  • Today's video features a few trains on the central plateau before looking into the Tangiwai Pulp mill and one of the trains that service it. We also get to see the mill owned DSA shunter (recently overhauled by the Glenbrook Vintage Railway) building up some of the consist before a DL start up and then some shunting from the DLs before they take it on to Palmerston North. We also see the Pulp train cross the Northern Explorer with DFB 7023 (Back from the south island) leading it the train to Auckland at Waiouru.
The siding to the Mill is just a few meters down the line from where the Tangiwai Disaster happened we don't really look into that just an extra fact in here another thing to note the DSA in the video used to wear the Toll Rail corn cob livery before its overhaul.
Next Video will be chasing DH 2845 recently overhauled at the Hutt workshops in Wellington from Taumarunui to Hamilton on train 234 with a few extra surprises at the end but that's all for now.
Special Thanks to the KiwiRail Crews for some great Rail fanning!
    Enjoy!

What! I did not know that the Glenbrook Heritage Railway does refurbishments and conducts maintenance on privately owned industrial switchers in New Zealand!!!
