I’m a sixty four year old senior citizen. This video brought back memories. I remember how freaked out everyone was about the deaths of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and especially Janis Joplin. Since I was a fan of their music (and an impressionable kid) my parents had to lecture me about drug abuse after each tragedy. God Bless My Parents for keeping me grounded in reality instead of seduced by the tragic fantasy.

Tragic and preventable losses which must have devastated their respective families and friends. Rest In Peace to all of these wonderfully talented people. Very sad.. 💐💐💐
I'm 48. My parents had this stuff playing all the time. But they actually talked about why they died, so I passed on that attitude to my boys...to my Iraqi hubby's shock. And girl, 64 is NOT a senior. You are young baby
Here in the Philippines, we have a famous and well-known actor/matinee idol named Rico Yan who also died at the age of 27 due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on March 2002 (Good Friday). OMG! I wrote the comment above at the beginning of your video. And I'm shocked and goosebump when I saw Rico Yan's grave. I didn't expect it. Thank you, Arthur, for including him. He was such a nice and intelligent man. ♥️ Rest in peace to all these young talents! 🙏🙏🙏

I watched a video a couple of years back where they showed Anton Yelchin in one of his final roles walking through Hollywood Forever cemetery and you can see the very spot where his memorial now stands in the background. It was filmed a year or less before his death. Really haunting.

I'm so glad you included Mia Zapata. Although all the deaths featured in this video were tragic, hers hit me particularly hard- not just because I was a fan of The Gits, but the circumstances of her murder. After her death, many in Seattle's music community, including Nirvana & Pearl Jam, came together in a benefit concert to raise funds to hire a private detective when the case went cold. Her death also led to a movement to empower women to learn self-defense in a program called Home Alive. When Joan Jett learned of her murder & that funds had run out for the private detective, donated money & went on tour with the remaining members of The Gits to raise more funds. Mia's murderer was convicted a decade later. He didn't even know who she was. He died in prison last year.
This might sound a little strange, but it always bothers me when I don't see any acknowledgment, no matter how small written on a headstone, if they were an actor, actress, singer, author, etc... And what really upsets me is when some people don't even have a head stone, just left totally empty. Forgotten as if they never existed.
Once again a terrific program. As a lifelong "Deadhead" I appreciate you including Ron McKernan. He was a gifted musician with that bluesy voice. His background was "black" music as they called it. No slight intended. Ronnie's father was a DJ in San Francisco and played the so called black music. Ronnie was so influenced by the blues. Even knew some folks thanks to his Dad. There used to be a radio show called "Blues before Sunrise". Old blues. I could have seen Ronnie hosting a show like that in his later years while between tours of The Grateful Dead. I wasn't old enough to see Ronnie playin in the band. He was simply Just gifted. Really a shame. Thanks again.

I grew up in Aberdeen Washington and lived two houses down from Kurt's memorial park. Thank you for showing the beautiful banks of the Wishkah (wish-kaw) River. As much as he hated Aberdeen, like the rest of who grew there did, he was a huge influence on so many artists then and now. May his screams live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
So touching 😢 that his Mom cleans his grave site and puts fresh 💐 flowers there. My Brother died , my Mother did the same. thing. She would say that ,she always thought of him. The only time she wasn't sad, was when she went to play bingo or bowling. It's so sad when one if your child dies before you.

I got to meet Jim Morrison's family. His dad was my patient in 2006 at Balboa Navy Hospital, San Diego. I was a Navy Corpsman. His dad was real nice and cordial. The whole family was as sweet as can be.

I saw Jim Morrison’s grave on my first trip to Paris in 1991. There were people just hanging out there, ALL day. They just literally sit at his grave. That was way before they put up that fence. I was really shocked 😳 when I saw that!!
I wish I could visit his grave as morbid as that might sound. I’ve been a Doors fan for roughly 50 years. My pops was a DJ on the side and brought me home albums all the time as a little kid. One was The Doors first album. He liked Light My Fire. Turned out I loved the whole album. So I ended up eventually getting all their albums then cassettes then CD’s. I even had one 8 track🤣. Being a mid 60’s baby it’s almost impossible not to be.
I have to say this is probably one of your best videos to date. Your research is well done, the narrative is very informative, and your compassion is so moving. Many on this list died because of their bad choices. It's easy to say, "Well, there goes another rock n roll druggie/suicide/waste of talent," but when I hear about their lives, their talents, and their stories in this video, I came away with a profound sadness. And we should always remember that there is a family who mourned each and every one of them.

