We bought our Sunset travel trailer last October 2021, the travel trailer is identical to the unit you showed in the video. We love the sunset travel trailer, we have used the camper once in October 2021 then had the unit winterized till April then went to campgrounds in Washington, Idaho and Montana. We just got back from a three week trip in Montana. The fact that the bathroom is not available is not a deal breaker, just move the slide out a little where we can squeeze into the bathroom. We tow the camper with a 2022 Ram one-half ton pickup that is equipped with a 9 speed transmission. going through the mountains in norther Idaho, Washington & central Montana the truck tows the trailer nicely at 60 to 65 mph. We have had a few issues with the trailer though, the major items are the heater went out in Montana along with we have developed a water leak under the sink. I checked all the lines back there, nothing is wet of feels moist to the touch like the water is coming from the pluming under the sink. The rubber seal around the freezer door is not sealing properly causing us to have to defrost the freezer. The trailer is going in to the shop in the 13th of September. I will let you know what they find.
If we weren’t so in love with our Winnebago 26RBSS, we think we’d cheat on it with this trailer. Only 2 things that bugs the boogers out of us. 1) Counter space. 2) With the slide in, if traveling, you can’t you can’t use the turdlet, if needed. Other than that, I really like the decor, floor color choice, and that bathroom cabinet space….wow! And we too agree with the under bed storage arm holder thing, it needs two. Kudos to Sunset!!
It really is kind of the same layout vs your Winnebago in many ways. If you shifted the entry door forward on your camper, Then this would kind of be the result
Nice floorplan...probably the only time I'm OK with a dinette...but, overall, a pretty good unit. That "pet station" is hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣 Neither of my labs would benefit from that!!
Lol the counter is definitely small. With the camp kitchen and big awning I think this one really focused on doing cooking stuff outside and living stuff inside
Rear bathrooms with doors further back will usually accomplish that goal Though without an exterior bedroom door you then lose bedroom access in road mode. It’s always something
Very nice. But the tv area looks like a puzzle that somebody couldn’t quite figure out. Also on another note, can you feature some vids on trailers that are more friendly for people with mobility challenges?
Your description of the entertainment center had me chuckling. Regarding mobility enhanced RVs… Unfortunately there just aren’t a lot of those even produced out there. It is sadly not something the RV industry really seems to take into account with the exception of a very rare number of models. For instance Winnebago makes two or three motorhomes that are ADA compliant Beyond that it really kind of depends on the Nature of the persons mobility and how it may be applied to an RV. And for that I really need you to contact one of our team members so they can drive through our inventories for you
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you. Don’t know that lots of folks need a full ADA complaint trailer. Lots of us older folks just have new hips and knees and stairs are really hard.
Note on our new 253rb. The wood block for the TV mount in the bedroom, is on the sidewall opposite of the TV connections! No backer where the sticker says "TV backer here". It's on the other side of the camper where there are no tv hook-ups! So far that the only issue with our 4 day old camper!
Man, she's a beaut! Wow. Ticks a lot of the boxes! The pet palace sticker, maybe you were the victim of an "impractical joke."🤣😂 In other news, I need to see Son-in-law again, just saw In the Army Now again the day before yesterday!
Love this one. We have an Apex Nano and want to upgrade to something with king bed / sofa / dinette. We are super interested in the 272 bunkhouse since we have 2 boys.
I will if I can find one. That's actually a floor plan I recommended to them. You can see where Coachmen did a version of it here: bit.ly/3rMtp4K and Cherokee did a version of it here bit.ly/3ypd082
I was so depressed today and for some nerdy reason I laughed out loud with the screaming blue light. Thank you! Who knew your videos improve my mental health. Okay I wish they would have continued the backsplash to the end of the counter on both sides. Could you opt out on the camp kitchen? I love the pantry. It's too bad the potty room is not accessible unless you are a stick person. Nice trailer.
I've been living in one of these full time for 2 months now. I agree with everything you've described on the good and bad side. Some other minor annoyances are the light in the pet station - rather pointless to me. I wish the back splash extended to the bathroom door opening rather than stopping 8" away. USB outlets on the theater seat side of the slide would be handy, as would 120V outlets on the dining table side. It's difficult to work on a computer when the power is so far away. The integration of the radio into the TV makes it challenging if you want to replace the TV. The single AC has been able to keep the RV cool enough in 100F heat. Not at home cool, but comfortable enough to lounge in shorts and a t-shirt. The double pocket doors allow the AC to blow right in with no issues. One thing I didn't hear you mention is that the dinette is very roomy.
