- Made it to China Peak!
This place is always scary and intimidating to return to. This year I chose not to race due to a last minute Covid shot & news that I’d be traveling to Canada to ride Whistler Bike Park with my fellow Norco field marketing specialist coworkers. STOKED on that news!
Played it safe this year and I’m currently building up a new Norco Bike that I’m going to be racing on for the remainder of the season.. WoW it’s gonna be purrty. I’d rather not ride out here at China Peak on my Rocky Mountain Instinct with only 140-150 travel as I’ve not been feeling the most confident in its current setup and geometry 📐

Outside of that ridiculous fireroad traverse (seriously?), those tracks look fun! Really enjoyed this one.
re: the bike feeling plusher than your RM, some of that maybe due to the weight of the EB? The ones I've ridden all just mob the chatter and make it all feel super muted.
Really cool gnarly terrain!
More so this bikes leverage curve & geometry that I’m referring to in the vid. I know weight makes it feel a bit more composed and muted but that’s not the plush & deep feel which I feel like the Norco sight VLT has dialed in really well and more forward thinking.
This bike was ragged on a tad by few other professional testers as being more enduro and not as playful.. which might be true to some point, but for the trails I ride & on bigger terrain like this China Peak nastiness.. I’ll take the Sight VLT with all of it’s confidence, plushness & stability all day!!

Yes building up my race bike.. the Rocky was a great all rounder, but in its instinct form it’s just not the plush confluence inspiring rig I’d like to be pushing race speeds on.. so now that I’m with Norco as their new Field Marketing Specialist, I’ll be moving onto a new bike for the next California Enduro Series race at Mt Shasta