As one of your Filipino subs, I thank you Mr. Arthur Dark, for featuring not just one of the country's biggest matinee idols, but also one of the biggest stars of the 90s, Rico Yan. Yes, I still remember how his sudden passing was ALL OVER the news at that time...and that some people thought that his cause of death was a "nightmare" (or as locals call it "bangungot"). I, alongside other of your Filipino subs, am hoping you can come here to the Philippines, as we have SO MANY famous graves here, not just Rico, but also other entertainment and sports personalities, as well as Heroes, National Artists/Scientists, and even former Presidents!

The story of Jade really got me and brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know her or her story but you made it a perfect telling of a life taken way too soon. That scene of her with her family sitting on the hillside hit me deeply. Drugs/alcohol and moving vehicles... What a waste of these lives. Jade Goody was phenomenal throughout her illness. She may have have only been 27 years old, but she put her illness aside while she tried to make enough money for her two adorable boys. He was a very talented singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/pianist. *Thank God The Beatles discovered "Badfinger* " with *Pete Ham , Tom Evans, Joey Molland* and *Mike Gibbins* . They gave us so many great song! Pete should've never taken his life. Things would've worked out later. The same for Tom Evans, who also took his life in 1983. I got to meet "Tom Evans" at a Night Club in "Bridgeport, Ct back in 1981. Great chap!

Wow, I did not realize there were that many members of this club. I remember in the early 70's visiting Jimi Hendrix's grave and it was just his headstone the said "Forever in our hearts"

Maybe when you do another video, maybe keep mentioning them and instead of showing markers, you can do like this one and show bodies of water when mentioning those whose ashes were scattered at sea or a forest or wooden area for those scattered around trees or parks or even those who were creamted and their family members still have their ashes in urns. I know the story. Cream,Eric Clapton's band sang about this in their song Crossroad. You can't actually sell your soul to the devil though. If you're lost you're already Satan's and wind up in hell on Judgment Day. If you are a Christian you belong to God and Satan can never have you.
Jim Morrison will always be one of my biggest heart break's..He had such raw talent. Val Kilmer who acted in the Door's movie, once said in the Documentary that it was a real shame Jim didn't focus on his craft a little more...

Before turning 27, besides thinking of Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendricks, and Janis Joplin mainly to name a few, I was almost so sure I was gonna go with them at that age. But according to my spoiler, I made it past that age too. The same year I turned 27 is the year of my sobriety date from alcohol, in 2010. Unfortunately I relapsed with drugs only in2015, but cleaned up my mess right away in 2016. Im just glad to be alive and to be able to look at the 27 club, as an obstacle I managed to overcome alive.

I know this would be a VERY long video, but perhaps a suggestion of visiting the Graves of notable military personnel (ie Medal of Honor recipients, military presidents, and other notables) that impacted the turn of the continuous freedom and liberty that we, as Americans, are blessed to have every day.

For non-UK viewers, it's hard to describe just how famous Jade Goodie was from her first appearance on the TV show "Big Brother" until her death. I watched a video a couple of years back where they showed Anton Yelchin in one of his final roles walking through Hollywood Forever cemetery and you can see the very spot where his memorial now stands in the background. It was filmed a year or less before his death. Really haunting.

I'm so glad you included Mia Zapata. Although all the deaths featured in this video were tragic, hers hit me particularly hard- not just because I was a fan of The Gits, but the circumstances of her murder. After her death, many in Seattle's music community, including Nirvana & Pearl Jam, came together in a benefit concert to raise funds to hire a private detective when the case went cold. Her death also led to a movement to empower women to learn self-defense in a program called Home Alive. When Joan Jett learned of her murder & that funds had run out for the private detective, donated money & went on tour with the remaining members of The Gits to raise more funds. Mia's murderer was convicted a decade later. He didn't even know who she was. He died in prison last year.
I did not know she was interred at Cave Hill. I am glad her murderer was caught and convicted.
Kurt didn’t actually die. The body was actually of a homeless man.