Nice couples camper! get rid of the bedroom floor vent - have it come out the side of the bed platform... radius showers not ideal. Great side storage by the bed headboard. Love the colors!
OK Josh.... She works... But, the small things... Ehhh.... The radius shower in that big of a bathroom, they could have done a larger rectangular one in there and added a porcelain throne. There are drawers in the kitchen area, but its not exactly at the counters... Love the huge awning and the camp kitchen is nice!!! Great solar package on this unit. Like the enclosed and heated underbelly. Love the side stands with power next to the bed!!! and I agree, that should be standard across all the brands!!!!
I swapped out the motion light from above the entry door to the pantry. We also changed the outside grill with a 22" blackstone, added a fireplace, along with many other simple changes that didn't break the bank and were all "do-it-yourself" upgrades.
@@JoshtheRVNerd , yes. This is camper #10 for me, so I'm no stranger to the TT world. This is by far the best camper we've owned. Zero issues to date (I know sometimes that's the luck of the draw, as I have worked on ALL makes and models). We did change the hinge on the outside fridge (not sure why they open backwards), added struts to all the upper cabinets, changed the door glass in favor of the one with the shade in it, outside speakers replaced added a spigot next to the blackwater clean-out (so I can use the water that's onboard to flush the black tank), changed the suspension to the moride 3000 and of course maxair roof vents.....along with the things I listed in the first post. The best couples coach under 30' on the market IMO. And I only paid $23,900 for it new in August 2020. Thanks for all you do.
Love this camper. I would want to order more back splash to the stove side, extra strut for the bed storage, and tankless hot water heater. I would want to upgrade too 50 amp and 2 ACs. I really think I need to bite the bullet and trade in my small truck for a larger one since I really want bigger camper
Josh this one is awesome! Question…since you lose the bath with the slide in, if you pull into a rest stop, can you slide it out 1/2 way or so, so you can wiggle into the bath if you need it…WITHOUT unhooking the trailer, going through setup process, etc.?
@@JoshtheRVNerd 👍🏼 This is THE one for me. Hoping you guys have these in stock. Looking forward to my call Monday with Big John (or big Mike)…don’t remember name 🤦♂️ lol
I like this one a lot. 380 watt solar? Winner!! Love the pantry. Reminds me of the 27Pack10 but without my Harley space. Maybe I could load it in the back of a 3/4-ton long bed. Hmm...
After seeing this Crossroads, it is now the one to beat. I've had a 12v fridge in my boat, keeps food (and beer) better chilled, easy to extend boondocking with either an extra battery or solar panels or both. Looks like a perfect couples trailer. And short enough at 30 ft to be able to get into more good sites at Provincial or State Parks.
Got a question for you: We're looking for a couples travel trailer, with azdel and aluminum framing. it needs to either turtle well or have two doors, 1/2 ton towable, dry weight under 6500 , 30 ft long or less, good tv position, theater seat, fluffy friendly bathroom and no bunks. Does such a thing exist or is it a unicorn? if so, will you give us a video on it please?

Hope that helps!!
I wish manufacturers would make more small bunkhouse campers with the nice large outside kitchen. I had a 2014 Outback 260TRS that was under 30ft, king bed, separate bunkhouse, large outdoor kitchen. I was a super unique layout and had everything in a small package. When i upgraded last year, I needed to buy a 37ft (Kodiak 332bhsl) monster to get everything I wanted.
I really liked this one. Only thing that kinda sticks me up on it is the lack of functional / reachable counter space But I could lean on that exterior camp kitchen with a floating table out there to compensate
LOVE the fact that when you look into the bathroom from the front room, the “ throne” isn’t the first thing you see…..no carpet, plus!!!! Huge windows, plus!!!!!King bed, plus!!!!!!! Pantry, plus!!!!!!! The kitchen space isn’t great, but I try not to spend all my time in the kitchen when we’re camping…..and the bedroom can be private……nice little unit……trying to talk the husband into a a new one…….Thanks for sharing……stay nerdy……❣️😊❣️😊❣️
You could keep the wastebasket in the pantry. Just bring it out while you’re cooking. But the total lack of usable counter space takes this one off the list.
