared to even Noelle. 😭

you deserve a medal to at least prove you even had to spent 700 hours to show the game flaws that most of us veteran player already know but still not fixed or only made it worse with their " bug fix". good thing there are issue fixed but too bad you can count by finger in every 4-5 patchs.
it's really funny how your chat just try to backseat you despide the game don't have to follow the "correct" order because in the game story and world building premise mostly don't have direct proper order and Teyvat probaly under a simulation rather and we still don't know how Teyvat really looks like. it seems it is true that the lore side of Genshin is rather too fanatical and rabid compare to metaslave where the toxic part of meta slave mostly comes from Hu Tao mains and the "specia" 4 star user mains side of the community and man I've seen the horrible stuff these part of the toxic player act and even attack other game playerbase. one of the few rare occasion I see veen for some reason many player even Genshin youtuber had to get backseat was the first GAA event before Inazuma Mural puzzle, the hint of the puzzles was so clear to notice and understand but apparently the mural picture is too hard to solve... like WHAT?!
I have to disagree that to 3-9* floor 12 spiral abyss mostly just affected by the artifacts, your character talent lv, ascendtion and weapon is also really matter but from your perspective I really understand why you state it because man the rng is pretty much the worse, I remember it took me almost a month way back when Eula first -beta- banner in 1.5 for decent Pale flame set and one of the set is still not that great, there is many that is more unlucky than me and it took them 6 months for their target character.I already gave up bother it unless there is a new mechanic where we can at least change one of the substat and the mainstat till we get what we want or maybe limitbreak enchancement mechanic.
I'm a veteran player 2nd day from their first launch, non-paid and what you said you can clear the game without spend real money is true however the time you have to sacrifice is immense and it could even took more than 700 hours, the 700 hours experience you spent is just the beginning but since you clear floor 12 and at least have 6 or 9 star from floor 9-11, you prove yourself have knowledge investmen in the game and that is also matter when it comes to get 3-9 star in floor 12. so in general your frist to 3 month play the game are mostly exploring, get some beginner artifact and just don't use some 4 star artifact like exile, instructor and beserker as fodder, lock those that have decent substats future young padawans. 3rd to 6th months for strenghtening your charactrer depends on your pace, then road played the game for a year where you pretty much hit the spot and road to endless insanity of 5* artifacts rng fest. this game is not that hard but it is so grindy and slow even whales will suffer the same issue only not that long unlike non-spender that need to have a patience of a sage.
I don't want to make it too long post and I recommend you watch 'just some fat boi video' about how their world quest reward can be...really disapointing and how the game is more of being made by Tech Company than actual Game company which is true, even for a 2021 the video is still relevant with how this game are developing really really slow. If people expect any future Mihoyo game to be better in a span of 2 years, just give up and don't bother you already see how much Genshin develop in just 2 years and there is not much improve at all, side quest slowly become bunch of unnecessary texts and for 2 year+ the only new permanent content is not even an endgame content but just more boring and time consuming TCG permanent content that alot of player forgot it even exist plus lately they even try to make a limited event for it and you can even see the sheer desperation the dev want to see player bother with the minigame which too bad only last for one or two weeks then down the mariana trench again lmao.
I don't even want to fully detail mention how toxic this game community is and how if you know more of the game the community rather punish you just like what happen to Jinx Turner and I can already see that in the comment section pretend the wenut SA as "far" and those who basicaly said "it will get better in version x.x" that can be it's own topic because there something disturbing with these cult, the parasocial and even rather mad over a red defeat colour in TCG because it's "too" negative for them ignoring that at least they can experience how luck still matter even in the most "anti-rng" deck setup.
oh I forgot to mention the game have so muich potential and visualy and art wise they are pretty good but well what you get for 2 years? the answer is up to you.

You gave The Catch as an example of "people being wrong when trying to backseat," but it was a bad example. It DOES take at least 2 weeks to get The Catch, assuming you're starting from 0 fish. I feel like beating Spiral Abyss comes down to perspective. Because although it's great you beat it with your teams. Getting all 3 stars is primarily what people go for because that's the bar the game has set and that's what gets you the full amount of primogems. To me personally, that's what beating the 12th floor is (not to take away from your own victory of beating it in general). It's a huge DPS check that artifacts alone can't be enough to carry you if you're going for 3 stars. There are a few factors, like knowing the enemies you'll face, their weaknesses and the comps to build against them. Or just having an absolutely whaled account.

