9-day book festival with 200 stalls comes to Fergusson College Pune Thousands of books in at least 200 stalls from publishers of 10 Indian languages and in English will be on sale as part of the Pune Book Festival from December 16 to 24 on Fergusson College ground.
Various cultural events will also be part of the event. The book festival will be open to the public, from 10.30am to 8.30pm every day. Over five lakh people are expected to attend the book festival. The organisers said that new writers will be encouraged during the event.
Milind Marathe said that extensive book collections in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, and other Indian languages with publishers of national fame will be held here. The festival will include more than two hundred publishers’ galleries, cultural performances, various sessions on literature, special activities for school students and collegians, delicious food stalls, etc.
Punekars once again set a new Guinness World Record for the Pune Book Festival at Fergusson College as the event witnessed the creation of the inspiring phrase “Jayatu Bharat”, skillfully crafted with the collaborative effort of an astounding 18,000 books.
With several volunteers participating in the third Guinness World Record in Pune happening in three days, the meticulously arranged books formed the words “Jayatu Bharat”. It symbolized a celebration of Bharat’s triumphs and resilience.