So glad to get your input on this model. I literally just bought one from a local dealer a month ago. Mine was made in 21 even though it's a 22 and I noticed some minor changes for the good. One is the top shelf under the sink. The one in your video goes all the way back to the corner, mine does not. There is a removable panel, so I can fix that if I want. They also moved the outside fridge outlet where it's more accessible, mine is on the back wall. Adding a bed strut was a piece of cake, I also put in a thin shade door window in about a half an hour for under $100. I have seen where owners have put a mini fireplace under the TV to the left which is pretty cool, but you lose the cabinet. Swapped the toilet out too.
Thank you for sharing those easy little personal preference upfits that you applied. I know a lot of people like to see them done from the factory but they really are very easy to slap on as preferred Also thank you both for watching him congratulations man. I like this model year did great
I do like that interior color. Still bright but not stark. Nice room all around. As far as hanging space do people who are camping really need that much space? Maybe the kind of people who iron their jeans...🤣. Is the queen an option or do you have to shave the platform down? Does anything like the side stand or closet extend in that case? Just curious.
I believe these are just factory kings only btw Meaning I don’t believe there are any side stand variances. That’s a common thing from this group for consistency in production lines
We know someone selling this model that has only been used twice they say. It doesn’t have many extra options except back up and side cameras. It comes with 2 generators and most of their equipment too. They are asking $33,000. I know these were much cheaper a few years ago…… is this a fair deal? Anyone?
Happy Easter! Very nice trailer. However, to us, the bathroom road mode access is more important than the snack tastic road mode lol! But overall very good floor plan!
I really like when the bath is at the back because its always more roomy. I love the bedroom with a King sized bed. The only downside is lack of counter space in the kitchen, not much prep space for food.
This is a very nice camper. Wish it had a little more counter space in the kitchen. Love the storage. Definitely needs a second strut on the bed. Thank you for sharing so many different campers. Happy Easter to you and your family. 🐇🐰
I just traded in a 2021 sunset trail 272bh on a 2022 outback 291ubh. The sunset was a fine camper, better interior fit and finish than my much more expensive outback. Just wasn't a fan of the layout, the lack of storage, counter space, no pantry, and tiny bathroom. The king size bed seemed like a great idea but in reality it takes up so much room you can barely manuever around it. I much prefer the camper queen in my new outback. For the money though sunset trail makes a very good camper.
Josh , Another beautiful camper. I don’t like the placement of the control panel. It could be put in the first closet you showed. I would like more counter space. Over a beautiful couple camper. Blessings from Gettysburg Pa..
Beautiful RV for a Beautiful Easter Sunday!! I just wish it had the square or rectangular shower, that semi circle shower just isn't comfortable for long term (for us at least). It's one of the trade offs with shorter rv's sadly.

@@JoshtheRVNerd I still like the Sunset Trailer, we just have some issues with the trailer.
“Bugs the boogers” made me lol by the way :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd oh yes, correct!! Prob why we like it!
Love the Sunset Trail bunkhouse version of this floor plan
Josh, we all know biodome or in the army now were his best movies. With Encinitas man a close runner up.
Cmon now. Josh is right. Son in Law is leaps and bounds better than any other of his films.
Oh man we are about to throw hands in the comments section of this one lol
Better than Son in Law??
Who else Googled "where is Pauly Shore now?" Just me? okay😑
At least two of us
Nice floorplan...probably the only time I'm OK with a dinette...but, overall, a pretty good unit. That "pet station" is hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣 Neither of my labs would benefit from that!!
A few people mentioned it might be good for pet dishes which makes sense I guess
Where's the kitchen
Lol the counter is definitely small. With the camp kitchen and big awning I think this one really focused on doing cooking stuff outside and living stuff inside
If only it had a road-mode bathroom ...