I stopped playing Childe Xiangling Suckrose Xingqiu. In order to 36* comfortably (without having to play floor 1 perfectly or reset for 5 hours+)

  • @neerajmangalanandan4168
    @neerajmangalanandan4168 ปีที่แล้ว +2

A 3* clear is 3 minutes. A 0* clear with almost the full 9 minutes utilized is ~3x the time. Which means your dps output is just above 1/3rd of what is needed for a full clear.
The artifacts on diluc were perfectly fine. Not all pieces were loaded with CR CD, but you had plenty of atk% and many good EM rolls on several pieces. Farming crimson witch for another year is going to give you a diluc with maybe 10% more damage with hyper optimal subs. Your twitch chat needs to cool it with the mid accusations (though thats more a result of the nature of a fast scrolling twitch chat desparate for attention id say)
Artifact substats arent some sort of infinite trove of treasures from which damage just flows out endlessly the more you farm. Across 5 pieces you get 40-45 substats in total. And no more. The limit of reaching a perfect 45 substats gets harder with every little bit of progress you make. The whole experience is best described as asymptotic progression.
The point I want to make is that your statement at the end of "the gap from 0*s to 3* all comes down to getting better luck on artifacts" is blatantly untrue. A hypothetical run where your same teams had all perfect +20 artifacts wouldve maybe gotten you a clear with 30s remaining on the clock. The other 5 1/2 minute gap comes from a lack of understanding of the more detailed mechanics of the game, which leads to an inability to build teams that synergize with each other properly, both wrt reactions and rotation matching. Compounded with the resource crunch of needing to spread resources over 8 units to build, on top of that the wenut and later abyss cycles being an absolute pain in the ass to clear fast cause of stalling mechanics.
The good news is, almost none of that is your fault. I mention detailed mechanics, but the game puts in 0 effort into explaining what they are. Theyre content with saying "try putting hydro and pyro for big damage" and letting you figure the rest out. Which is good for hoyo cause you know, lack of knowledge means players are inclined to use money to make up the difference. You need to seek it out yourself, fortunately they are easy enough to find detailed guides on. Specifically about rotations, application ICDs and gauge theory. As a practical example of gauge theory at work, look at the wenut footage in this video. Look at the aura on the wenuts health bar as you attack it with a yelan ult + diluc on field. Observe how the aura always stays only pyro. Now redo the same chamber with yelan and xingqiu swapped between those teams. You'll find that diluc is able to consistently vape a lot more.
The resource crunch of raising multiple units is part of why tier lists exist. As cringe as they are, most of them do give a decent idea of what units would be worth investing your time limited resources into to get returns. Or you could just pick favorites / be a rebel and end up with 0 star clears. Its a shame that theres no real way to experiment building units cause everything costs so much resin. That being said, tier lists are at best a semi reliable guide post and definitely not anything close to a proper ranking of units, ditto for anyone throwing around usage statistics.
Why am I writing all of this, probably only to be lost in the new comments section never to be seen. Probably cause the rest of your evaluation of the game from story to writing and exploration are on point. Youre able to discern the good and bad of what this game offers with fair and proper judgement. So when I heard the "artifacts are why im at 0 stars" argument that i've heard countless times from several parts of the playerbase that love to scapegoat artifacts for their lack of game knowledge and skill, just irked me I guess. In any case, thanks for the great video.

Genshin's artifact system is the worst part of it I swear. You need 5 per character and characters come out faster than you can farm decent artifacts. And even if you could theoretically get decent artifacts in a reasonable amount of time before you pull your next character and you had enough resin to get the level up mats as well... the process is just so miserable that I don't want to.
I know that odds are I could equip all the characters I want with workable relics if I put in the time, but the process just sucks too much with no clear end point and it just feels bad.

  • @Ali-cya
    @Ali-cya ปีที่แล้ว +16

For the story consumption part, it's more so the issue of a lot of the side-stories of characters being optional, so what ended up happening was that Necrit was going through the main story only and when there was an AR requirement for the next one while doing future events he had to return to 'the past' sort of speak to catch up on character quests, which for people who played in chronological order it felt like he was rushing even though he in fact was not. The game simply does not force character stories upon players, but those stories are needed for context which is why Necrit was in perpetual confusion.
Also, there are three types of artifacts according to players(not two): 'Perfect', 'Mid' and 'Trash'. Mid is good, but people don't like mediocre things or being mediocre simply because it can be better. This is a human perspective issue in general and not special to Genshin. To most if it's not top of the line, no one cares about it, be it about a person an event or an object, thus 'Mid'.