This might sound a little strange, but it always bothers me when I don't see any acknowledgment, no matter how small written on a headstone, if they were an actor, actress, singer, author, etc... And what really upsets me is when some people don't even have a head stone, just left totally empty. Forgotten as if they never existed.

Once again a terrific program. As a lifelong "Deadhead" I appreciate you including Ron McKernan. He was a gifted musician with that bluesy voice. His background was "black" music as they called it. No slight intended. Ronnie's father was a DJ in San Francisco and played the so called black music. Ronnie was so influenced by the blues. Even knew some folks thanks to his Dad. There used to be a radio show called "Blues before Sunrise". Old blues. I could have seen Ronnie hosting a show like that in his later years while between tours of The Grateful Dead. I wasn't old enough to see Ronnie playin in the band. He was simply Just gifted. Really a shame. Thanks again.

I grew up in Aberdeen Washington and lived two houses down from Kurt's memorial park. Thank you for showing the beautiful banks of the Wishkah (wish-kaw) River. As much as he hated Aberdeen, like the rest of who grew there did, he was a huge influence on so many artists then and now. May his screams live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

I got to meet Jim Morrison's family. His dad was my patient in 2006 at Balboa Navy Hospital, San Diego. I was a Navy Corpsman. His dad was real nice and cordial. The whole family was as sweet as can be.

I saw Jim Morrison’s grave on my first trip to Paris in 1991. There were people just hanging out there, ALL day. They just literally sit at his grave. That was way before they put up that fence. I was really shocked 😳 when I saw that!!
I wish I could visit his grave as morbid as that might sound. I’ve been a Doors fan for roughly 50 years. My pops was a DJ on the side and brought me home albums all the time as a little kid. One was The Doors first album. He liked Light My Fire. Turned out I loved the whole album. So I ended up eventually getting all their albums then cassettes then CD’s. I even had one 8 track🤣. Being a mid 60’s baby it’s almost impossible not to be.

I have to say this is probably one of your best videos to date. Your research is well done, the narrative is very informative, and your compassion is so moving. Many on this list died because of their bad choices. It's easy to say, "Well, there goes another rock n roll druggie/suicide/waste of talent," but when I hear about their lives, their talents, and their stories in this video, I came away with a profound sadness. Yes, I still remember how his sudden passing was ALL OVER the news at that time...and that some people thought that his cause of death was a "nightmare" (or as locals call it "bangungot").

As a kid, I loved the original Power Rangers and remember Thuy Trang being one of the first celebrity deaths that really hit me. Sadly reunited just this past week with green and white co-star Jason David Frank.
I'm glad you remembered " *Pete Ham* ". He was a very talented singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/pianist. *Thank God The Beatles discovered "Badfinger* " with *Pete Ham , Tom Evans, Joey Molland* and *Mike Gibbins* . They gave us so many great song! Pete should've never taken his life. Things would've worked out later. The same for Tom Evans, who also took his life in 1983.
I got to meet "Tom Evans" at a Night Club in "Bridgeport, Ct back in 1981. Great chap!

Maybe when you do another video, maybe keep mentioning them and instead of showing markers, you can do like this one and show bodies of water when mentioning those whose ashes were scattered at sea or a forest or wooden area for those scattered around trees or parks or even those who were creamted and their family members still have their ashes in urns. Before turning 27, besides thinking of Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendricks, and Janis Joplin mainly to name a few, I was almost so sure I was gonna go with them at that age. But according to my spoiler, I made it past that age too. The same year I turned 27 is the year of my sobriety date from alcohol, in 2010. Unfortunately I relapsed with drugs only in2015, but cleaned up my mess right away in 2016. Im just glad to be alive and to be able to look at the 27 club, as an obstacle I managed to overcome alive.
Well done on turning your life around ❤ I’m surprised and saddened no one else has said that 😢

I know this would be a VERY long video, but perhaps a suggestion of visiting the Graves of notable military personnel (ie Medal of Honor recipients, military presidents, and other notables) that impacted the turn of the continuous freedom and liberty that we, as Americans, are blessed to have every day.