Rear bathrooms with doors further back will usually accomplish that goal
Though without an exterior bedroom door you then lose bedroom access in road mode. It’s always something
I totally agree on the night stands in the bed room. its first thing we're looking for while we shop. definite deal breaker
Ty
@@JoshtheRVNerd were you up in GR this past weekend for the show? I was l👀king for ya when we were there on Saturday.
For instance Winnebago makes two or three motorhomes that are ADA compliant
Beyond that it really kind of depends on the Nature of the persons mobility and how it may be applied to an RV. And for that I really need you to contact one of our team members so they can drive through our inventories for you
@@JoshtheRVNerd
Thank you.
Don’t know that lots of folks need a full ADA complaint trailer. Lots of us older folks just have new hips and knees and stairs are really hard.
HAPPY EASTER to you and yours and everyone at Bish’s,Josh!!
🐰 🥚
I think the interior looks comparable to a Cougar. It looks like they’ve stepped up their interiors.
Plastic toilets gotta go. Definitely
This is roughly on par with a Passports or Bullet which is certainly in the neighborhood with a cougar. I think you’re on the right track for certain
"holy crap batman"? are you kidding me
Note on our new 253rb.
The pet palace sticker, maybe you were the victim of an "impractical joke."🤣😂
In other news, I need to see Son-in-law again, just saw In the Army Now again the day before yesterday!
Those two movies are so great
I used to love Bio Dome
Then watched it again recently and just couldn’t finish it
Love this one. We have an Apex Nano and want to upgrade to something with king bed / sofa / dinette. We are super interested in the 272 bunkhouse since we have 2 boys.
I liked what I saw from sunset on this and hope to see more in the future!
Looks like a nice trailer over all. Can you please do a review of the Passport GT 2704RK. The storage looks amazing in this one. Thank you
I will if I can find one.
I’m sorry to hear you were having a bad day, Joy. I’m glad I was able to bring a little smile to your afternoon. Hope tomorrow is better for you
Great layout! Really like the camper! Great review
Well thank you
I've been living in one of these full time for 2 months now.
THANK YOU for sharing this. Input from actual owners is always the best kind. Hope she treats you well overall!
no fireplace, no kitchen counterspace. lots of good things, but wouldn't buy, 2, 2 many deal
breakers.
Nice couples camper! get rid of the bedroom floor vent - have it come out the side of the bed platform... radius showers not ideal. Great side storage by the bed headboard. Love the colors!
Ty John!!
would like to see alpha wolf 22sw-l thank you
We have one in stock at my home store I hope to record soon actually! Thanks for the suggestion and request
The solar package is surprisingly good vs what you find most of the time. I think this is a great rv
I swapped out the motion light from above the entry door to the pantry. We also changed the outside grill with a 22" blackstone, added a fireplace, along with many other simple changes that didn't break the bank and were all "do-it-yourself" upgrades.
Nice! Thanks for sharing. Has she treated you well otherwise?
I have this model. How did you switch out this barbecue for a Blackstone? I find the barbecue very useless as well.
Love this camper. I would want to order more back splash to the stove side, extra strut for the bed storage, and tankless hot water heater. I would want to upgrade too 50 amp and 2 ACs. I really think I need to bite the bullet and trade in my small truck for a larger one since I really want bigger camper
If you have the money do it sooner than later with how long it takes to buy HD trucks
@@nickzalan4762 true
Nick makes a reasonable point. Truck fulfillment is still a massive issue
I will agree Son in Law was good but I think Encino Man was better.
The dinner scene Will forever live rent free in my head
Man it kills me to say great video when it's not Grand Design.
But you do Every video just flawlessly.
Nice job
Wow.. thank you for this. I work my tail off and appreciate that greatly
But what about the carpet by the door? I'll see myself out...
Lol with GIR in your profile pic this is a flawless comment
Josh this one is awesome! Question…since you lose the bath with the slide in, if you pull into a rest stop, can you slide it out 1/2 way or so, so you can wiggle into the bath if you need it…WITHOUT unhooking the trailer, going through setup process, etc.?
Yes - this is a rack and pinion slide so it may be partially deployed
@@JoshtheRVNerd 👍🏼 This is THE one for me. Hoping you guys have these in stock. Looking forward to my call Monday with Big John (or big Mike)…don’t remember name 🤦♂️ lol
@@IsraellDFend we have both a Mike that’s very tall and John
But only John Carries the “big” in front of his name
@@JoshtheRVNerd Great thanks again.
