    Been fishing the GC canals since the late 90s and the "no run, no fun" rule always applies. I've had great success on a dead low just as the run starts as big schools push up into the canals.

      Yeah totally agree mate, a bif of flow makes a huge difference, I've had a lot of success on the low too as the bait has no cover and is susceptible to a pack attack against the bank 😁🤙 thanks for tuning in 😉👍

    Great video…. Really helpful. You mentioned you’d just put down the fly rod and I was hoping you were going to run through the fly gear in your tackle talk. Have you been getting any on the fly rod, and if so could you do a video dedicated to just fly for guys like me? Any help to get me connected would be greatly appreciated. Cheers 👍🐟

      Thanks for the feedback mate, it's funny you mention that, I was going to do an extended version covering fly but decided I'd do a specific episode. I have been taking my fly gear with me but the fish haven't been playing ball, they are generally out of range or move very fast. I haven't seen the big schools of fish that were around last month, it's just scattered individual fish at the moment ..they are bigger tho 😉 yeah I'll try and get around to dropping a dedicated fly vid , watch this space 😉👍

    I got smashed by a big gt on the splash prawn at that BUNDALL bridge. Ran me under a jetty and instead snap off. Couldn’t stop it running.

    What brand are the assist hooks?

  • @coda.cfishing

    What knots do you use. Would double uni leader knot and uni knot be fine ?

    • @louisfishingodyssey
      @louisfishingodyssey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate , I always use FG knots for leader to braid, I have had the double uni fail me on occasions. I find the FG is by far the strongest. Uni knot to the lure is fine , I generally use the loop knot but each to their own 😉👍

      @@louisfishingodyssey thank you would 30 lb fc rock be able to handle a mangrove jack ? And what's your favorite lure for jack

    • @louisfishingodyssey
      @louisfishingodyssey  ปีที่แล้ว

      @coda I usually use 30lb when trolling for Jacks, If I'm throwing lures at pylons then 40-50 depending on how gnarly the structure is. You can't go past the Jackall Squirrels , lucky craft pointers & daiwa Double Clutch, they would be my pic 👍
