Why are people so against Lana being there with her? Taylor brought her up there because Lana is featured on the album.
because it feels almost humiliating for lana since she didn’t win. plus you can see lana insisting that she doesn’t want to go up with taylor
edit: i’m a bit tired of replying here but i’d just like to clarify that i think it was extremely kind of taylor to take lana up because YES i’m aware, lana was featured on the album and was a producer, and they’re close friends so i love taylor for being able to do that for lana (and it’s obviously not ill intended for that reason) but like i said, it just feels kind of like salt in the wound because lana was a fellow nominee and lost. she’s onstage! but it’s not because she won. think about how you would feel!

Grammy's, what do you have against Lana like seriously. All these big artists always saying how Lana impacted the music industry and literally paved the road for so many alternative artists and you don't think she deserves one at least one award. It feels like you're are actively trying to go out of your way to not give Lana a Grammy at this point.

And when Taylor highlights this she gets slammed. “In her prime” and “legacy artist” were her telling the academy they are missing the boat on Lana. “Thank you for voting the way you did but I know it’s because of the fans I won” is acknowledging it’s her supernova popularity this year that got her the Grammy as much as the music itself this time.
It’s actually insane that Lana has not one a single grammy. I get that she doesn’t need that validation but some of her albums are literally masterpieces that paved the way for alternative artists.

So congratz to her. Beyonce and Xtina also attended, Xtina presenting to Karol G. So many 90s and 2000s divas I grew up listening to and admiring for their vocal talent in one room. Supposedly, they have warned all the nominees before the show about Celine's condition and told them to not touch her. Taylor didn't expect to win at all (that's why she announced her new album at the first award she won and didn't wait for the Album of the Year category) so she wasn't prepared beforehand for what to do when she wins, she was too overwhelmed and you can see her teary eyes when she was handed the award by Celine and didn't know what to do. They took photos together backstage with Taylor hugging Celine, and Celine posted the photos and Taylor commented 13 hearts (Taylor's favorite number) on Celine's post.
Also, Taylor was singing and dancing to The Power of Love when they played the song when Celine came to the stage before announcing the winner!

I'm not even a Taylor fan, but she was right when she said Lana is a Legacy artist. She may not have a Grammy, but the two or three winners that shouted Lana out during their speeches says way more when you have respect from the "top artists in the industry" at the moment, than a trophy. Lana will be on "Albums You Must Hear" lists for decades, and even rolled onto stage to perform when she is 80 just like they did Joni Mitchell at the ceremony.... which I felt Lana was robbed by not getting to perform with Joni knowing she's a huge influence on Lana. That would have been an award show historic moment for me...

On 01:14 Taylor was really overwhelmed, you can see her teary eyes when she was handed the award by Celine afterwards, Taylor did not expect to win at all and she stated that, she always be prepared for anything and for winning but she wasn’t prepared for winning her fourth Album of the Year because it seemed impossible. She didn’t know what to do.
On 02:05 Taylor was mentioning the producers & people who worked on Midnights, why would she thank Celine in that moment?

I'm done idolizing her, how could you continue to admire such a horrific act she displayed. I can't even afford to listen to her songs anymore or watch any of her videos without remembering this moment of mistreatment she did to Celine. I'm saying all these because that's how upset I am with the disrespect, and the more I read people defending Taylor's rudeness, the more it makes me upset why people can't realize how bad it was to ignore someone like they don't matter or exist especially if that person is sick but went there to give the honor of handing you the award. I'm just totally pissed of Taylor, the more I re watch the video and the more her staff cover up and defend such bad attitude, the more I want to make them realized what they are supporting is narcissism and shouldn't continue, that attitude has to stop, not to be supported, or young people will follow, and the world will be full of egoistic people and rudeness and disrespect. I'm done with Taylor. I unsubscribed and unfollowed her. I unliked every video I liked before. I love Celine Dion more. And Taylor forget that Celine fans exist, and that she can't just ditched our Celine just like that without hearing a reaction from her fans. Big mistake Taylor, big big mistake. Everyone in this comment section acting like they've never accidentally blanked someone in even less chaotic situations than this. She gave Celine a standing ovation and sang her song, said thank you to her as she walked offstage, hugged and took a photo with her backstage and the celine posted that and taylor replied with loads of love hearts. You just want a reason to shit on her, taylor is endlessly appreciative of her elders and icons and there's 5000 examples of that but you want to reduce her to this one minor error to suit your hatred

But she was late getting up to teh stage with the speech on a timer and her sound engineer was saying something to her as she walked to the mic and celine and they just didn't meet well to have a proper Moment. Didn’t even make eye contact with the person who presented you your award?? Regardless of it being the legend Celine Dion herself, you should at least acknowledge the person who presents your award. Seemed very off to me.
She always hugged and thanked the people who handed her the awards, she did so with the people who handed her the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy. She just didn’t expect to win her fourth Album of the Year at all (that’s why she announced her new album at the first award she won and didn’t wait for Album of the Year category). No one would expect and plan and be waiting to break the all-time record so early in their career. She didn’t plan for the moment at all, and supposedly, they warned all the nominees about Celine’s disease and told them to not touch her after winning so Taylor probably didn’t know what to do at all.
Taylor was singing and dancing to The Power of Love when they played the song when Celine came to the stage before announcing the winner. She obviously loves Celine, it was just an overwhelming moment for her.