“Food (and beer)” 😂
Got a question for you: We're looking for a couples travel trailer, with azdel and aluminum framing. it needs to either turtle well or have two doors, 1/2 ton towable, dry weight under 6500 , 30 ft long or less, good tv position, theater seat, fluffy friendly bathroom and no bunks. Does such a thing exist or is it a unicorn? if so, will you give us a video on it please?
I think there's definitely options out there for you! Maybe try these?
→ Apex: bit.ly/3vigxnt
→ Freedom: bit.ly/30guB5n
→ Rockwood/Flagstaff: bit.ly/3oOFmGh
→ Another Rockstaff Option:bit.ly/34yvA3c
→ ANOTHER Flagwood Option: bit.ly/3AKLTWe
I'm sure there's a few others but those popped into my head.
Oh man - for real. Small campers with big camp kitchens are rare now
Frankly I can’t really think of one right now…
Very nice trailer. It checks off all the necessary boxes at a length that doesn't make you feel like an 18 wheeler.
I really liked this one. Only thing that kinda sticks me up on it is the lack of functional / reachable counter space
But I could lean on that exterior camp kitchen with a floating table out there to compensate
Nerdy is all I know! :)
thanks for the uplifting content and the info from a perfectional insight
You could keep the wastebasket in the pantry. Just bring it out while you’re cooking. But the total lack of usable counter space takes this one off the list.
Yep
I know a lot of people like to see them done from the factory but they really are very easy to slap on as preferred
Also thank you both for watching him congratulations man.
I believe these are just factory kings only btw
Meaning I don’t believe there are any side stand variances. That’s a common thing from this group for consistency in production lines
Other than the same radius shower that I have in my Mini Lite 2205S that looks so awesome but kinda sucks, this RV is pretty awesome. 👍👍👍
Lol the way this is phrased for me chuckling here man
@@JoshtheRVNerd Unfortunately as I have now personally experienced, radius showers are far nicer looking than they are functional☹️
Josh you are touching so many brands these days, I would love a quality ranking from you (even if a private message only).
I need more time covering stuff to get a better feel. Many of these new brands I can only gone thru in detail once or twice
That’s why I showcase that kind of thing! m.th-cam.com/video/Ah-mAylBglM/w-d-xo.html may fit you better
I really like when the bath is at the back because its always more roomy. I love the bedroom with a King sized bed. The only downside is lack of counter space in the kitchen, not much prep space for food.
Yeah this one really leans on the fact it has a great outside kitchen
This is a very nice camper. Wish it had a little more counter space in the kitchen. Love the storage. Definitely needs a second strut on the bed. Thank you for sharing so many different campers. Happy Easter to you and your family. 🐇🐰
Counter space inside really is this one’s biggest shortcoming. It really relies on using the camp kitchen and exterior things like a campsite table
Losing the bathroom in road mode is a no go for us. Otherwise, I really like this rig.
I get it. Maybe try this one m.th-cam.com/video/-5aw2tqN0vc/w-d-xo.html or a bunch of others with that layout
Provides the bath access you’re seeking
I just traded in a 2021 sunset trail 272bh on a 2022 outback 291ubh. The sunset was a fine camper, better interior fit and finish than my much more expensive outback. Just wasn't a fan of the layout, the lack of storage, counter space, no pantry, and tiny bathroom. The king size bed seemed like a great idea but in reality it takes up so much room you can barely manuever around it. I much prefer the camper queen in my new outback. For the money though sunset trail makes a very good camper.
Ty for this Brian. Always appreciate hearing owner of experiences
Josh ,
Another beautiful camper.
Is there something you see you’d give up to gain a larger shower? The storage beside perhaps?
@@JoshtheRVNerd Absolutely would give that storage up for the larger shower. You know folks just "love" those corner showers! :)
Love your content Josh, we will travel from NC to Bishes for our next TT. First timer RVers and enjoy your Thoroughness and honesty. Can you cover the NOBO line up?
Keep it up, your vids are entertaining and very informative.
Yeah I could provide some coverage to Saba no boundaries as a visit sister stores that have them in stock. I just haven’t had a chance yet
