    Looks pretty good. The adjustability in the legs is a good thing. I have an old turkey fryer that has the cast iron burner so I know what you mean about the burners. I wonder if you could make some spacers to lift your pans a little higher to bring the heat down? Maybe bricks on the corners and expanded metal across for a higher grate? Definitely a lot of potential there.

      I don't know if I will need any rig for it now that I have learned how to set the flame levels. I just tuned down the main regulator and it works just like any commercial cook top. Thanks for watching Jerry.

    I’ve searched the Internet for nearly an hour looking for some kind of manual or how-to for the three burner stove we recently bought. We could NOT figure out how the valves behind the knobs worked. Thank you SO MUCH for this video. You’re our hero today. You explained everything perfectly and saved us. We’re propane stove rookies, if you couldn’t tell.

    How about a review on the Outland stove since it has excellent ratings on Amazon; this one comes with auto ignition, leg-leveling adjusters, wind protection panels, prep panels, and wheels; all folded up into one unit that resembles a traveling suitcase.

    I've been looking for a two burner cooker. I like the 55000 BTU output on these burners. My concern is - can you get a nice low flame for long slow simmers? Can you reduce the pressure with the regulator to achieve a very low flame if the burner knob can't?

      I have found that the combination of the 2 controls and mixing valve work perfectly. Just takes a little tinkering. Thanks for watching.

    As a retired import mechanic...a 3/4 inch wrench can double for a 19mm, 3/8 is close to 10mm, 9/16 doubles for 14 mm, 1/2 doubles for 13mm...those were the most common I swapped back and forth with no problems when I was working. That might help some folks. Those diffusers are deluxe well made good quality looks like....as far as the rest of the stove, time tells....sometime the Chinese get certain things right. Thanks for the video:).

    I find on these types of stoves, even the lowest setting is too hot. What do you recommend for taking these to be able to simmer

    • @BackwoodsGourmetChannel
      @BackwoodsGourmetChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This one does a low simmer perfectly. If your does not, find something to raise the pot. When I had the old fish cooker, I used an old burner grate from an old gas stove to make more distance between fire and pot.

      Tony how do you find it I am thinking of getting one

    • @tonyroolze
      @tonyroolze 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tricia Downie I think it’s great, if your in the UK get it straight from Viper direct as it’s cheaper than amazon, which is where i got it from! In advance I bought an adapter to fit a Uk propane cylinder but it came with an elbow to the gas fixing to allow a Uk propane gas orange pipe to just fit straight in it and there was no other adapter required! If an adapter is needed for some reason at the gas bottle end then you will need a POC to QCC1 adapter. I wish it had a windshield but I’m thinking of getting some material to wrap around the legs like most gas BBQ have to create a shield. Also I’m getting a stainless steel hot plate made up for it to sit directly on the gas rings so I have a big surface area to cook with.. To answer your question I think it’s great but expect paint to burn away at the cooking frame within the hob area and use a potable gas lighter to ignite it as it has no form of self ignition . Hope that helps 😁

    After watching your video above, I clicked on the link to make a purchase but I had to spend some time looking through a list of products in order to find it. I was tempted to go straight to amazon and just type in the name, but if I did that, you won’t get the commission so I went back to your link above and just look through your list. I wish your link takes me directly to the item on the video. Anyway, you should get the commission from my purchase. My name is Kieu Phan. Thank you!

      Thanks. When I posted this video I was not in the Influencer program. I will go back and give a direct link. Thanks for watching and you will enjoy this unit. Mine is 2 years old now and I use it several times a week. Still work great. Tip" Keep it out of the weather.

    Other then a fire risk why can’t you use the unit inside? There’s are millions of people that don’t have Natural gas for their homes and they are using propane to cook and heat their homes. Plus what about those Mr Buddy heaters that uses propane and they can be used for indoors. What about the small table top propane stove? I’ve seen a lot of things use propane and they are for indoors. To be on the safe side I would just get multiple carbon monoxide alarms.

      This old spatula has been used so much that the corners are worn off. I have been using it since 1986. I don't have any problem with this one damaging my pans.

    OK, while I watched this video several times and you did a nice job of reviewing it, I am still bothered that the stove is Chinese. I need an outdoor stove such as this, but I do not buy Chinese. Is it worth biting the bullet or should I keep looking? Obviously, you are satisfied with the construction and operation of the stove. Are there any negatives that you can point out? Thank you.

      If you leave it out in the rain uncovered, the burners fill up with water and it's hard to get it out. I finally got it partially lit to evaporate the remaining water.

      If that was your impression of the video, you are wrong. I will say that there are good and not so good things about this cooker. The burners are great, it works great but the frame is a little flimsy. For the money, it is a good value. I have not found one that is built any better for less than $500. I will give updates as we use this.
