    Im trying to find a little bit larger diameter burner than standard for a pair of old Brinkman turkey/fish fryers. When cooking with a #14 skillet or 15" diameter pizza pan/griddle, the heat needs wider distribution to avoid that annoying hot spot in the center.

    I agree. A good paella will do the test and looking forward for your results on it. I am so glad companies are getting feedbacks from regular users like you , me or anyone else. Honest opinions are worth listening. Keep up the good work.

    I just bought this to melt lead and to blanch green beans, I think it will work for both, defiantly not in the same pot.

    • @BackwoodsGourmetChannel
      @BackwoodsGourmetChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Use mine for blanching all the time. It recovers very quickly between batches.

    Looks like a good deal. I bought the Bayou Classic equivalent (but stainless steel). I think it is made a little nicer (though the minimal assembly done on the Bayou Classic at their China facility was NOT the best - ie. four screws in the unit holding the burner not done very well), but I think the functionality would be exactly the same (assuming the same psi regulator). Definitely a good option for cheaper. The only thing I would ding the manufacturer on is putting that label that "melts" on. They should have used a metal name plate. But as you say, that doesn't affect the functionality. Have you compared this to a double jet burner for boiling water?

    Can you maintain around 173 degrees distill temperature with this or is it too much heat to level off and maintain at this range

    The concord badge discolored because it had a piece of plastic on it to protect it during shipping.

    Perhaps if you put a lid on the pot it will boil faster maybe in like 5 minutes? What do you thinK? My friend recommended that to me when I was boiling water on my regular kitchen stove and I complained it was taking for ever. Thank you, I actually picked one of these of the street just about an hour ago. It looks brand new. there is no stand but Im sure I can fashion something together. Great find know that you have shown me what its good for. I like your video because you got right to it unlike the last 2 videos i watched. thanks so much.s

    Great videos. Do you ever do any real high heat wok cooking on propane burners? Kind of tough to find videos on youtube about real wok cooking in the back yard.

      I do use a handled wok to cook vegetables a lot. This company also makes woks and wok rings for this unit. Maybe they can send me some in the future to do my American Style wok cooking.

    I think my cost to make maple syrup just went up next spring. The burner and 2 tanks of propane equals about $120 for the first gallon.!

      I have not tried it on low yet. Check out upcoming videos for that. Trying to produce the video on the little stew pot now, and do the third video for this weekend. This is hard work.

      YES, it is hard work BUT someone has to do it. The best part are the perks, you get to eat what you cook. Keep up the great productions man. Maco and Jack from the Philip[pines.

      Maybe if you guys keep sharing my videos and we can get to 100K subs, I can make this my job. Right now, it's a extra job that I get paid very little for. We have quite a few viewers in the Philippines already, but we need more. Thanks for watching.

    There are some things that just aren't made in America anymore and if they were they would be priced too high to be afordable.

    • @BackwoodsGourmetChannel
      @BackwoodsGourmetChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Even old American name brands are now made in China. Just because you recognize the name of something as American, does not mean it is made here. The government has priced US companies out of the market with taxes and regulations.

      Try;
      The 2 vent slots control the air/fuel mixture
      Loosen the the 2 PhillipsHead screws to adjust.

    That burner does not look like 16 inches. But your pot still looks a little small for the burner.

      My setup here in the studio requires that the tank is on that side. So I would have switched it even if I had not taken it off to install the legs. Thanks for watching.

      @BackwoodsGourmetChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well Richard, what you don't know is that after I produced this video, the company that makes it went back and changed the directions to make it easier to assemble using my advice.