If he's confused because he did something "out of order", then when he does it that confusion will still be cleared.

As someone who watched all Necrit's Genshin stream, I want to points out few things.
    1. Him being F2P is basically a running joke in the chat. As he said, some viewers actually gift him welkin and genesis crystal, and he uses those for his pulls. If he was truly F2P, he won't have enough to get the Beacon's claymore because he got the polearm twice.
    2. When he said he get Hutao + Yelan in 20 pulls, technically, it's not correct. He did some pulls in Alhaitham's banner before, so his pity is already pretty high at this points.
    3. Most people actually believe that clearing Abyss with "bad" characters is very possible. Some people even suggest Candance because hydro infusion + XL is actually very good, which is the one he used. So I'm not sure why he said that people don't believe he will not clear abyss without Hu Tao.
    4. In defense of chat backseating, honestly, a lot of them are trying to help. And sometimes being helpful can get into this grey area. Is trying to help and give tips actually count as backseating?
But still, Necrit clearing Abyss with barely built characters is very impressive. And that was during the Wenut Abyss too, which is probably the worst Abyss rotation in a while.
His skill is real, and if he has better built characters, 36* Abyss will be easy for him.

Yup, i watch his stream too. Necrit is actually pretty darn good, on his management of Artifacts and Talents for Char. Chat says that 'You need to read the skills effect and etc' and mad that Necrit doesn't understand the skills the char that he got. But i think its discret Necrit too much, yeah in Streams he jokingly troll the chat and makes them irritate. But when the Catch troll came out, i think Necrits know what he is doing all this time behind the streams. And yeah Backseating is something, but thats not new at this point, many streamers have experience that i can fully agree with Necrit sentiments. But, still there is some that trully passionate and try to help him, but he's right that it will falls under gray area when he can't distinguished who is helping, trolling or out of spite. Honestly, i do agree with nearly everything you said.
    - Black screens should be considered Crime against Story telling.
    - You can skip 80% of dialog and still understand everything.
    - Aranara quest was Hideous. Did they really hoped me to read all that Alien language? C mon
    - Most Main story quests suffer from pacing.
    - Character Stories are SUPER Boring. You have lawyer, Tax officer, Dude who talks with rocks, Alchemy, Yae started good, later you find out you got on Writing competition or whatever, Eula has tragic story, but your quest is how to learn to dance.
    - Story based on characters always gonna end up like this, where they HAVE to shoehorn in some 5 star characters into the story. Honkai impact did it better since it's character based on story, not story based on characters.
    My Personal issues:
    - Combat is NOT that great when you think about it. All it does, it's focusing to much on elemental reactions. Which means, as long as you have certain elements, you see big numbers. I WANT FLASHY ULTIMATES. God coming down from the sky, Raiden raiding a dragon or some sh*t. When Raiden Shogun Boss came out, i thought "YES, finally we'll get a character which ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE 5 STAR" nah, all you get is tazer on a fishing stick. Crazily enough, That would be totally in Honkai impact 3rd, and it's like 5 year old, and they have Raiden Mei which rides a Dragon. Honkai Star rail have that, Why Genshin can't? On the same note, Ults with animations sucks. It's cool first 5 times, then... That's why Rosalya is one of the best characters in the game.
Nearly none of the characters FEELS like 5 star. Newest character? Awful he does absolutely nothing.
    - Abyss is a dogsh*t I dont see how people can have fun with that. EVERYTHING is made just to waste your time. Is it hard? NO. Is there incentive to achieve best team for that fight? NO. Since you have to go through same 2 chambers again to to get to 3rd for whatever reason. WHY? It's baffling how that never got reworked. While Honkai impact Abyss got reworked like 10 times. And it is, more fun.
    - Why limit Serenita pot building? WHY? Let people go crazy at it, let them build whatever they want ffs
+ What this game does VERY WELL is Exploration. That's the main reason i still play it. And sometimes comes out character i like design of. i have 30k gems as a f2p still waiting for next character i'll like. I just like run around, get some farming, visit a pot or something. I did delete this game like 10 times already. Still returning for whatever reason

about the events having lore, man.. the only way for the events to not feel "filler" is by including some semblance of cannon storytelling. I'd go as far as to say that it doesn't have enough lore as it is.
Now of course, it sucks that future players will not be able to experience them (Albedo's events, Mona's event, the archipelagos) but I believe that's a necessary tradeoff to keep the current playerbase interested. The story related events are seriously the best. That being said, It would be so nice to include these stories as short videos that summarize everything that happened but I dont know.
